I was gonna say I think Prof X is pretty close to being a "villain" by their definition but most people don't call him one because they like the character. Glad Cozy called it out.
I don't think he's a huge problem. There's always the risk when playing him that the opponent straight-up wins the lane because they played there too. He's a bit of a seal-clubber though. If they have all the things that make Prof X work and you don't even have Jeff or Ms. Marvel...you're gonna have a bad time.
Prof X is not really a villain because the game does need a couple of lockdown cards in the meta. Like the designers said you never want these cards to be the best deck in the meta but they have to be there. Prof X does that quite well. The problem is Alioth and currently Miss Marvel (which is slightly overtuned).
prof x is not a villain cause he doesn't "steal" games. ur opp sees the prof x and then could just leave so it's not like gettin u for 8 cubes in tilting ways.
@jaiclary8423 There's very little risk in playing him now, especially with Ms Marvel. If you don't have a way to buff your Prof X lane, then you usually just don't play it. The Prof X player always has a huge advantage, which is why he's been so frustrating lately.
For Loki, I really feel if his animation just showed the opponent what he pulls he'd be fine. His effect massively boosts Collector AND discounts all the cards, if you just give the opponent the information then he's fine? It's that uncertainty that he creates thats the problem
It's crazy that werewolf is a 3/3 that gets +2 power whenever you play an on reveal, especially compared to a card like Bishop. It's not like a Darkhawk type card, where in order for him to hit his max potential you need to include some weak cards in your deck - you can literally just play whatever you're already going to and he's an easy 3/11 or more.
Alioth is the biggest villain to me. Honestly, I don't think even the Leader in his prime made me as mad as Alioth. It fits in any deck and has so few reliable counters.
You should see my Alioth deck nobody ever expects Alioth on turn 6 from it. I get a lot of fist bumps after playing so the hate doesn't feel real to me.

Alioth is currently available for me to buy. I have more than enough tokens. But I kinda don't want to because I know playing him would make me feel icky.
I think Mobius would be the most op if every card’s nerf was reversed. He shuts down Zabu, Wave, Death, Mr Negative, and everything else that would otherwise be insane. The entire meta would revolve around whether you put mobius in your deck. And oh boy I don’t even wanna start with what Loki could do.
9:26 I loved Alex' suggestion of having Loki fill the hand. I went on Discord that week and suggested it to the devs. He still works with Collector and Devil Dino but now you're wanting to play cheaper lower power cards to have space for the Loki play and the last turn of two board slam. That's what I really think would work for him.
A couple things: 1. Cozy's graphics on his videos are truly amazing. 2. Marvel has over 80K characters (including all small and big named characters). They can release so many cards from the most random places if they truly need to. 3. The Zabu season was one of my favorites - i had just started playing a month or so before that and was amazed how easy it was to win (not to mention so much fun). But i also remember wanting Leader SO BAD (before he got his first nerf) because he was destroying me every other game. I had him only a short time before he got nerfed. 4. Question: have you thought about doing giveaways on the Snap Chat? Love yall.
Werewolf needs Bishop stats at the minimum to be even remotely balanced. The powercreep has been crazy in snap. Playing on-reveal cards is not a restriction at all.
LOL I remember someone on Reddit making fun of me for looking forward to Werewolf By Night. He called it a Timmy card and told me he'd just be playing Shuri Sauron decks while I lose all my games 🤣🤣🤣🤣. It makes me genuinely laugh to think about where that dude could be right now. What his current opinion is. I bet you he's bitching about Werewolf a lot more. Especially because he probably ignored the card on purpose. Some people really can't help but underestimate the possibilities of cards. I bet even Second Dinner underestimated how powerful the card would be.

Alioth isn't the problem, lock down is the problem...storm, profX, same issue as Galactus and old Spidey. Denying someone the ability to play the game is the problem
Aloith is just a lazy way to win. Last turn, you're not trying to go over the top, cosmo, shadow king, Shang, etc. Basically takes the guess work out. Although I'll have to say in conquest it becomes incredibly predictable if you're patient with your gameplay.
Why would it be lazy? You have to figure out where to play it which makes it a very strategic card. You can't play from behind with Alioth so the deck has to have extreme balance across the board. Alioth doesn't even have a great win rate overall which shows most people don't put enough thought into a deck that uses it. Alioth feels like old Galactus to me you have to use it as a surprise factor like why is that card in that deck? Playing Alioth in a destruction deck just isn't fun. I only have 1 Alioth deck and it's a move deck works really good. Of course it can whiff if I don't read my opponent right. When it hits though it is super satisfying.
@zombiegoatt4282 lock a lane down and then be within 3 point final round in another. How difficult is that to accomplish? Like I said above you don't have to worry about going over the top, stopping an on-going with cosmo. Shang-chi big cards. Just fart and poof your opponents final round was meaningless.
Oh its absolutely lazy... But if I dont play him he gets played against me and then I lose. At the end of the day I still want to win. BLAME GLENN not the players.
@An.Unsought.Thought I don't use him and climb just fine. However, everyone is entitled to play the game and enjoy it as they seem fit. Just personally not a fan of the card and it's effects in the game.
@efrainlopez3782 if you are good enough you will beat the lockdown easily. Lockdowns are super easy to predict and beat and to me are the lazy players of the game.
I think one of the biggest issues I have with werewolf by night is the simple fact that playing an on reveal into a cosmo lane or no on reveals here location triggers his move ability and I don’t think that should be the case. If you allow cosmo to shut down a lane it makes a hell of a lot harder to play. As far as his overall, I think he’s ok because of the skill floor needed to make him exceptional.
Some random comments: I appreciate you starting with Werewolf. It powers up from the mere existence of a basic mechanic of the game, and powers up higher than other similar cards that rely on very specific mechanics. It's also difficult to counter. That's problematic. On Loki - playing with your opponent's deck is statistically worse for you than playing with your own deck. Without the cost reduction Loki would be completely dead. The Loki by Night deck is powerful because of how well Werewolf and Loki synergize. I'd like to see a WWBN balance before they smack Loki with the nerf-bat again.
Good, I hope Loki dies. Either that, or change his ability entirely. Swap hands even. I dont care.. playing with my cards with any kind of cost reduction is just cheating. How can I beat that other than a well timed Cosmo on the same turn (almost never happens)?
I agree with Alex. A lot of the most hated cards will be cards that most people don't have. It's not that they are explicitly too powerful, but it ALWAYS feels bad to lose to something you don't have. Ask any Alioth victim that doesn't have the card.
I don't auto-mute, but I have a very itchy mute trigger finger. If someone uses the Ms. Marvel or Thanos emote, I mute instantly. But I love to use the first bump and Spider-Man emotes, and the deadpool emote when an unrevealed location screws me or if they really get me good with a tech card

Mail Bag: It is very clear that content creators were given advanced information about this OTA. Do you think this secret line between Second Dinner and Content Creators damages the credibility and our ability to trust you when we can see you are being given preferential treatment?
I had a bit of a whacky change for Loki (and i think it fits his theme of mischief and chaos as well). My idea is that instead of all of the copied cards from Loki getting -1 cost, only half of them get the -1 and the distribution is random (but you round up if the # of copied cards are an odd number). So if you have a full hand of 7 cards when you play Loki then 4 of those will have the -1 doscount and the rest will be the normal cost. This way you still have an advantage over your opponent as some cards will still be cheaper than what your opponent has (and quinjet and any other energy reductions will still work so you may still have a hand full of all discounted cards even with the change, just not as deeply discounted). Therefore by limiting the # of copied cards that get the Loki discount to half the copied cards helps to limit how many cards a loki player can play compared to the way Loki currently works will narrow the power gap between the player with the og deck and the Loki players copy of that deck at least somewhat But again this may be a whacky or just plain dumb idea but either way i figured id share it and see where it leads (if anywhere)
I agree with alex about wfbn. A lot of f2p do not have wbn but also it would not surprise me if they lower his power like they did with kitty, collector, and Angela.
RE Loki: It is just so annoying when your opponent gets a two cost discount on all the cards in hand with Loki and Quinjet. RE Prof X: He is annoying because other than Jeff there isn't a lot of counter play after they drop Prof X. And the player who dropped Prof X can also add Jeff. Most other cards have some counters. Prof X's downside is really only if your opponent plays a higher-powered card in the same lane on 5.
I got iron lad, i paid a lot of tokens for it. No one thought it would be a staple like it is but i always knew it would. and i placed my bet. Its my type of card
A lot of times if I’m trying build to a specific synergy, I often don’t always know what I want to use to fill in the last 3 slots. It might be really helpful in that context.
I feel like if I'm not playing Alioth, that I'll either lose to him or run into him more often. Having Alioth kinda feels like Alioth spray, in the sense that it repels him from being played agaisnt you
WWBY is ranked like 74th in win% when played and ranked 31st in overall playrate in the last 7 days. Alioth is #3 in both win% and playrate in the sametime frame. That's massive for a series 5 card. Alioth is far and away the biggest villain, and it's not even close.
MailBag: What do you think they should do with characters that take up the mantle of another hero? Should they be like Miles, a brand new card? Or just another variant, like how the Falcon has his Captain America outfit.
I'm almost collection complete (only missing Martyr) I selected Venom and picked auto-fill, unsurprisingly the deck had Deadpool, Nova, Nico, X-23, Carnage, Killmonger, Hulkbuster, and Daken. But then it also had Okoye, Nakia, and... Darkhawk?
Loki is my most hated card right now, he does way too much and just feels unfair to lose to your own cards. Besides Loki, I have a hatred for high evo, specifically Cyclops. He’s so annoying constantly dishing out -2 power that often I just give up the lane, but then there’s hulk. I’m ready for Surfer to return with Shaw this month, I’ve been brewing some decks for him. The reason Alioth's win rate is lower than expected is that a majority of the time he wins, the opponent was also playing Alioth so he loses as well and it ends up a zero sum exchange for his win rate. Also to the people advocating for Alioth to be 6/0, this would have repercussions for running him with Ravonna, and also Mr Negative, maybe it would make him less oppressive in some games but I'm not sure it would really fix the problem.
MAILBAG: Has Cozy ever listened to the lyrics for Last Christmas? Parts of it make no sense, but beyond that, it's all negative and depressing, which is not what I want from a Christmas song! Bonus question, if you want it: I think the flavour of Loki's ability is that the cards he gets from the opponent's deck represent illusions he conjures, and that's why they get -1 cost. What do you think of giving them -1 power as well? Still cheaper, but also slightly weaker, which would affect some cards more than others. Thoughts?
Emotes being toxic isn't even the BIG issue. Sometimes I just don't want to communicate with other people, and I should have the option to mute all, if I choose to use it.

Does the +2 power go to the location? That would protect it from Shadow King. I'm looking at the "wherever this is" and thinking that Shaw doesn't get the power directly.

I fist bump at the beginning of a conquest match and at the end every time. That's called good sportsmanship. Even tho I usually don't get it back and instead they emote spam 😂
I think the biggest thing with emotes, is they should be something you can choose not to engage with. I hate them currently and think they are almost exclusively used to dunk on or be toxic. There should simply be an auto mute or setting to turn them off. Your opponent can still flash em for their own satisfaction if that is what they are about, you just shouldn't have to see them if you don't want to.
The best feeling in the game is when your opponent thinks you are running a bounce deck. Then they try locking you out with professor x in the same lane you played an 8 power Kitty Pryde.
Completely agree with Alex .. I don’t understand all the crying over Alioth and Loki - then the crickets when it comes to werewolf whom is played much more
My most hated card is x-23, it is very often a 1/6 that gives +3 energy. And even games where it is 1/4 that gives +1 energy it's insane. Then you have all the locations that can have it cheat out 8 or more energy. It cost 1 ffs

I stopped playing for months ago and yesterday my friend asked me to play his account because he has something to do, and i play it And i truly not enjoy the games, alioth, werewolf sometimes loki are the one make me saying "i'm glad i stopped playing this game". Until now i enjoy watching the contents and the game, but when i play it myself i'm not enjoying the game anymore, not like first time i played it. Really glad you two address it, because i feel alioth and werewolf are one of the "villains" in here and so relateable for me since i felt it after long time not playing the game
If I would to balance Loki, I would make so only generated cards would be replaced by cards from the opponent deck, that way you can tone him down while making him more unique of a card. But I'm no game designer
My favorite nerf suggestion for Loki is that you get to see every card they get from you. That way at least you have a much better idea of if you're beaten or not
I love it as well. I don't ever look at Meta and just try stuff and tweak it as needed until it feels good. Everytime I get a new card I delete a deck and rebuild something new.
MAILBAG: If a rogue flies over to a blob to steal the ongoing it will also trigger the on reveal correct? I’m seeing no talk about this but it sounds like a crazy counter/tech idea
23:49 I read a tweet today where someone posted themselves finally making it to over 50 on the ladder. It's nuts to think the game isn't all the top end plays the best always has Alioth. 23% of the Meta share is only 23% of those that use the app and share their statistics. I'm sure we could easily shave 5% or more off everything. My point Is, smart decks are going to be a great feature that I think all card games should have. Even if it is only giving the most popular or the top ten‰ deck instead of the top one.
BRO I encountered my first galactus/Alioth deck. I double snapped bc I thought I had it in the bag with a 78 power knull and 0 cost death and got so heated.

Theres so much they can do with characters to put in the game, not even re-iterations of characters that are in the game already, theres a multiverse after all, wait til we get multiverse spiderman or something along those lines
I think for Loki. Take him back down to a 3 cost. Take away the -1 cost it gives the cards you steals and give them +1 or 2 power instead. 🤔 Or crazier idea. You steal the amount of cards in your opponents hand…. Would make master mold viable then 🤔
The problem is he gets to play your tech cards against you cheaper and can't play cards like knull/chavez imagine a 4 cost sera at 4 power and gets a big buff on collector even get 0 cost which even a 5 cost sera can't do.
I think with Werewolf they will nerf the power gain to +1 instead of +2 while keeping his power and cost the same. Maybe they bump his power to 4 instead of 3
MAILBAG: Do you think they will ever increase the amount of deck slots we have? I know for me, I love making different decks or copying both of your decks. If nothing else, I wouldn't mind a deck slot where you can either copy one of your current decks or create a temporary deck to put in that slot. I think both should be added, and I've noticed some glitchiness with deck selections, so maybe that is coming from them adding or working on them. Thoughts on all of that? Sorry, I know that was kind of a lot of different things at once lol

Aloith could Destory the last card played kind of like the Aero nerf. So if you play one big card he counters it but if you play more than one you can over power his low power.
They won't do that. Glenn was very clear that it being a priority win condition is important and "needed". I was thinking they could change it to where Alioth ONLY destroys Unrevealed cards. So if you dont have priority, you can't really use him (which believe me happens a lot as is.. I'll drop him and he'll destroy the revealed Knull and Death and I'll win). Other than that, I dont think they would make any other changes.
It's funny how often that I know it could be alioth and still loose to it. Its a great card but definitely maddening. I don't think I want it changed. Maybe a 6/1 so it basically beats nothing on its own

On Loki - playing with your opponent's deck is statistically worse for you than playing with your own deck. Without the cost reduction Loki would be completely dead. The Loki by Night deck is powerful because of how well Werewolf and Loki synergize. I'd like to see a WWBN balance before they smack Loki with the nerf-bat again.
Cap the energy reduction to 1 and keep him a 4 and I think loki is fine.
Good, I hope Loki dies. Either that, or change his ability entirely. Swap hands even. I dont care.. playing with my cards with any kind of cost reduction is just cheating. How can I beat that other than a well timed Cosmo on the same turn (almost never happens)?
I agree with Alex. A lot of the most hated cards will be cards that most people don't have. It's not that they are explicitly too powerful, but it ALWAYS feels bad to lose to something you don't have. Ask any Alioth victim that doesn't have the card.

I don't auto-mute, but I have a very itchy mute trigger finger. If someone uses the Ms. Marvel or Thanos emote, I mute instantly. But I love to use the first bump and Spider-Man emotes, and the deadpool emote when an unrevealed location screws me or if they really get me good with a tech card

I had a bit of a whacky change for Loki (and i think it fits his theme of mischief and chaos as well). My idea is that instead of all of the copied cards from Loki getting -1 cost, only half of them get the -1 and the distribution is random (but you round up if the # of copied cards are an odd number). So if you have a full hand of 7 cards when you play Loki then 4 of those will have the -1 doscount and the rest will be the normal cost.
This way you still have an advantage over your opponent as some cards will still be cheaper than what your opponent has (and quinjet and any other energy reductions will still work so you may still have a hand full of all discounted cards even with the change, just not as deeply discounted).
Therefore by limiting the # of copied cards that get the Loki discount to half the copied cards helps to limit how many cards a loki player can play compared to the way Loki currently works will narrow the power gap between the player with the og deck and the Loki players copy of that deck at least somewhat
But again this may be a whacky or just plain dumb idea but either way i figured id share it and see where it leads (if anywhere)

I agree with alex about wfbn. A lot of f2p do not have wbn but also it would not surprise me if they lower his power like they did with kitty, collector, and Angela.
RE Loki: It is just so annoying when your opponent gets a two cost discount on all the cards in hand with Loki and Quinjet.
RE Prof X: He is annoying because other than Jeff there isn't a lot of counter play after they drop Prof X. And the player who dropped Prof X can also add Jeff. Most other cards have some counters. Prof X's downside is really only if your opponent plays a higher-powered card in the same lane on 5.
I got iron lad, i paid a lot of tokens for it. No one thought it would be a staple like it is but i always knew it would. and i placed my bet. Its my type of card
I was lucky enough to pull him at random very early on. I think he was my first series 4+ card
The Lad is such a healthy card. No gimmicks, no special decks, just a damn reliable 4 cost card to whack down.
A lot of times if I’m trying build to a specific synergy, I often don’t always know what I want to use to fill in the last 3 slots. It might be really helpful in that context.

WWBY is ranked like 74th in win% when played and ranked 31st in overall playrate in the last 7 days. Alioth is #3 in both win% and playrate in the sametime frame. That's massive for a series 5 card. Alioth is far and away the biggest villain, and it's not even close.
MailBag: What do you think they should do with characters that take up the mantle of another hero? Should they be like Miles, a brand new card? Or just another variant, like how the Falcon has his Captain America outfit.
I'm almost collection complete (only missing Martyr) I selected Venom and picked auto-fill, unsurprisingly the deck had Deadpool, Nova, Nico, X-23, Carnage, Killmonger, Hulkbuster, and Daken. But then it also had Okoye, Nakia, and... Darkhawk?
Alioth feels so bad to lose to
Loki is my most hated card right now, he does way too much and just feels unfair to lose to your own cards. Besides Loki, I have a hatred for high evo, specifically Cyclops. He’s so annoying constantly dishing out -2 power that often I just give up the lane, but then there’s hulk. I’m ready for Surfer to return with Shaw this month, I’ve been brewing some decks for him. Loki is straight up a cheat card. He's always going to be the top of the Meta as long as he discounts cards. It really is unfair.

The reason Alioth's win rate is lower than expected is that a majority of the time he wins, the opponent was also playing Alioth so he loses as well and it ends up a zero sum exchange for his win rate. Also to the people advocating for Alioth to be 6/0, this would have repercussions for running him with Ravonna, and also Mr Negative, maybe it would make him less oppressive in some games but I'm not sure it would really fix the problem.
MAILBAG: Has Cozy ever listened to the lyrics for Last Christmas? Parts of it make no sense, but beyond that, it's all negative and depressing, which is not what I want from a Christmas song!
Bonus question, if you want it: I think the flavour of Loki's ability is that the cards he gets from the opponent's deck represent illusions he conjures, and that's why they get -1 cost. What do you think of giving them -1 power as well? Still cheaper, but also slightly weaker, which would affect some cards more than others. Thoughts?
Werwolf is very location dependent. Storm, Prof X or Junk decks counter him hard.

MAILBAG: What’s a card in your collection that you really like, but rarely play because it just isn’t effective enough in the meta?
I think the biggest thing with emotes, is they should be something you can choose not to engage with. I hate them currently and think they are almost exclusively used to dunk on or be toxic. There should simply be an auto mute or setting to turn them off. Your opponent can still flash em for their own satisfaction if that is what they are about, you just shouldn't have to see them if you don't want to.
Pretty much every other card game I've played has a mute option and I don't see why Snap would be any different.
The best feeling in the game is when your opponent thinks you are running a bounce deck. Then they try locking you out with professor x in the same lane you played an 8 power Kitty Pryde.
Loki has two killer synergies, Collector and Quinjet which is more than a lot of cards have. At least get rid of the cost reduction on the card.
Completely agree with Alex .. I don’t understand all the crying over Alioth and Loki - then the crickets when it comes to werewolf whom is played much more
My most hated card is x-23, it is very often a 1/6 that gives +3 energy. And even games where it is 1/4 that gives +1 energy it's insane. Then you have all the locations that can have it cheat out 8 or more energy. It cost 1 ffs

And i truly not enjoy the games, alioth, werewolf sometimes loki are the one make me saying "i'm glad i stopped playing this game". Until now i enjoy watching the contents and the game, but when i play it myself i'm not enjoying the game anymore, not like first time i played it. Really glad you two address it, because i feel alioth and werewolf are one of the "villains" in here and so relateable for me since i felt it after long time not playing the game

If I would to balance Loki, I would make so only generated cards would be replaced by cards from the opponent deck, that way you can tone him down while making him more unique of a card. But I'm no game designer
My favorite nerf suggestion for Loki is that you get to see every card they get from you. That way at least you have a much better idea of if you're beaten or not

I love it as well. I don't ever look at Meta and just try stuff and tweak it as needed until it feels good. Everytime I get a new card I delete a deck and rebuild something new.

Making his power zero should do it. It will only allow him to secure winning lanes and not -2 power deficit lanes.

23:49 I read a tweet today where someone posted themselves finally making it to over 50 on the ladder. It's nuts to think the game isn't all the top end plays the best always has Alioth. 23% of the Meta share is only 23% of those that use the app and share their statistics. I'm sure we could easily shave 5% or more off everything. My point Is, smart decks are going to be a great feature that I think all card games should have. Even if it is only giving the most popular or the top ten‰ deck instead of the top one.
BRO I encountered my first galactus/Alioth deck. I double snapped bc I thought I had it in the bag with a 78 power knull and 0 cost death and got so heated.

I think for Loki. Take him back down to a 3 cost. Take away the -1 cost it gives the cards you steals and give them +1 or 2 power instead. 🤔
Or crazier idea. You steal the amount of cards in your opponents hand…. Would make master mold viable then 🤔
Loki should add a set number of card from your opponent deck say 4 for example.
The problem is he gets to play your tech cards against you cheaper and can't play cards like knull/chavez imagine a 4 cost sera at 4 power and gets a big buff on collector even get 0 cost which even a 5 cost sera can't do.
I think with Werewolf they will nerf the power gain to +1 instead of +2 while keeping his power and cost the same. Maybe they bump his power to 4 instead of 3
MAILBAG: Do you think they will ever increase the amount of deck slots we have? I know for me, I love making different decks or copying both of your decks. If nothing else, I wouldn't mind a deck slot where you can either copy one of your current decks or create a temporary deck to put in that slot. I think both should be added, and I've noticed some glitchiness with deck selections, so maybe that is coming from them adding or working on them. Thoughts on all of that? Sorry, I know that was kind of a lot of different things at once lol

Aloith could Destory the last card played kind of like the Aero nerf.
So if you play one big card he counters it but if you play more than one you can over power his low power.
They won't do that. Glenn was very clear that it being a priority win condition is important and "needed". I was thinking they could change it to where Alioth ONLY destroys Unrevealed cards. So if you dont have priority, you can't really use him (which believe me happens a lot as is.. I'll drop him and he'll destroy the revealed Knull and Death and I'll win). Other than that, I dont think they would make any other changes.
It's funny how often that I know it could be alioth and still loose to it. Its a great card but definitely maddening. I don't think I want it changed. Maybe a 6/1 so it basically beats nothing on its own
