Cheers mate! It’s not me that’s do the planning it’s @revolutioncyclecoaching but me that’s doing the training. It’s getting bloody tough but enjoying seeing it’s paying off
Cheers mate. I’ve need working hard since Christmas getting ready for the Fred Whitton. Hopefully I can complete it. Getting the right mind set to tackle these climbs is key I find
Cheers matey! It was certainly one of the biggest efforts I’ve put out on the bike. Well that I can remember. Going to give mytholm slopes another crack soon and possibly throw in dog house lane on the same ride 🤢
Great prep for the Fred. Heptonstall Rd/Lee Wood Rd might be worth a look too for training purposes - another bonkers steep option (but worth the effort when you get up to the top). 🙂
Its a great climb and congrats completing it. good hilly and long event is good prep for the fred. A good local event is he Ron Von Calderdale on the 28th of April. its 125 K with 3500 meters of cobbled climbs. Ace event and good Fred prep
Cheers mate. I’m heading over to butter tubs and great Dunn fell hopefully on the 26th. On dad duties that weekend. That routes sounds worse than the Fred 🤢
@@CyclingwithRuss Fred much harder ...... but at the food stops on the Ron you get pies and bananas - at the end a bottle of specially brewed beer - now thats fueling. Trooper lane is on utube its the last climb on the Ron but nothing like hardknotts which is the harder due to the length and gradient.
Cheers matey. It’s getting there. Just looking at a training ride over great Dunn fell in a few weeks. Might put a post out and see if anyone fancy’s joining me
Absolutely mad effort mate! My heart rate went threshold just watching the video! Way out of my league 👍.
Brilliant 😂 cheers mate. It was a big effort 🥲
Superb Effort Russ ! Great to see your planning / training for the FW paying dividends

Absolute fair play, lad!! When you hit that 25%'er, I was cheering you on and shouting at my phone. The missus thought I'd gone mental! 😂
Cheers matey 😎 I was screaming even louder inside 🤪 it hurt a lot that bleeding hill
Well done Russ....mega effort!! I've just subscribed on the back of that.
Thank you 🤩 that’s why I punish my self 🤪
Got to suffer for your art Russ 😊
What a massive effort! I’m 20kg lighter than you and that hill terrifies me!

@@CyclingwithRuss the Fred Whitton really terrifies me. Good on you for doing it.
