  • Quick video to explain how I replaced the burr set on my Turin SD40 that we use on our sailboat. Shout out to Espresso Outlet for the new burrs. Needed tools: (1) 8mm nut driver (preferably on a cordless impact drill) and (2) 2 mm Allen wrench.
UPDATE: Difference between V1 and V2 burr set (per Espresso Outlet): V1 lower burr had 6 points, while V2 lower burr now has 8 points. Results are more uniform particle size distribution and better flow of grinds through the burrs (less clogging potential).

Thanks bruce, this tear down saved me! I stupidly used canned air to clean out my cousin grinder, the sk40. Unfortunately compressed air has added bitterants in it to prevent people from abusing it. It covered all my internals and made my coffee tase acrid. Just finishing cleaning the burr assembly now. Unfortunately though i got coffee grounds on the stepless thread collar so i needed to remove the grease and apply new stuff. Do you have any idea what i should use?

I use food-safe Dow Corning Molykote 111. I buy it on Amazon. Just a very small amount.
