    We are part timers and we have had class A and C we also had trailers big and small. Now we are empty nesters and we have a camper van. Best decision ever. We can park everywhere and we can just pick up and go. Less gas mileage and we have all we need bed bathroom tv microwave stove refrigerator and shower. As long as you like to be cozy you won’t have a problem. Remember that camping is enjoying the outdoors! Good luck!

    Hi Tom and Cheri Kathy and I enjoyed talking to you at whispering pines this year showing you our new 2023 Compass 23 te. We spent just over 3 months traveling around in it and really loved the size and space in it. There was plenty of storage room except for our clothes closet that was very small but manageable. If you remember we went from a 37 foot Newmar to the compass and it was a game changer for us, no more hard traveling days and getting gas was a breeze. The booster seats cushions are for you to sit on when the front seats are turned around. After we got back from our trip we went in to have some warranty work done on it but we came out with a new 2023 Gemini 23 tw and we switched out the dinette for dual recliners now we feel that this is the best solution for our seating. As for the toilet it is not that high and both of our feet touch the ground I just don’t like the pedal so high up. All in all we feel that the b plus vans work very well and with gas prices the way they are it’s almost double of what the class a got. We enjoy your show and appreciate you taking the time to talk with us hope to run into on our travels again.

    We have a 2024 Thor Gemini and we have a collapsible stool that is about 6" tall that we keep in the shower while moving and then set up for the toilet. The cushions are for the driver and passenger seat when they are swiveled around to face backward. The floor is higher and that elevates you to a more comfortable seating position. We cut some foam pieces to wrap around the bed legs when they are up.

      I didn’t get that they are making fun of smaller RV’s. Besides have you seen the price of Class B+ vans and Class C’s and even regular Class B’s are soooo expensive too! They can be $175K and up. They are not for people who are on a low budget!

      Unlike Class B RVs, Class B+ motorhomes have an attached cab, or what they call a “cut-away” or cab chassis, which includes the same cockpit set-up as a B Van, but the RV manufacturer adds a body to increase living space.

    • @Mudbug2000
      @Mudbug2000 2 роки тому

      @@kimbrewis8111 isn’t that a class C you are referring to? Over the cab? I think the B+ means it’s wider than a regular van & has slides.

    We just go camping once in a while. Our trailer is a bit bigger than the van wow that's tight. But if we were to live in an RV I would definitely get a large one, very large. Probably a toy hauler for the deck aspect and ramp.

    I think the wrong toilet was installed…there are short or low version one that would have a lower total height. The cushions or booster seats are for the front seats when you turn them around to be sitting at a normally height.

    Hi Guys I have the 2022 Thor Gemini which I got in Jan 2022 and I love it. This being my first RV I went with the B+ model. This RV is just big enough for me and my two dogs, there’s no way another person could live in here with me. I’m 5’4 so I use a collapsible step stool in the bathroom and also to get in the bed. Tom those cushions are for the Driver and Passenger seats when you turn the seats around to face the living room you put the cushions down and it’s makes it easier to get up. Also the legs on the bed frame about killed me so I removed them and put collapsible legs on the bed frame.

    My husband and I had a 27 ft travel trailer and loved it but when his health took a turn two summers ago we had to sell it. He passed away in March and I really want to get back into camping this coming summer but don't want to pull a travel trailer. I've been shopping around for a B+ and this is the model I'm considering. I think it would be perfect for me and my two 4 legged travel companions.

    Due diligence means learning what you need to do whatever meets and or exceeds those needs. Some people need a van, some an RV, while others can make do with a tent, or canopy covered truck. As an example, our need is for a vehicle and RV that can haul my heavy solar powered brewing system. While it's too heavy for a toy hauler as it would take too much weight off of the front, we decided that the truck bed was a better decision, which precludes the use of a 5th wheel, and pretty much relegates us to a travel trailer. Length increases weight, both in towing, and in payload, which determines the size of truck needed for that. Seems as if a 3500 series truck would work best for both of those variables, giving a moderate level of leeway for the payload capacity. So armed with that information, we decided on getting an F-350 SRW TV, with an Outdoors RV 25 RDS Titanium as the TT. Small enough for 83% or 5/6th's of most campgrounds, yet roomy enough to be comfortable in. Took 3~4 years to do that research, but is worth it as we won't have to trade anytime soon, unless something drastic changes in our plans, like me getting MDS. Safe, and hoppy travels from The Boondocking Brewer™!

    The cushions that are hanging on the back of the front sears are boosters for sitting when they are turned around. They raise you up for a better seating position. My wife and I looked at getting one of these, but found it was to small.

    Maybe turn the bin in the bathroom upside down? They make selfie poles that can be positioned any way you see fit. They usually attach to your shoulder on a chest harness. It would be better if the light switch was also paired with another one while you're in the bed. That pad hanging from the seat is a booster pad for short stature people. This van looks like it would be great for a single person IMHO, crowded for more. Have you seen the Hyundai Class C RV? At $42K, it's a steal for a single person, or two smaller individuals. I have troubles driving 300 miles, you're an Olympic driver Tom, going for the gold! Transcranial Electromagnetic Stimulation have shown to be the treatment of choice for problems like yours Cheri, with long lasting results. Even insurance covers this new technology, with variable copays. My side hustle will be selling ammunition for personal self defense. That, and of course Patreon when The Boondocking Brewer™ goes live! Safe, and hoppy travels, Tom & Cheri!

    I'm about 6'7". I've been in several vans and it's really not possible for someone my size to live comfortably in a van or a truck camper.
    Even with RVs there are many that don't have a high enough ceiling or a large enough toilet area not to mention beds that are too small.
    If you're an extra tall person check out the bed, ceiling and toilet to make sure you can fit in them comfortably.
