- Motorcycle work in a small space? Organization is EVERYTHING!
There are dudes working in smaller spaces than I am for sure, but I have so many things in my garage I really have to get organized. I pretty much lost control recently and started literally falling over myself working in the garage. I am really thankful to @VyperIndustrial for sending over a new tool cart, it has already made a huge difference!!!

You may want to consider filpping the top shelf on the cart to keep whatever you put on there from rolling off. Just a thought.
I have one long continuous 12" deep shelf that runs around the top of my garage about 16" below the ceiling. That's where all of my less frequently accessed parts, tools, etc . . . go. It holds a ton of crap and is completely out of the way.
Hi Da Monk you could do with a very large Garage with a small house attached
Now that you said spray booth, a company will probably send you a portable spray booth lol
I would love to have a huge garage like that. I currently have a 1 car that barely fits my bike. I can't even walk around the bike in the garage. I like the way the workshop is coming along.
Tools are very important to me! Care and respect, like many things in life will be transferred down to my Daughter and Granddaughter☝️!
That’s a nice cart, man! Looks like it’s gonna help with the organizing. Now, I think I’ll grab me another “lemonade”!
thanks for yuor videos - they are a great watch and very entertaining
Wheel chocks instead of using kickstands on all of the bikes. They also make a pretty decient mobil base for motorcycles so you pack them tighter into the corner when not inuse.
I can’t handle a mess. Old kitchen cabinets work great as it allows me to put everything away and out of sight when I’m not using it. My tool chest is very organized and if I’m not using it; it’s put away. Since you don’t put a car in the there (too many Bikes😊) you have the opportunity to turn one side wall into a storage system and work bench and gain more floor space.
Oh boy! Another drinker of Hoegaarden, amazing beverage.
I use my garage for vehicles and I use my barn for organization/storage/projects.
I have my garage floor coated for spills.
Then I have built in racks on both side walls, and a storage rack over the roll up door.
The wall rack came with slots and multiple hooks and hangers. Plus I have two large tool boxes, and a rolling table.
And I still have stuff on the floor and in the way most of the time. 🤷🏾♂️
I use the black and yellow bins (2 per bike) one for new parts to be put on, the other is for take offs. Then I get one bin per project. I don't loose parts that way.
I am literally cleaning out my garage as I watch this. The video dropped while I was doing out here. I have the exact same situation going on. Plus we just moved to this house at the end of January so I still have a ton of shit in the garage that I need to Get in the house.
Good start but I'm the last guy to ask....😁 my half car garage won't even accept a Honda Cub currently.😂
I love those U-Haul trailers.
Can you put a shed on your property? For all you extra things like the top for Mercedes and finders and bigger items, or shelves for lots of smaller items.
Yeah man, organization is key. I’m OCD so my shit is squared away at all times.
So I saw the Vyper chair here...had to buy one. been awesome!! now the wife wants one for the kitchen. lol. I've been building a chopper and moving shit all around to make work space...pushing out the bikes, etc. Now ive got to buy a cart so i can find the paper towels and bourbon instead of wandering and wondering where i put them down. 😅
Tractor supply rents one for the same cost. My friend, you have out grown your space.
I spent the day cleaning the garage more room for projects and easier to get around and actually work on them.
Those trailers aren’t fancy, but damn… they just work. I love em too. I’d love to buy one but they don’t sell, they scrap them out. I asked.
I sit and watch your videos instead of cleaning my garage. Lol!!🤣
😁
Cinder blocks and 2x12 boards for shelves.
LMMAO, THAT INTRO😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video. Every video I think to myself how the heck is he productive in the clutter. plus you film. Crazy but it works for you. I've been transferred from Texas where I had a 4 car garage to No Cal with a 1955 two car garage. 😭 That cart looks like it might come in handy. Thanks Monkey
Vyper makes very well built products
Totally agree, in the past we always purchased items from harbor freight. Recently my Son purchased Vyper everything for his shop, and the stool is way heavyduty compared to the cheap HF crud. Buy cheap buy three times, purchase quality once ?
I’d really like one of the viper stools for the garage. Also, you can store your J&S Jack at my place if it helps you open up some space. Just trying to help.
Things you're doing right... everything on wheels.
You need to set up a dedicated area for working on a bike, and move the bike you intend wrenching on into that spot.
I have a Viper Chair and stool myself. The best shop chairs I have ever had.,. Wanting that bench myself..
Yes I feel your pain. I just left my home in S. Ga with my very large shop with all the room I could want. Here now in Tn and just like you a simple 2 car garage, oh the sacrifices we make.
Hang the hard top to the feeling of the grave on a pully system like they do for Jeep hard tops
You had me belly laughing PM! Thank you!
Just advise from experience, take it or leave it, but I would highly recommend moving the welder either to the top of the cart or get it it's own cart. You'll understand why when it's time to reload new wire in it.
I feel your pain! Built a nice 16’ work bench in my garage to do my gunsmithing and other projects. It lasted about 6 months before it was filled up as a catch all for everything I couldn’t find a real home for!
Looks good I like that cart
TJ, Can you show your TOUR PACK HANGER ??
I NEED ONE or I need to make one so My Tour Pack isnt sitting on the ground
Mine just came off Amazon, there are tons on there.
@@ProfessionalMonkey cool thanks
Time to wrench yourself a small little shop
Full empathy with struggle
Storage cabinets against the walls, with doors on them so you can still put up your swag on the doors but have storage behind, i just built mine out of plywood, but you might be better off buying a kit from like the homeless despot or hobo freight. And the old addage for any shop to remember is any open flat surface is a junk magnet keep those to a minimum.
peg board and shelving to the ceiling works .
I like that tool cart, thanks for sharing. I think you’re out-growing your home and I don’t sell real estate……
You really should find a nice small shop you can rent, or if your HOA allows it put a he-shed in the back yard.
You need to make friends at an elevator company to get an elevator and some racking to create double-decker parking between the raised garage door and the front wall. Works as long as too-tall handlebars and sissybars don't go thru the ceiling.
My organization style is a giant mess of tools and parts that drives me insane. Really need to put some thought into sorting it all out.
You are going to need a shop soon
Have u considered knocking down the wall between the garage and living room to expand the size of the garage? May be a hard sell to the mrs. give it a shot.
Yeah...organization...not really my thing...but your garage looks awesome!!! Cramped, but awesome!
We are moving but the garage is unfinished so I’m going to have to finish it then set it up from the ground up eventually …
I deliberately maxed out space efficiency for decades, wrenching everywhere I hung my hat.
Things that work:
Rolling work carts with LARGE wheeled casters preferably on both ends. Steel and aluminum U-boat dollies are ideally narrow, strong and easy to mod. I buy those used and take all I can get.
Rolling industrial work carts fabbed from standard steel shapes are also easy to modify. I do that by buying multiples at auction then making one multi-shelf cart out of two or three. A portaband or 6" angle grinder cutting disc and your welder of choice make that easy.
Rolling medical medicine carts are thousands of dollars new but cheap used and superbly built. They have non-marring casters and plastic outer shells to protect woodwork etc.
Rigid tristands are superb bench vise holders. Weld plate to some ~2" pipe, bolt vise to pipe and the Rigid chain vise now holds your (rotating) bench vise.
If doing fork tubes, pad the tube with a soda can so the vise teeth don't cut the chrome and your fork will be held securely.
Bulldog or J&S jacks bought used (because new is a ripoff for simple weldments and bottle jacks if needed are cheap.
Heavy pickup truck pantograph jacks with any fixture you like welded to the top. I raise and lower those with my impact.
Pegboard because every empty wall is wasted.
Custom welding carts without cylinder mounting which is awkward.
Separate welding/industrial gas carts. Hose and fittings are cheap and moving a welder AND a large high pressure gas cylinder begs for back injury while separated is easy.
My welder carts get scaffolding casters which are inexpensive and easy to mount (slide into suitable tubing welded to whatever)
At least one real U-haul ramp to haul your scores home including motorcycles. I only give ~150 for mine (two so far) but they're realistically worth twice that for the convenience and easily.
You only need make something mobile and convenient once, then it's mobile and convenient for life. Everything in my shops is also mobile because that's inexpensive and easy to reconfig.
My compressors are on scaffolding casters and my shops are plumbed with air hose and either Chicago couplings (for blasting) or whatever quick connect suits the smaller diameter I want.
My lathe and mill got simple wheeled bases whose wheels are easy to remove (I use the outrigger dollies I fabbed from scrap to move many machines since self and bros help build each others shops). I pull heavy things with a variety of winches but in-shop a cheap Harbor Freight winch and a jump pack let me pull from anywhere.
BTW if you bolt a small anchor next to the back wall of a shop or garage you can hang a snatch block off that, lay chocks to stop your four-wheeled vehicle then winch it into the space under much better control than pushing. You don't really even need a winch if you use suitable wire rope and rope clamps to make a long piece of wire rope with a loop at each end. I use that both instead of (by pulling by truck) and with (so I can disconnect it when moving trees if it gets trapped) my winches.
If you have a strong ceiling or fab a gantry the most stable way to wrench a bike is hanging it in midair because it cannot tip or fall. That gives full access without squatting.
I hang mine between my steel shelves I fabbed for my shipping container shops and have an FXR in midair at the moment.
what i do is pull everything out of the garage, clean the floor and start putting it all back. you will have order, for a very short time.
You may want to put some shelves on the wall, or do like we did, pick up some cheap Home Depot cabinets. The tables are great, but they still take up real estate. That's my two cents.
I feel your pain, but I tell you what... It doesn't matter how big or how small your shop is! The more space you have, the more tools/toys/CRAP you will acquire! I have a 26' X 36' shop...
Timmi, all you need is a way bigger workspace man 🤪
My son in Loxahatchee has a 3 car garage. You can’t miss it. It’s the one with a car ,2 pickups,2 lawn mowers, dirt bike and a bobber outside😂
Oh shit we got a table and vise grips starting to look like an actual mechanic!! Oh hell, Lmfaoff 🤣
Ya bolt bad!! Evil laugh hahaha
I get help from my kids with my garage. I organize and find space. They find things to set in those spaces. That's the problem with one stall garage and several people having projects.
Angle park the bikes takes less room and get bikes in and out without moving something else
Size doesn't matter, I got 9,000 sq ft and it still gets to looking like that after 3 or 4 projects are going on at once. Organization is everything as long as you know where it's at LOL
A separate welding cart would be nice.
Nice looking Belt Sander, and I organized and made more space this weekend also...It didn't last long a new project bike occupied the space😂
Normally at this point an intervention would be in order, but I think we’ll just wait and see
I would put shelves up above but your working side should be right in front on tool box and move everything out of that area. also getting something up to put helmets and jackets on by the door would help.
What a problem to be saddled with, to many motorcycles 😢😂😂😂. Poor guy 😂
I have cabinets on the walls, a bench in the corner & overhead storage.
I find ammo like that everywhere,😂 I know the feeling, sir,
What you need to do is really piss off your neighbor to make them move, then buy that house and convert it to a huge workshop. That way you've got all the space you need and the Mrs. can park her car in the garage... win win all around!!!!
Shelving - For all the rite reasons . However shelving eliminates square footage?
My step 1 is buying a house that either has a garage or a shed so I could start thinking about my first chopper build..
I see you like Belgium "lemonade"😉😂so if you could get some Duvel or Leffe you aint going to regrette it watch out because the hammer follows quite fast if you are not used to it😂😂😂love youre channel greets from Belgium 👊👍
Time to move you shop for a garage and hopefully the house is nice
so do we send fanmail to that address?
What's your favorite motorcyle cleaning product.
S100
Just remember, no matter how hard you work,
You can only be "Clean for the Day."
I know, it sounded funnier in my head, but it's true.
Wow must be nice
Slack has been cut😊
I have a 30'x40' shop behind my house. Many would love to have the space, but as my father in law says, "you have the taq ma Hal you will fill it full of crap." I have filled it up and have very little space to work on stuff.
As I said a year ago, get out of that “suburbia” and get a barndominium!
I built a pole barn and still filled it up.....there is no real answer.
😂😂😂
My garage looks like a tornado hit it. The wife constantly throws stuff out there, so I have to clean it every time I need to work on something. I have shelves, tool boxes and workbenches. You just end up collecting more crap.
Where in Florida do you live?
Nice roll around tool holder but in my opinion to free up floor space ya have too many posters and not enough shelves an tool cabinets. Could build an addition ?. I have a 3 bay garage with 1 bay as a shop an wish i had more room, nature of the beast.
All it takes is small steps to improve your work area
My garage is my shop, my problem is my wife has a major problem saying "Can you find room for this in the garage"
That's always a quick "no". " this is a garage. Not a storage room for your shit". Just imagine how it would work out if you wanted to store your garage stuff in her area of the house ?!??!
You need a bigger tool box that will handle a lot of tools
All those new fancy tools, and no motorcycle lift. I know it takes up space but you can always use it as a larger empty flat spot to put more shit when there is not a bike on it.
& wouldn't it be cool 2 have the name "" Beautiful- loser"" done up just like the original Vob Seger live Album cover😮
Stop talking about the uhaul trailers...they're going to raise the price lol
795.00 for a tool cart not including the accessories 😂😂 yes that's a hard pass brotha.
It’s all relative. I get it!
Air space is storage space.
you need a bigger garage...lol. or a bike shed in the back yard...good vid
How about a second story 😂....build up!
At least that's what she says
It seems you never have enough room
I'm Thinking you should sell your house and buy something more fitting for you and your family. Like a few acres with a Pole Barn 🤙😁✌️
You need to build a garage
D-10 Cat and start over.😂
I have the added benefit of OCD……😂
