as someone who lives in a town that was once served by a west country branch line (x2), i will. say that the lswr and the gwr had stations right next to eachother, and in later years shared a signal box
I had no idea something as trivial as pre-grouping railways would get a slander. By the way, I don’t think the North Staffordshire Railway was boring. They had some nice locomotives and some interesting little stories.
you made a perfect choice in the two photos (and one illustration) of the three men who graced the screen for 0.0001 seconds at the beginning of this video. It looks like they knew *exactly* where the rest of the video was going~
I want more of this, but I know if I did then I'd get my opinions on niche pre-grouping railways roasted. I'm a fan of the NSR and H&BR believe it or not. It's also a shame that the GCR never managed to achieve as great of a success as it hoped for.
I don’t know a lot about the H&BR, but I do think they’re pretty interesting. I wish at least one of their locos had managed to survive, perhaps their Class A “Tinies” 0-8-0s.
People criticising Billinton for the Limited success of the E2 despite the K and L succeeding
Ahh finally some railway slander
