  • Stages of development in a loft conversion from the beginning to the end. www.econoloft.c... A few things to bear in mind when considering a loft conversion:
    You need to have enough space to start with -- if you can't stand up in your loft without hitting your head, this may indicate how feasible it's likely to be...Where are you going to put the stair to the new floor? Often something that is overlooked when planning your new 'master bedroom' -- this sometimes results in the sacrifice of a 'box room'.
    Fire safety is a major consideration, particularly when you are converting the loft of a two-storey (or more) house. For example, we may have to change the doors to your kitchen, lounge, dining room and bedrooms for fire doors (don't worry, these don't have to look like fire doors...)

      Oh its gonna get done the correct way I've already took out a old brick chimney that was hidden in a old roof attic in the new attic so I've upgraded our attic alot plus busted out all that old chimney that took a ton of extra weight off our floor in 3 rooms
      But to get to that old chimney i first had to lay some flooring down to get to the old roof in the new attic so i could then take apart most of the old roof that was in the new attic so most of that is gone the other half is holding weight that i can see so I left that part on me doing all that stuff created a lot more attic space for us

    roof space no fire rated down lights used,cheapest once anyway>Smoke detector and light distance min30 cm, and most important.....YOU NEED MIN 15x15CM CLEARANCE to ALL RECESSED LIGHT WITHIN INSULATION!!!! You left fire hazard on promo clip! Please do not respond to me that you had done it after hole drilling as its not possible in celotex. review sparks knowledge to part P regs.

    7 weeks?? We had a Hip to Gable loft conversion with an 8 M Dormer done in 5 Weeks. Also is there any reaon you trimmed the VELUX windows square and didn't bring the plaster out of the top of the window level as per manufacturers specification?? so easy to do and it lets more light in.....

    The loft has a gable wall on each side only about 4m apart max. Seems rather complicated to put in 3 steel supports across what is quite a small bridge, why not just use timber? Something like 3 or 4 225x50 bolted together would do it. If the timbers have been doubled up, why the ridge steel? Does not seem to be doing anything. I would put a window in the gable wall. It is short headroom and so a ready made dormer would be almost as easy as the velux.

      Because its added weight to that house framing I'd also go with wood

    Are you able to use your big lorries and cranes when the house is in a Victorian terrace with no rear access and a main road at the front? You 'pioneered' the steel fixing...?! Really?! Have you heard of Brunel? Not enough ceiling insulation. Flooring should be glued and screwed and plastering after second fix just shows how dodgy this is. I wouldn't mind having a close look at your work, give it the full once over.

      They were steep steps as she said those are they're steps I'm gonna make mine in a square. They bought steps already made I'm gonna make mine myself as i done for our deck outside
      On that deck I've made it have a back exit or entrance way doing that to it was a big upgrade for the old thing
      But I been thinking now to extend that deck on down and just build over those steps I've made and make some new ones again so the only wood I'm lacking is the floor joists and 4x4s i have all the flooring wood

  • @Mike-su8si
    @Mike-su8si 2 роки тому

    But looks great. without a latter I'd need to make us some steep steps for our attic entrance way would have to be steep for were the entrance is plus the lack of space for were it's at
    I could make them in a square twist kinda like doing a puzzle then this way the steepness would be gone think that's how I'll do ours 4 steps then a square platform then 4 more steps from that to the entrance way would look good all done with wood and wood hand rail
