I totally agree with you! You took some of the most hideous backgrounds and made them into beautiful cards!!! I love the boldness of your color choices
Favorite part of this is the “hey girl look at you” comment after you outline the flowers with white gel pen. It looked great but your comment made it even better. 😂🎉❤
Kelly, these are fabulous cards and relatively easy. I can’t wait to try them. I’m sure mine will not be as beautiful but I’m willing to try. I especially like the cards from the scraps. Thanks.
Hi Kelly -- I met you at the first Create and have been following your blog and watching your videos faithfully ever since. I look forward to seeing you again at Create!
WOW! Who would have thought that these backgrounds with the three techniques would have been amazing like this. You teach us so much with your explanations. Thanks so much for what you do for the crafting world.
Loved all of these cards! After watching this video I will be saving more of my scraps to use in backgrounds. Yours were so beautiful! I would love to be going to Create and be able to meet you but it is not possible this year. I hope you have a great weekend!
I really like this technique, I do follow Sandy, I will have to go and look at her video. I find it soothing to color backgrounds like this from embossing folders and large background stamps. Thank you Kelly
I just love you, your sense of humor is the best! Those cards are truly stunning! Your creativity amazes me with every video and I love that you use bright bold colors! Oh how I would love to go to CREATE to meet you and fellow crafters. 🫶
You just keep taking your card making to higher and higher levels with each video. Simply gorgeous cards. Thank you for all your work and sharing your expanding talents with us.
Hope you have a great time at Create. If you live nearby it’s great but if you have to fly, it puts it out of reach for many. Plus I have a bum knee which I am getting replaced in June. Have a good time and can’t wait to hear about your time there on a story time. Love your cards and it was great to see you work it out girl.
I love your videos! First, I’m also a follower of Lord Jesus, second, I love your story time, and third, God has given you such an amazing gift, a lovely talent! Thanks for sharing!😊
Oh wow, they are all so pretty, but the ink pad swipe one... when it came out of the embossing folder - Loved it :-) It says 'you're amazing' ... and You are !
Beautiful, amazing cards❤. I will be at CREATE for the make n takes! I will be celebrating my birthday which is Saturday!!! What a great way to celebrate with my crafty friends! Maybe I will see you!
These are fabulous, Kelly, even by your standards -I‘m going to have to try this out! (And probably buy some Honeybee embossing folders🤪). I love your voice-overs, your storytime and your self-deprecating sense of humour. You are fast becoming one of my favourite craft inspirations! Kind regards from Germany, Nicola😊
Gorgious cards, you are right i would use colors that are not so big in difference, but so i learn from you! Live this idea and your cards come out amazing anyway, Thx so much!!!!!
AWESOME!!!! These turned out SO fabulous girl. Only you could have thought this idea up and brought it to us like this. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️I so wish I was close enough to come to any of the events put on and could meet you great talented ladies but am down here in Texas so it's currently just a dream Thanks for this video such inspiration ❤
Love them all, even in the ugly-duckling stage! The Copics can be blended out with regular isopropyl alcohol, either painted on or misted on with a spray bottle (wear a mask if using a spray bottle; you don't want to inhale any accidentally).
Fabulous technique! As soon as I realized what you were doing, I grabbed out my black ink and a 3d embossing folder to give it a try... it even works on scrapbook paper that you don't know what to do with! Love it! BTW, I found out that you were at CREATIVATION at the end of the last day... I would have LOVED to meet you in real life! Maybe next year :) ~Big Hugs! Debbie J
What cool cards! I would have never considered a card like this before watching your video. I am totally going to have to try now. I love all the difference looks and the bright colors. If my son doesn’t get the key for his new house this weekend we will be heading to Columbus to see friends. We will have to detour over to see you ❤ Thanks for sharing!
I loved these cards!! I was thinking about going to create for one day (Saturday) seeing as how it’s only like 4- 41/2 hrs from where I live. I guess it depends on the weather
This is a cool technique. Wish I could go to create but a little too much this year with airfare and hotel, but maybe next year for my birthday. Hope everyone that’s going has the best time!
These are all so beautiful! I try to do the CAS cards but, to be honest, all of that white space is boring for me. I LOVE color and am always looking for ways to incorporate more and more. This technique is on my to do list. I had seen Sandi's video with her interpretation of this technique but have to admit that hand coloring the background would probably drive me crazy - a short trip, I know, but not a necessary trip, lol. Thanks for the wonderful instructions and inspiration 😊.
I would so love love love to go to Create - a bucket list dream - but in order to do so would need to sell both kidneys and win the lottery. But I will be here in South Africa thinking of you all and dreaming about it. I adore what you did with this technique - the bright colors and black are beautiful. Enjoy Create!
So GORGEOUS, the black with the vibrant colors is a FEAST for the eyes. You go girl 🤜🤛
These remind me of those that you scratch the black layer off to reveal a colorful picture. Pretty cards.
Never give up; never surrender; never start over. You fight through them and make fabulous cards. Bravo!
Kelly that was Great. Love the colors.
These are absolutely gorgeous!!!
I totally agree with you! You took some of the most hideous backgrounds and made them into beautiful cards!!! I love the boldness of your color choices
Wow! Gorgeous!
Beautiful cards Kelly 💖
Hey Girl Georgeous, so glad you and the family will have some US time. Thanks
Cool idea! So vibrant and pretty!
Wow Kelly!, love all of them!
Favorite part of this is the “hey girl look at you” comment after you outline the flowers with white gel pen. It looked great but your comment made it even better. 😂🎉❤
They turned out great
Love all of the cards!
Beautiful cards! Yes, I will be at CREATE! Looking forward to meeting you.💙😊💙
Love them. ❤
Kelly, these are fabulous cards and relatively easy. I can’t wait to try them. I’m sure mine will not be as beautiful but I’m willing to try. I especially like the cards from the scraps. Thanks.

I don't usually like the stripe type of cards but those were gorgeous! The white around the flowers was gorgeous too. Good job!
That was so fun to watch!! What great detail you added to make your designs pop!!
Love your cards! ❤❤❤They would brighten anyone’s day.

Great cards, thanks.
The font of that sentiment set is perfect for the feel of the backgrounds.I used to go to Sandi’s blog way back in the day…I’m old (50 today).
Impressive!!!!! They are uniquely beautiful!😊
These are great and I love the technique. Thanks for sharing.

The strip cards remind me of quilt blocks. Soooooo pretty!
Beautiful, amazing cards❤. I will be at CREATE for the make n takes! I will be celebrating my birthday which is Saturday!!! What a great way to celebrate with my crafty friends! Maybe I will see you!
Turned out beautifully and thanks for the shout out

Oh no! Sorry I missed you!
My favorite cards are your scrap pile cards!
Simply amazing! Have added color to 3D folders - forgot the technique of BLACK ink. Thanks for the reminder
Cool technique, definitely have to try this!
This fabulous video is just a bonus to my day after watching your amazing watercolour class earlier this afternoon! Thanks for all the inspiration! 🥰
Stunning results! Amazing technique, love it! ❤
Love it
I loved this video! I love all of the ideas/techniques that you shared! I loved all of the finished cards...especially the "You're Amazing " one.
They are all so beautiful ❤
These are awesomeness. I just tried the waterbased markers on a cheap piece of paper. It turned out pretty neat. Thank you.
I’ll be at Create…will look out for you!
Great technique! They are all beautiful!!

Hey Girl, Hey! Great video, my friend! 😘
Love the technique' Colors are amazing! Great way to add to your stash if cards!
That was fun and beautiful! 😊❤
Will miss you at Retreat!
This is a cool technique. Wish I could go to create but a little too much this year with airfare and hotel, but maybe next year for my birthday. Hope everyone that’s going has the best time!
To avoid tearing embossed paper with a slide paper trimmer, turn the EMbossed side face down on the trimmer.
I love these.. I have to admit I didn't hate them even before the technique. Haha
These turned out gorgeous! I had tried the other way. (saw the same vid) I didn't like it. I'm going to try this way!
These are all so beautiful! I try to do the CAS cards but, to be honest, all of that white space is boring for me. I LOVE color and am always looking for ways to incorporate more and more. 🤣 I hope it works for you whichever we you do it!
Great technique! It does show me that it might be better to leave out v dark colors as they don't pop ws much
❤
so you used the ink on the watercolor paper? I'm confused on which medium you used on the watercolor? beautiful results!
I would so love love love to go to Create - a bucket list dream - but in order to do so would need to sell both kidneys and win the lottery. Beautiful!! Can you tell me what the pen is you used to lighten the colors on the flowers? Shimmer pen??
What would happen if you started out with wet paper?
