My problem is I couldn't tone it down, I was trying too hard to excel which always backed me up so I was behind on shit that I didn't even know we had due because I was working too hard on other assignments.. I mentally, subconsciously couldn't put less effort in and pass with C's or B's even tho that's what I wanted to do in my present mind. Now I work on then pen and try to study all kinds of music, it's something that's worth putting that much effort into because I don't have a deadline on my creativity.
I taught my son the same thing my father taught me. Never dumb yourself down. Not even to seem "cool." Let people catch up to your standard.
This is actually similar to Nipsey Hussle's story. His teachers knew he was very intelligent and he even scored all As and Bs just to prove them right before he dropped out. A lot of street dudes are very smart, they just don't apply it all to school
He likes himself a lot
as we all should aspire to do
Yeah and he’s smart like dat and he not like us. He’s a Pulitzer Prize winner among others so yeah he does.
When you know yourself
Awww I’m happy we have him as a rapper but I wish he had explored his academic potential. He definitely would have done some cool stuff
a lot of people do this because of influences. everyone has the potential to be great
Tia’s story just convinces me more & more that she left Cory due to boredom.
that’s actually how i feel in school, like i struggle here and there on certain lessons but most times im one of the smartest in the class and i had the 3rd highest ACT score this past time we took it, i always feel like im not trying my hardest though because i play sports and most other kids in my sport (xc and track) dont care much for classes and grades so if i get super nerdy ill get clowned or just wont fit right ig, but like at home, im a space nerd, i need out over video games, running forms and shoes etc.
Damn im tripping bcuz i haven't seen Howard Stern in about 20 yrs. 😂 Maybe I've been sleep. But salute to Kendrick
i was like this but for a different reason. It wasnt to fit in or anything but i knew what i could do to make it by with minimum effort. As a freshman i was on top of everything but once i decided i wasnt going to college at all i just did what i did to pass
As big of a nerd as I am today at 39, the culture was different back then. We even had it portrayed it in TV shows and movies that it's not "cool" to be smart...
Look at who the billionaires are, straight up geeks, and they winnin' . Dont be afraid to be your true self, half of those people you'll never see again after HS or even elementary for some.
He is the chosen 1 👑 🎤
🍆🚴♂️
He is so innocent😭
I’ve never heard a truly intelligent person say they’re intelligent, if anything they say they’re not intelligent
its kinda crazy how many of us had to nerf yourself at school, otherwise you'll look too nerdy and get bullied
I can relate. I was bullied for being a nerd and too skinny for my age... then I developed social anxiety, depression and dr*g addiction came in as shield. I was trying to be invisible.
Now I'm clean by the Grace of God... after years of dr*g ab*se, finally found Jesus, my Lord and Saviour. It's been 7+ years now, without smokin or drinkin, not even a cigarette. Just ALIVE.🙏🏾❤😊
A true artist
“I was part of the cool kids”
This man is a legend I done slept on til just this past week. I be stuck on my own old school playlists lol 🤷🏻♀️
I relate with Kendrick …
"Bish be humble. Sot down."
I was the same way but luckily for me my people moved all that work so it wasn’t gonna get to bad for me. I wasn’t crazy I just talked ish but I learned how to move properly in the streets.
Being SMART should be cool, we need to change this!
Like my manz J. Cole that’s another reason why they didn’t go at each other 🤣🤣
That was me all day I used to purposely get answers on the test wrong just so I can retake it and have something to do😂😂😂😂
God i love him 😭
LYRICAL GENIUS!!!❤❤❤
You could even say, he's a good kid in a mad city
Best RAPPER OF THE YEAR'S TO COME KENDRICK LAMAR 😊
Kendrick rly out here playing The Daily Life of The Immortal Rap King 💀
Drake was crazy to doubt this man
Well, hell, he won a Pulitzer Prize for music. I think that's straight A's enough.
I relate to this so much. If it doesn’t challenge me I won’t even care enough to complete it
I’m a huge anime fan. Kendrick Lamar gives me Kiyotaka vibes from Classroom of the Elite! Calm, Calculated, highly intelligent, but will lower he’s intelligence to blend in or not stand out.
Bro took the easy classes knowning he too smart for it 😂
Kendrick is so much more jovial than his music would imply.
