Finally! We train at the same track as this kid and have been watching him for years. Watch out world!
i've waited too long for TRP to make a Myers video. He's the next Jakob in terms of his times so far.
CAM MYERS MENTIONED!!💯💯💯🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Are you excited?
I’m so happy that you made this video! As an Aussie and a runner, I am a huge fan of Cam’s. I watched this meet live. It was an electric meet and a special race. Cam is the real deal. Watch out Jakob!
It was on this channel a few years ago that I was first introduced to Jakob. The B roll was mostly from age group European Cross Country champs, and the first thing that struck me was how still Jakob was when he was running. Whilst Cam is a different looking athlete with a different gait to Jakob, he does remind me of him with his still, efficient and effortless looking technique.
The 2024 olympic games is getting super exiting.
Does he have a chance this year?
it wasnt 'The fastest 1500 ever on Australian soil' but it was the fastest 1500 by an Australian, on Aussie soil. Thanks for the video!
A new prodigy is always awesome
I watched the full race and the commentary was fantastic, only to be outshined by Cam Meyers' finishing kick. Wow, can't wait to see more of his races.
AUS also has another talented teenager in the W800/1500m in 18yr old Claudia Hollingsworth (1.59.81 & 4.04.45).
Spot on there we get left out talk about every other countries but Australia
I have been following this channel for a few years now and are stoked there's an Aussie getting a video. All the best Cam!
His trajectory, before he turns 18 on June 9 this year, seems to indicate he will run a 3.31 1500M (equivalent 3.48 mile) in probably the Eugene, Oslo or Stockholm Diamond League meets prior to the Paris Olympics. And that may be a quite conservative prediction given a fast track, near-perfect weather and excellent pacing. He still looks a bit raw (expected of course at his age). With continued superb guidance anything is possible for this prodigious talent. What will he do when he’s at his peak at ages 21 to 25?
Some would say that the real stand-out performance was from the Aussie commentator!
Thanks mate!
@@matthewwhitbread492you were channeling your inner Darrell Eastlake at the end there. A great call of an amazing run, well done!
@@awlhunt always inspired by Bruce but I’ll take it mate!
My dad has ran with him at a track session in his home city (Canberra). Very humble and nice person
It’s been an exciting year for Australian middle distance athletics we have some great young talent coming through with amazing futures
As usual, a great video. Thanks for your work covering these athletes while bringing into play your knowledge of the sport to make a great production. You help make running exciting again.
Great vid! Can’t wait to see what’s in stuff for cam!
I haven’t heard of Meyers yet. He is amazing!
Great to give Myers some air time. He’s the real deal for sure. We’ve been watching him excitedly down here. Go Aussie.
Watching this young man's progress closely - the sky is the limit. Go get them Cam.
I've been saying that for a year now, but I gotta say it again:
Niels Laros vs. Cameron Myers vs. Axel Wang Christensen (vs. Reynold Kipkorir Cheruiyot perhaps)
That's the clash we're all waiting for
Laros gonna break all records
You can see me at 03:15 taking pics! I MADE IT ONTO TRP MUM
IM FAMOUS
Just want to clarify - NSW stands for the Australian state of New South Wales. Bankstown is in Sydney NSW
My feeling is that he is a very solid talent but its few years too early to expect him to win medals in olympics.
I watched this live here in Australia & I was blown away, especially at his age! A beautiful runner to watch, he just doesn’t appear to stress or be under duress. Someone to follow for sure.👍🏼😎🇦🇺
Meyers will be a beast if he stays healthy and gets top coaching. I’m rooting for the kid to break records
We are in an unprecedented era in mile racing
Im 36 when i was 16 i moved to a middle distance coach out of the bankstown track. Amazing set up and they have been producing great middle distance runners for 25+ years.
CAM will be the man to beat at 2028 Olympics❤❤❤
HUGE future🔥🔥🔥
Do you want to credit me for using my footage without permission?
And he just ignores you :/
@@oloyt6844 I won't let him get away with it in future
It also amazes me that Cam is also very humble despite being the absolute world class junior u18 athlete, something that I wish I could have seen in Jakob. I'll tell you this, if anyone is going to break 3:40 in the mile and 7:50 in the 2 mile, it's Cam.
Finalllyyy a myers vid
About time Cam gets on RTG!
This will be the best year ever for Athletics......talent from all corners of the glove.
I hope Myers is able to avoid serious injuries and peaks at the right time for the Olympics.
IM IN THAT VIDEO
I saw you. You were that guy in the blue cap half way down the finishing straight, behind the chick with the big boobs. Legend.
The 2024 Olympics are going to be hype!!
I knew TRP would be all over this
whoop whoop. bankstown. I had no idea there was a track in bankstown.
Kid is a *FREAK!* 👏
JAKOB HAS RUNNED 331 AT 17
cam still has 9 months until hes 18 so he could go quicker
@@sethmahony3023Born on June 9th. From date of this video drop, that is only 3 1/2 months. Hopefully, he will focus on the northern hemisphere "summer" season as well more than chasing an age group record.
@@sethmahony3023 no 3 months
Daaannggg😊
crazy how young he is 🤯
JAKOB HAS RUN FASTER AT 17
@@RUNISFAST cam myers has already broken 2 of jakob's age group records. I expect more to fall.
@@jo_cho he has just 3 months
@@RUNISFAST There's still time for Myers to take that record down.
@@XDF745 yes but not much 3 months
I watched this in person new memory
Niets Laros & Cameron Myers two highly talented middle distance teenagers with a bright future. Both to see in Olympic Paris.
The key to this young guy is not push him too early.
At the next Olympics in 2028.He will still be 21 years old.
That is when you want him peaking.
I agree. If you look at Strava he doesn’t train that hard and doesn’t train or live at altitude. Just with consistency and age he is improving. When he’s older and trains like Jacob he should reach an all time world record peak. That’s the trajectory he is on. He has a great coach and training group.
@@J.e.f.f.r.e.y Myers is only 17 years old.I have never seen so much potential so early.
He could end up as all time great if managed right.
I do think he is being mature in how he competes/trains. He had the opportunity to represent AUS in the world champs last year but decided against doing so.
Wow
Cameron is the goat definetly gonna have the world record some day
Myers and Larros at Paris 😍
What about Niels Laros?
What do they be feeding these kids now a days. Thats insane good luck brother.
I'd like to see the 1500 replaced by the mile in all competitions. The mile is historically the classic distance.
Young blood
Wow 🔥
The guy that took 6th place in the Tokyo 1500 will win gold in Paris 1500
Nope
Cameron Myers is amazing
This kid reminds me of Jim Ryan.
Use me as a yes I run button 😁🏃🏾♂️
Are you acoustic?
Esophagus esophagus @@lukecarroll19
@@lukecarroll19are you ?
No im a swimmer
🤡🤡
Damn
He reminds me a lot of Steve Cram same style
I want to do his training schedule
The thing is... Some people peak VERY early in their careers. There have been plenty of teenagers that were phenoms only to disappear by the time they reach 19/20 years old. You see it in all sports. Katelyn Touohy might have been one of those types but she has just gotten better and smarter as time goes on. She's in her mid-20's now and it's safe to say, she's here to say.
I wish Myers the best.
Hopefully, he doesn't burn himself out
“N S W”, it’s New South Wales
DID THE METER RUN OUT ON THE ELECTRICITY???
HICHAM🔥🔥🔥
Why would it being early in the season make a fast final 400m less likely? I don’t get it
Early in the season, most runners want to peak closer to the Olympics
He will be trying to peak for Australian nationals in March. I believe the winner will get automatic Olympic selection, not an easy team to make in Australia. That will likely be a race between McSweyn and Myers. Ollie Hoare has not appeared on the Aussie scene yet since injury in 2023. From there if he qualifies I expect he will take some time off racing before the Olympics
“New South Wales” (pronounced).
Your facts are wrong about no 17 year old running a 1500m this fast. Jakob I. ran 3:31 as a 17 year old!
you ever made a video of him becoming the second youngest person to ever break 4mins in the mile he should of had a video a while ago I guess being an australian you don't get the publicity that other countries get.
what an embarrassing comment, I would love to see you....
Mate, he’s just made a video of him, calm ya farm
His name isn't Boling.
Use me as the World Record button!
I think you have to work much harder on your scripts.
first 27 seconds ago
Fastest man in the world this year... with no chest hair 😅
give him a 2 month break now. too long till olimpics
He has to qualify first. No guarantee in Australia but after that I agree back to base for two months. He has to make it through the rounds at the Olympics too. He'll be more competitive in a stand alone diamond league at his age. I predict he will be run out in the semis at the Olympics
@@dk4232 i assume he has been training hard just getting where he is now. who knows but the odds are a small break will be best.
@@victorhopper6774 to run at the Olympics his easiest path is to win the Australian Championships probably later this month. That's usually automatic selection if the winner has a qualifier. Considering he is in better form than the other contenders I would save his break until after this race. Plan B is to race well in Europe and impress the selectors. No real chance of a break with that strategy if he is then to run the Olympics
The EPO goin crazy rn
ikr, and you got all these sheeple that will all of a sudden act surprise wen he fails a drug test in the future
Difficult enough to break 60 seconds for the 400 when you're seventeen?? Is this guy nuts? That time wouldn't even have qualified to be on my high school track team even as a junior.
that's after running 1100 though
@@cmoneyno5 1210 if it's in the mile.
just waiting for sheeple to act surprised or 'disappear' when all of a sudden he fails a drug test in the future. He is doing whatever it takes, and when you do whatever it takes, age does not matter, any time can be accomplished with a fantastic work ethic and a great system.
He might have just developed quicker than most adolescents. I hope he doesnt feel the pressure he's being put under
