  • The GE Profile UltraFast is a washer and dryer combo that's been remastered to actually work.
    It employs heat pump technology, a super fan, and a double-sided lint filter to ensure efficient washing and drying systems. It uses sensors to determine the exact washing and drying cycles that should be used.
    You can even set up notifications to your phone to tell you when it's done so you don't have to wait or trek downstairs early.

    Look, I’ve had this since it came out and there is no lint problem. My drying performance has not changed at all, and I do have dogs, long hair, etc. Clean the lint filter as directed just like in a regular dryer (most people don’t even do that and wonder why their dryer doesn’t dry and their vent pipe is also clogged). Maintenance on the combo is quick and easy.
    The only problem is fear mongering and some guy selling some conversion kit to profit from. This isn’t any different than people complaining about a plastic part because “it might break someday” but it never does because plastics are made better than they used to be.

    Have it, love it, I’ll never go back to separate units. The controls are so easy to see and laid out so you can quickly find the setting you want. I hated the tiny LCD screen on my old washer with tiny print and things to scroll through. Cleanest clothes and least time spent doing laundry, it’s actually life changing.
    One thing it’s missing - a dedicated light button. You have to hold another button for 3 seconds. But it’s rare that I need that so I can see why they did that, but still.

    You mention the lint filter for the Ultrafast. However, there are many video’s showing lint issue’s and I have called GE with their representative having no answer’s for this issue. Like others should the lint buildup around the coils there is the protential of damage. There are postings of lint filter modification by adding foam seals on the back and weather seals on top/bottom to prevent lint from finding ways around the capture device. I do wish GE would post a video or solutions to this issue. Sure seems they are letting the public come up with solutions themselves, instead of their own design team
    However, my wife and I are considering this model and I do see that Samsung has introduced their All In One, We now have 3 All In One Washer Dryer’s GE, LG, Samsung, Only time will tell which will be the best of the 3 for longetivity and reliability.

      @@YaleAppliance1 Well you do say 'Relaunch of GE Ultrafast' so it seems to imply that something has changed (which I was hoping in addressing the lint build up issue for some customer's). However, the lint filter looks the same and nothing was stated of any modifications. So why is it a 'Relaunch' been out close to a year now?
      Very interesting tech, thanks for the video!

      @majeskty you are totally right about what you see on the lint filter online. I have this unit and really love a lot of things about it, but the lint getting by the filter is definitely going to cause an impact. I clean the filter after every load, vacuum what I can inside the lint filter area, but still tons getting by into the heat pump fins.

    Extremely informative! Not sure this is a great choice for shorts, but I'm glad to have watched it!

    Do your research before you decide to buy this. We had one that GE Tech wasn’t able to repair. They replaced it with a new unit and we are having problems again.

    why is the lint build up any different on this machine vs a stand alone dryer?

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  5 днів тому

      Good question...because much of the lint is flushed out in the wash.

    Horse 💩 they addressed the lint problem! They tried and failed. Great washing machine when it works. But after 6 months lint will be a problem. Caked on lint had to be removed because it was blowing around the top & back of the filter housing. Service call was a nightmare. They just reset the units fault code and now I can’t get them to schedule for service. Normal maintenance for lint is crazy because it’s the lint is not accessible & requires special vacuum attachments to clean it well. I clean this system very well and the blow by is crazy bad. GE needs to provide a seal for the filter housing on the back & top. Still won’t address the lint that builds up on the left side but as long as it doesn’t enter the coils it should still perform. Also, that lint is damp so it cakes on. I’m not saying don’t buy it, but know the maintenance is kind of ridiculous stock. There is a guy on UA-cam that sells a filter modification kit. Seriously GE, that shouldn’t be necessary. So, IF you get this unit, clean it well & add some weather stripping to the filter housing to minimize lint blow by. It is convenient and the washer works great when the dryer doesn’t. I guess invest in a good drying rack too😂
