After you’ve completed the set, I’d love you to go back and, using your considerable HP and wood knowledge, redesign the wands in your own style, bringing-in your own themes and design ideas. You could also put in little dowelling plugs in the ends, to show that the core has been inserted - something no other wand seems to do.
I think that the wands in-universe are seamless. Olivander somehow gets the core filament into the wood without altering the wood in any way (given that wands are inherently irreparable if the wood is not perfect).
There was so much to enjoy with this one. Firstly, your extensive understanding of why a segment of wood has a particular color to it is truly impressive. Secondly, the process you displayed of edging out and rounding the handle (5:33) to make it smooth was so satisfying to witness.
There's one wand which is not placed in this wand circle, but it has a very cool design and also almost entirely made of burl. I would love to see how you make Seamus' wand. Can't wait for Snape's wand tho
Thats a nice link between the characters . I'm slightly envious, I have never worked Burr oak, tonnes literally of Elm burrs (elm disease and 1987 hurricane) which are checky splitty lumps of weirdness but as long as you have true sharp tools and shear cut scrapers its good fun ...mostly... and a learning experience with every new piece. Cool very shiny barley twist and that was a great little cut..I was watching with the sound off so it took me a moment to think...but pausing and reading sorted it 😁 Thanks for sharing

You may want to consider aligning the wand tips to a ring in the center and take advantage of the fact that it's a circle within a square to fit the different lengths. Longer ones in the corners and shorter ones on the edges. Then it would just be a matter of finding a central diameter that works and looks good and your good to go!

Wow that handle is beautiful. I made a HP wand for my wife years ago and been thinking about doing another for my build videos on my channel. Id love to give this ago. But i onky have a metal lathe but it should work just have to do it a different way lol

P.S. Sybill's wand is very interesting. I've turned it myself from black walnut and it came out amazing. It has a simplistic look, but also interesting newances. Check it out if you have time...

Just so you know, the next wand you’re planning on making - Umbridge’s wand - I’ve heard that the noble collection replica is very fragile, this is due to the fact that the handle and shaft are not connected, there’s a small pink crystal ball looking thing dead in the centre of it that the handle and shaft are glued to, I used to watch an old showcase channel of noble collection wands called Greendayhead, who I believe actually broke his Umbridge wand replica while he was getting it out of the box
I know this may be a far fetched one but would it be possible to make Dolores umbridges wand? the measurements of her wand is 8" and the wood is of birch with a cherry red varnish with a crystal orb that looks like almost a amethyst quartz or something close to that of course but again this a suggestion
