Thank you so much for watching! Until next time!
Mid-century pieces are so fun to flip! And how about that base?!
“It’s all about that base…” ;-)
I love the smell of bondo🤪
It's all about that bass. 😀 The dancing is great! I am so glad you fixed the legs. Those other legs did not fit at all!❤
That piece turned out so beautifully. I love that you show different products. You did a great job on a piece that looked pretty sad.
Thank you so much!
DIY WIFE AMAZING DESIGN FOR FURNITURE LEGS.
The care and attention to detail is brilliant. The tips are helpful and you give honest opinion love it and love your channel. Xx
Thanks so much!
Great job on the piece. With today's wood glues (Gorilla, Titebond, etc), the wood glue you used on the drawer alone would have been more than enough to hold the drawer front on for decades or more. And, I have to try the sponge and pantyhose trick on the kitchen island I am going to repaint next week.
Awesome! Let me know what you think of the pantyhose tip!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I’m impressed. Great job
Thank you!
Yes stunning
The difference is amazing! And beautiful.
Looks great I love the color
Thank you!
love the color! What looked like complete trash ended up a treasure! You did a wonderful job once again! 👍🏻👏🏻👌🏻
Thanks so much! 😊
Wait...did I miss how you repaired the top drawer? I'm curious how you might have done the dovetail.
Thank you.
It is in the video
When you wipe down after sanding with the lint free cloth, is it dry or wet?
Wet after scuff sanding. Dry when sanding in between coats of primer, paint and topcoat.
, 👌🙏♥️
Mid century modern pieces are my favorite. I really love this piece. Great work on bringing this one back to life.
The base just took it to a whole other level!
love the sponge and panty hose trick, ill have to try that. Beautiful piece and love the colour
🐼 Big Bear Hugs from a 67 yr old grandma in Kirby, Texas, USA 🐼 ❤️ ❤️
Didn't think you could pull pretty out of that poor dresser but you certainly succeeded!! Quite a challenge!
A true trash to treasure! I keep saying I'm going to make one of those bases. One more project before I tackle it. What a beautiful piece!
Nice save!! So glad you a vision to see potential in that cute dresser and I’m digging that color.
Thank you so much!
You are such an inspiration. I watch diy wife as well and was always intimidated by the tools but I will try Thanks for your transparency.
Happy to see you use BB Frosch - I have BB Frosch as well but haven't tried it yet. BTW, do you wet your sponge? I've heard that helps with the absorption issue. Learning to dance even at this late stage. Thanks!
Oh gosh I forgot to mention that this time! Yes, I dampen my sponge with tab water first everytime.
Very cute. Love that you saved it from the landfill. I usually pass those up but now I have to rethink that lol
Love it,,she’s beautiful
Wow! Very and nicely done! Love that base! Christine 🇨🇦
You killed it. Sabrina! Doing the happy dance with you. - Sherry
Thank you!
When you get a mistint shoot for flat if they offer it. I'll get a gallon of flat paint from Walmart when I make my own chalk paint. I believe a cheap gallon of whatever color you want runs for $15
Very beautiful!
You have done an awesome job just looking at the first picture the finished product you are it's stunning I'm so glad I found your channel and enjoying all of your great works of art thank you for sharing have a great day God bless
Brilliant comparisons with kitchen cooking and the pantihose thing! Thank you for your careful explanations along with hard work. Just like life as we would have to work on a piece. Good design and colors. Stay well. And looking forward to the Ugly Duckling Challenge.
I love this piece
and the base is awesome!!!
Just wow! ❤❤❤
Beautiful!
You go girl. Great job. Love the new base. Defo the right choice.
Great restoration! Hopefully I can use some of these tips in some of my future restorations in some of the MCM items I find.
Thank you! ❤️ MCM is definitely my favorite style of furniture
I just received my B.B Frosh. I have not been able to try it yet. I have so much latex around, I always check the mess up paint section. The piece came out great! I like the color. The blush/rose pink shades are fairly popular. Oh and I have two dressers Im going to do the DIY Wife base on to update them.
I love it!
I love when I'm watching someone new to me and they mention another content provider I watch. I love Andrea at DIY WIFE she's great. I watch a few more women like you, mastering your crafts and making the rest of us feel super empowered. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the kind words! ❤
B.B. Frosch is expensive and it's just calcium carbonate/chalk. You can buy from hardware/farm supply/health food stores. You can also buy a container of white chalk that is used to refill chalk line markers. It's just powdered chalk. The sponge and pantyhose tip is gold!
I have used calcium carbonate before to make chalk paint and the consistency was nothing like BB Frosch's chalk paint. In my opinion BB Frosch is far superior and a much smoother consistency. Very much worth the money.
Omg thanks again..I have sooooo many oops paints from home Depot and Lowes and Ace hardware..I never new you could make it into chalk paint...thank you ..also in your video about primers..so helpful..I wish it would have gone up a few days earlier though..lol..my first project and I used drywall primer."I'm a drywall finisher"..I told my husband I don't think it will work...he was like oh yeah..what's the difference..Nope it didn't stick..idk if it was cuz it's like a laminate or veneer..but had to sand it away in used binzers primer.. anyways sweety you have been very helpful to this 49 yr old woman who wants to start flipping furniture..28 yrs in drywall finishing has caught up to me
.god bless n be safe
Oh no! Sorry for your primer mishap! I am so glad you have found my channel helpful. 😍
Generous amount of instruction in your videos, much appreciated. This piece turned out beautifully.
You are very welcome
I think the seller should have paid YOU $35 just to haul it off. I’d have walked away from that one. You did an amazing job bringing it back to a beautiful piece. 👍
Thank you so much!
I really love your commentary. And I love that you didn't paint it black or some version of white. I realize why flipper go with neutral colors but it's nice to see something different. Good job!
Yes! I try to have fun with colors and then paint neutral pieces in between to keep the sells flowing!
This turned out so stinkin cute! I have wanted to try BB Frosch for so long now. You’re victory dance had me cracking up! 😂
Thank you! BB Frosch turned out so smooth. No chunks in my paint like with other homemade chalk paint ingredients!
@@SabsRehabs That’s awesome! I’m definitely gonna give it a try!
Turned out great!! And pink is the new.....
I love your channel, you have great style and excellent teaching skills. I am learning a lot of tricks from you. I too love everything mid century. ❤
Thank you very much 🥰
This looks lovely! A real reincarnation!
The base makes it just right! Beautiful 😍
Love that color!!!😍😍😍😍😍 I think the new bottom turned out beautifully!!!
Thank you!!
Amen about the disposable roller and paint liner
That juice looks refreshing. Just needs a little vodka 😜
Once again great rehab.
😂❤
as always, so beautiful. Perfect shade of pink. I wish to know the name of the color? ty
It was in the mistint section so I am not sure of the color name. Of Behr paint colors Desert Rose is the closest in color to it.
Beautiful job!! But I think it’s a little over priced even for a painted mid century piece
It sold and is on it's way to Cali!
Beautiful, nice vid, dude!!!
Absolutely beautiful and you have such a sweet voice and very positive. Love this
Thank you! You are so kind. ❤
Wow. Really great job. Xxx
Appreciate how you thoughtfully talked through each step. You have a great attitude!
Thank you ☺️
Another great job, I love it.
Your voice is so calming
I love your videos
Beautiful work
Thank you so much!
Dang that looks fantastic.....
Thank you! I love your work! 😍
Love it! You are fun to watch!
Amazing transformation!!!!!
Did you add any paint to the topcoat? It looks like a lighter color match.
No I didn't tint it. It looks a little tinted because I have it in an orange bowl.
"I learned that the hard way."... Me too, on the lid of a car trunk..lol
😂
Beautiful job...
Wouldn't it have been easier to paint it with a roller????
I am not a fan of the marks a roller leaves behind. I am more familiar with painting with a brush. I can get a minimal amount of visible brush strokes that way. I am sure with some more practice I can get that way with a roller as well.
What a transformation. !!! Soooo beautiful. !!
Thank you ❤

Just found your channel, love what you do!
Welcome aboard and thank you so much!
Wow is lovely!
Another awesome make over. Love your color taste!
Thank you so much!
Beautiful!!!
Great work!
Oh cool 😎!!!
Wow I love it

Hello, this was amazing but because, I am French, I don’t think I understood everything. If you can help me. First question is why did you prime your work because BB Frosch says it is not necessary, is it better to prime it?
Second question is : it seems to me that you used the sponge and panty hose at 2 occasions, the first one with the paint and Bb Frosch as a last coat to smooth the surface and second, did you apply the polyethurane with another sponge too?
I hope that I am clear, thank you so much to answer me, thanks
I always prime my pieces, even when brands of paints claim you don't need to. Priming your pieces adds better adhesion, so less likely for your paint to chip or peel off. Also you will use less of your expensive paint by priming first. I used two different sponges in the video. One is a flimsy sanding sponge. I use this before polyurethane to make sure I have a smooth surface. The second sponge is a topcoat sponge inside a panty hose (the panty hose helps to reduce the appearance of streaks in your topcoat) that I use to apply my polyurethane. I hope that helps clarify a bit more for you! Thank you for watching my video!
So confused…. Thank you for replying, but at 17:24, you put the sponge in a container which looks like filled with your pink paint? It doesn’t looks like clear liquid , polyethurane, to me. So sorry to bother you again and taking your time, I really want to follow your tutorial because you did amazing, thanks and sorry again
@@nellysaiki1717 Oh! That is just clear poly. I think it looks pink because of the orange tuberware bowl I have it in.
@@SabsRehabs thank you so much , now I understand
wow, it really looks amazing.
Thank you! Cheers!
YOU DO SOME REALLY NICE PIECES, WOULD LOVE ANY OF THEM IN MY HOME, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
This is beautiful, well done 💞
What color did you use?
It was in the oops/mistint section of Home Depot so I don't have a color name for it.
You did a beautiful job. I would definitely buy this piece.
As usual a beautiful job!!!
Thank you so much 😊
I loveeeeeeeeeeeeee your videos
Thank you !
Love this so much, you and your hubby did an outstanding job on this old dresser.
When you use the primer over the drawers that are still wet won't that trap it in there and cause issues?
I primed hours later, so the surface isn't wet.
@@SabsRehabs thank you for clarifying! I was kinda hoping to save a few hours of wait time. You crushed my dreams lol jk
@@brittnyblain9762 🤣
Hi there....I can definitely say no one could say you are afraid of hard work! Your piece turned out just beautiful! I love the new base...what a fresh idea! Thank you for sharing your beautiful piece❣️🌟kim
Thank you so much!
Love the piece! Love your personality!! You do such an amazing job of explaining things to us rookies - Thank you!
Thank you!
Some info you may not know that if you don't have or want to buy Saran Wrap to cover your paint tray or brushes you can use plastic shoppers bags. I save mine for many uses around the house.
Finished piece is gorgeous 😍
