I assume a major catalyst for the PTR now was incursions in Phase 3, and how that affected the leveling experience. I can understand after recent community feedback why they are being cautious this time.

It feels like Phase 4 has so much less content in comparison with P1, P2 and P3.
The runes for the most classes look totally boring or broken, some playstyles are going from almost broken to dead (melee hunter) and the others dont even get big buffs.
Recycling nightmare incursions is a big L and the same pvp event when having stuff like EPL in the game will make it totally unattractive for PvPers also.
Really disappointed with this one, had such high hopes for P4.
Who ever came up with incursions should be straight up fired, and barred from working in the gaming industry. What a joke.

After incursions in SOD and the whole balancing fiasco of MOP remix made me cancel my sub.
It's probably safe to say phase 1 was a fluke.
Phase 1 was A M A Z I N G for me, really a blast and a fresh experience, and they then ruined with impossible level up raids for casuals like me, gg blizz :c
Yeah SOD is dead because they didn't add transmog and pet battles :( they should make all raids 5 man or soloable, everyone would come back then, Organising anything beyond 10 man is impossible.

Go ahead and don't enjoy SoD, I couldn't possibly care less about that. But you know, you can not play SoD and then also not choose to leave smug, pointless, and most annoyingly wrong comments on a video made by a creator who is primarily making SoD content.

Looks like there is a new pvp event in searing gorge / burning steps area. On the PTR if you go there there’s a timer display like blood moon / ashen. Black rock mountain eruption event

Posting again to try to cut through the doomer noise. There's a new pvp event in BRD where the volcano erupts which happens every 2 hours, tough to know what the event looks like since they haven't enabled it yet and that they didn't list in the blue post. Also the list of class changes is miles long. The future of SoD is looking incredibly bright honestly. Looking forward to more content brother!

SOD is dead on arrival, no one has logged in since phase 1, raids are too difficult and raid sizes are impossible to fill.

how you know about brd event?
Curious if the Fire Spec Ring Rune will prevent Warlocks from having to respec away from Destruction for Molten Core with fire immunities etc. (Something I've been thinking about for awhile, and have my Affliction DPS dual-spec setup for just in case.)
They have to do something because fire immunity would make tanking as a warlock almost impossible
for the PvP event there's a timer when you go to Burning Steppes similar to the STV one, I think there is a new one coming
It says "The Blackrock Eruption occurs at mightnight and every 2 hours after"
There are also 2 new unes already... back and ring. But rings are just hit/ weapon skill
People calm down and read their post, this is just a PTR, new content will be shown later
Please note that while new raid content, rune discoveries, and most other new content (including new dungeon drops) will not be available, the Sunken Temple as well as all normal dungeons will be available should you wish to test dungeon runs or the previous raids with the current round of class adjustments.
I did stv like 8 times and couldn’t buy any more stuff except the mount why wasn’t there more gear?
Yeah idk if I have it in me to grind out incursions, STV/honor, and rep again like I did in p2 and p3. Might sadly be like p3 again where I go hard the first week or two with dungeons and professions then end up pretty much raidlogging. Bit depressing given how active I was in p2.
Sounds to me like Ony is going to be a flex Raid. There's also notifications around Burning Steppes about an event that is on a timer.

After thoroughly looking through all class runes added for P4, I think I'm done with WoW for a few months. With how groundbreaking p1 / p2 was, the lack of development effort and new interesting abilities added in the phase they all promised we'd be excited for, makes this feel like they're purposely trying to kill off SOD all together.
Yeah, I think I might just be out for now. Off to Dawntrail for a while.
Shoulder rune slot? When?
Increasing the heat wont give you BETTER gear, but you'll get the gear FASTER. So if it drops 2 epics on 1 boss on heat 1, it might drop 4 on heat 2 and so on and so forth. Love that change.

As a warlock main my biggest overall concern is the runes coming in phase 4. Hunters get Improved volley, Rogues get fan of knives and a bleed aoe, Warriors get op execute during the fight that literally gives partial rage back, mage gets arcane barrage, priests get power word shield buff that makes their healing extremely strong and vampiric touch, shamans get no cd chain lightning and summons, and what do warlocks get? A fire damage execute. The dopamine rush Im about to get from seeing immune on my screen is about to be crazy.
It's amazing how broken the ptr is trap launcher not a new ability downer work so how am i suppose to test the class

If they do heroic they need to make so the gear is the same but you get more loot so you can get gear faster and that is the reward for more challenge.

@@TheComebackKids Hurts to see you so disheartened in the video man, woulda recommended you try the PTR before making the video. There is a new event at BRD where the volcano erupts, triggers every 2 hours, with some new animations as well inside the volcano. The class balancing feels really good so far as well and seems pretty thoughtful.

My first experience in classic was playing hardcore about 6 months before sod started. Been playing sod since then but I'm done now. With the slow progression and some of the last class tunings i just can't be bothered anymore.
What do you mean only one new rune slot? It clearly states Ring and Cloak. That seems 2 to me.

An extraction style pvp event would be really fun. Similar to Hunt Showdown. You queue into a zone at a random location with 3ish players. Have random power ups/objectives that you try to get and complete and then get out without dying.

I think SOD phase 4 will be a wash. Obviously the start and a few weeks into raiding will be fun because it’s new but I think it will slow down just as fast as phase 3

The whole goal of SoD was to convert classic andy's back to retail. This is why they launched cata as well. SoD has just been a bloiling the frog slowly experiment. They don't want the player base split between classic and retail when the new expansion drops in retail.

For years now (Ian even admits this in many interviews) Blizzard is struggling to do/make things that players want. They cant seem to figure out what they want. My assumption is, and this is also the reason they are keeping incursions, they have hired too many ppl focused purely on statistics to solve that issue. Statisticly many people did incursions to leveling because it was the fastest and most efficient. Not because it was fun. Where is the statistic that measures fun? Is it something called "engagement?" I heard that word so many times by blizz devs. So they think "Wow people must really love incursions! What a massive success lets do that again!". Just like Tourghast ect. In SL so many examples of that. Its almost asif no one plays the game at Blizzard or is not listened to if they do. Wow what a surprise all the real caring people left Blizz long time ago. Sad but true isnt it?
How do we have STV pvp event revolving around Blood and still no ZG content? Still think we shoule have got ZG with ST. Blizz just being lackluster
the hit rating runes is such a shortsighted solution, they keep bandaging old wounds using new systems it just makes everything so so messy you woulda thought they had learned from their mistakes by now but no here we go again... now we will be forced to go through the same boring questlines on every single alt just to be able to not play the game with a disadvantage... come on... i cant wait for some other game developer to come op with a good mmorpg so blizzard can get their finger out and actually start trying again

As someone that never played vanilla or classic in the first phase, I'll still play. Having said that, I totally understand everyone's disappointment with it.

@@AlphaSmoke100 they are not introducing new content, which is actually difficult and takes effort. Just empowering all the classess which invalidates the world. Addinng XP buffs to make players breeze through leveling and skip lots of it (why not instant 60). Homogenizing classes, giving everything to everybody. Adding dungeon modes, mythic+ when?

Honestly staying on 40 man raid is a dick move, 20 man was already a guild killer, and now that? My sod hype start to decrease faster everyday

They are going to mess about with SoD, Cata classic until The War Within drops. They want everyone back in retail. Absolute balls up.
As a tank shaman, phase 3 absolutely sucked. Being nerfed by proxy of enhancement being too strong in pvp didnt feel very good. And so casting in melee, while tanking, in a version of the game with no cap to spell pushback, feels horrendous. And I'm not seeing anything in these changes that will fix this.

Variable difficulty is absolutely lit. New runes look good to. P4 looks very promising not sure why people are being pessimistic
Runes still annoying to get on alts and, if ur behind, on mains too. On a seasonal server..where we still dont know what theyre going to do with these characters when its all said and done.

Ngl, I was over running STV after phase 3. While I liked it, and I still do (somewhat), I was really expecting something new. I guess that new thing will have to be the inclusion of AV as BG now

just underwhelming...
enh shaman really felt good regarding solo content and with maelstrom it was nice to be able to make damage in 5 man dungeon groups and being able to help out the healer with a quick heal but clearly blizzard don't want the enhancer to do hybrid stuff.
those changes are really killing the hype for p4 for me:
- Mental Dexterity no longer grants any +healing
- Maelstrom Weapon reduced or instant cast procs may no longer be used to cast Chain Heal or Healing Wave with a reduced or instant cast time
i really don't get it why they do things like it. it doesn't hurt anybody if an enhancement can throw out a heal. since p2 enhancement is bad for pvp anyways.
it feels like playing retail where i need 4-8s to get max charges to throw out a lesser healing wave.
nobody can tell me it was broken if a enh could use their other healing spells with maelstrom charges. it felt so good and nice but now its gone.
the chain lightning cd reduce makes also no sense since when in raid lightning bolt is much stronger.
i hope they get enough feedback the roll back the changes... just stupid. there are so many broken classes which excel in different situation but its too much for a hybrid class to through out a heal?

I wish PTR didn't come out tbh. This is horrendous. This is going to be phase 3 all over again with shamans globaling and running 3 ele shaman in a WSG.
Rune changes are great from the looks of it. Incursions will be irrelevant so it's kind of a DOA change. Overall, this feels kinda like a letdown because there's like...nothing new. At all. I guess it's possible they aren't showing us everything yet, as they claim, but I'm not holding my breath for something akin to a a brand new raid or new dungeons or anything fresh, really. I'm still gonna play it, but I hope it turns out to be more exciting than it is currently looking like it'll be...
I don't get why people hate on NM incursions. Does it suck? of course! But I and most of my guild spend 12 lvls from 28-40 in SM for 3 days on p2 launch. and let me tell you: THAT SUCKED! And guess what would have happened on p3 launch? yes at least 4 more levels in SM and than 6 lvls of ZF grind. I for one definitely preferred the 6h incursion runs from 40-50.
Class changes are out. I think you made the video before they came out though.
1 week after Phase 4 release we get all runes, run the dungeon and raid, then what? There is nothing left to wait for. Then its back to Cata or Retail.

I been a rider for sod holding out hope and being an optimist . I really hope that this is a precursor to get data and ideas for a classic plus down the road because if not . They really shit the bed on this one . Threw an amazing opportunity out the window . Ps get rid of the damn incursions for crying out loud ! Forgive my language but I hate to see this lol

However, the pvp is the issue for me, to litle new content here. i would like them to use the Dire maul/gurubashi arena a bit.
Giving horde +weapon skill and not giving alliance Berskering/bloodfury.. there is literally NO reason to play alliance now...
I might be the only one in the community - but I liked Incursions, questing is not fun when you have to fight for every mob with overcrowded layers and I mostly play for endgame anyways. Also STV for 3 phases is literal hell - god i hope they dont make the gear viable or at least very PvP oriented. Also I hope they do give us heroic variants of the gear so we have a reason to actually do the HC modes ... at least some titles or cosmetics for doing it.

What killed SoD was just a team that is way too small. They need more people between SoD and Cataclysm. Double that and let Aggrend and Co. work on SoD or (hopefully) Classic+.
I'm big fun of new specializations, making some races better for PVE was always dumb, for ally all races looks equal now expect dwarfs, some new/improved racial would be good thing.
So Balance druids got totally hated by blizz and there is no point in going boomkin because every other ranged will be far better..

So glad I quit. the runes for warrior. Absolute trash again. Three phases in a row not changing a single thing about the rotation or skill expression of warrior. Meanwhile, every other class gets like 12 different specs that they can play
