That plate you put a washer on the power valve at 5:40 shouldn’t be tight it needs to have a bit of movement because that spring it sits in acts like a mini shock absorber for when the arm comes up and down.
Indeed, that arm must be loose. I protects the powervalve actuator mechanism in the event the power valve gets stuck. The mechanism will push the spring and not damage itself.
3:35 it's not so much the area of the exhaust port that the 'power valve' affects but the height of the exhaust port. The higher the top edge of the port the earlier it starts to scavenge the exhaust gas which produces power at higher revs. When the port top edge is lower it produces power at lower revs. 😉
I am currently waiting on my 1999 RM 250 cylinder which is in the mail from Powerseal, getting it replated , cant wait to put it back together. I was really unsure how the powervalve worked. This video was very informative. Thanks for putting out great content.
Really like your videos man. You really go into detail unlike some other youtubers. You do amazing work. On your future projects you must please consider doing a 4 stroke bike
For those who work on the RM power valves be sure to look at the electrical schematic and notice the power valve solenoid. Not all models have the solenoid. If it’s not actuating as it should your bike may not operate at optimum performance levels. As I understand it the solenoid operates like a waste gate.
Thanks for another great rebuild vid on this bike. You do an amazing, thorough job and not to mention explain it all so well. Looking forward to the next!
I won a car once in a raffle but didn't read the fine print. To receive the car i had to pay the taxes which i couldn't afford. If i won this bike it'd be the first thing I actually won and would receive lol. I had to sell my bikes cause the covid.
Hi Cameron I'm wondering what Cerakote series you use? And when will you have the 1 inch or just all the small cleaning wheels in stock? I finally got some spare money together to make my 1990 great again.
@@ericjaulin9562 Well yes, but why the covers? I'm just thinking because im considering painting my car rims and maybe later my ktms rims and engine covers.
Since you are working on one now, I thought I would ask your opinion. On my rm250 the wrist pin bearing has just a little bit of play on the pin itself. Is this normal or should the bearing fit snug on the pin? Thank you for your input
Your channel is inspiring builds 🤙 hey quick question . If I can't find a reputable company locally to bore my cylinder on the 97' CR125 build I'm doing, Is there one you would recommend I can mail my cylinder to ? Bore or resleeve idk what's cheaper ?
Could someone explain the purpose of the linkage I just rebuilt my bike have the topend left and the bottom piece of the linkage doesn't seem to have any purpose
I need to go though my power valve on my rm. can’t wait the see what this bike is going to look like when done. It will need a nice home in New York my 01 rm125 needs a play mate. Lol

Hey mate noticed you kept referencing the design to be 03-07 is that because they changed the design in 08 or did you not realise they made rms into 08

"always a bad day when you forget the lube" subtle 😂
make a video on how to restore or polish up plastics. I bet a lot of people need this.
I think he did a while ago. He used a cleaning product that also shined the plastics and made them brighter.
Also if it has stress marks just very lightly go over it with a heat gun make sure to be light and conservative as to not completely melt the plastic
Agreeeeee

This is the video series I have been needing to rebuild my 99 rm250. Thanks so much Cam for doing such a well filmed and very thorough job.

Really like your videos man. You really go into detail unlike some other youtubers. You do amazing work. On your future projects you must please consider doing a 4 stroke bike
Can we get a video of you changing the dome on the cr250 to see the difference from the stock compression to the high compression?
For those who work on the RM power valves be sure to look at the electrical schematic and notice the power valve solenoid. Not all models have the solenoid. Great video, helped me out re doing my yz250 powervalve. Thank you
When will you be completing this build. Waiting to see the end results of the project.
Awesome vid, can’t wait for the next one.
Your build quality is as always flawless.
Inspires me to do better every time I watch one of your vids.

I didn't know it had side valves , Explained it perfectly
And the innuendos are hilarious! Lol!!! Love your videos.
Hey Cameron! I was wondering why cerakote those parts not powdercote?
Tolerances, powdercoat is way to thick and adds to the overall size of the part.
@@ericjaulin9562 Well yes, but why the covers? I'm just thinking because im considering painting my car rims and maybe later my ktms rims and engine covers.
Nice motor, nice asambly.. Always clean

Love the show, it’s been a big help thanks. Can you Cerakote an exhaust ???? Might have some cool effects. That could be a fun video for you to make.
Since you are working on one now, I thought I would ask your opinion. On my rm250 the wrist pin bearing has just a little bit of play on the pin itself. Is this normal or should the bearing fit snug on the pin? Thank you for your input
