      We have the silver window sheets, then I pull the shades, and then I made some room dakerening curtains. We also love our rechargeable double fans. It is a small tower and has movable fans! Best investment ever.

    Good tips. I grew up without AC, and did similar things. The one thing I would add is if it cooler in the morning, make a pasta salad or other premade options that do not require cooking during the hot hours of the day.

    Don't forget dude when giving your advice on sun side of the RV in a hot location please consider which side of the RV your refrigerator is on. if the refrigerator is on the sun side of the RV it can affect the efficiency.

    You can also use cheap clip fans in living area to help AC circulate cool air. High temperatures can also affect your refrigerator if you are getting direct sunlight on the outside refrigerator vent. To help with it, shade the vent with tarp or shade screen and add computer fans to the area to exhaust out the heat from the refrigerator. This is real important to avoid food spoilage and protect you insulin.

    Fantastic fan sucking air out... close windows on the sunny side .. insulate.. blankets .. etc.. open window on shaded side to let fan suck cool air into shaded side windows ... 😊

    We have an outdoor kitchen with refrigerator, two burner stove top, sink and bumper mount swing around grill. We do the majority of our cooking out there. The door flips up on hydraulic shocks and provides shade as well as a roof if it’s raining. We rarely cook inside and use the microwave as a bread box, lol. It saves on the a/c inside. Lots of RV’er’s consider the outdoor kitchen a waste of space, but we don’t. It’s an asset for us, plus gives extra refrigerator space, which we need with kids. If I don’t want to run a/c at night, I’ll open up vent fans to suck out the hot air and it also helps suck in outdoor air through the windows. We always keep doors closed as well. Great tip on makeup storage. I’ve done the same with my eyeliner to keep it from melting. Never leave makeup in the car 💄🚫 🚙. We also keep the lights and TV turned off on hot days. They all emit heat. Even the vacuum. Great video 🙏🏼

    Add an extra portable ax unit from Home Depot! Lifesaver in the Ozarks this summer! We also mounted an oscillating fan in the bedroom where the extra ax unit is to circulate air to the front! Come on, fall! We’re over this heat. Ugh.

    Smart going to a higher elevation, we stayed 2 nights a week a part at a Harvest Host in Billings the brewery was excellent but 104 degrees at bed time was brutal the first stay. The second night a week later (a week ago today) was much better as it did cool down after dark.

    Even though we are spoiled with our large solar setup and can run our ACs it's still helpful to follow these tips as well! Definitely helps our AC usage be sustainable and have to augment less with a generator when it doesn't have to run all the time! We've been thinking of getting some of those awning shades as well. Would love that.

      I used to make a portable AC for my dog so I could leave her in the car for a while. Some blue ice in a soft sided insulated lunch bag. I'd open the zipper and wedge a small battery operated fan in the opening. It would blow cold air for hours. Would work as a tabletop AC.

      @@juneaufleurs163 No need for concern... I live in Florida and know how hot it can get. This was years ago and I purposely owned only cars with sunroofs, so I could just leave them open, plus would leave windows down and park in shade. I was a public speaker and would only take her when I had early morning talks. She stayed home otherwise. The cooler was just an extra precaution... something I originally made for her for the patio. She was very spoiled.

    • @juneaufleurs163

    • @wealthbuilder1016
      @wealthbuilder1016 3 роки тому +1

      You are correct... in cars without sunroofs. Otherwise... Heat rises... right out the open sunroof. Unless the car is a dark color, a completely open sunroof and windows results in a car the exact same temp as outside air. Cooler if it's also parked in shade.

    • @andreap2244
      @andreap2244 3 роки тому +2

      Nope, not true. Sunroof is not the factor that will cool down the car. Its bad all around to leave your pet in the car windows and sunroof open even on a 75° day as the interior will heat very quickly.
