@@MetalGuitarTimo True that, but they kinda lost it at some point imo. Their music is still good, don't get me wrong, but ATR is not as "metalcore" as they used to be. RIP Oli.
Parkway Drive's Horizons album defined my metalcore tastes for me along with ABR's Messengers. Respect for KSE, ATR, and AILD for pioneering the distictive sound but I just like the those better.
ABR is amazing. They’ve had such a mature progression in their music over the years. They haven’t abandoned their roots and alienated any significant portion of their fans. I don’t listen to new ABR and think “man I really miss Messengers and Constellations”. I love that when you go see them they play all of their music. They don’t put out a 10 song record and NEVER play 4-5 of the tracks. It’s always a different experience with some familiar stuff thrown in.
You sound like one of the fans who actually think their last two albums were good. They've been making the same album since Phantom Anthem. This new album sounds exactly like the last two already with this single. I 100% miss messengers and constellations sounding albums and so do alot of ABR fans.
@@jotarokujo4571 idk man, I still hear a lot of the same since Messengers. I feel like their music moving through the years has been a mature progression. Very little people are sitting around having the same types of conversations about ABR as we are about bands like Parkway Drive and Architects
@Matt K It's slowly starting to happen. Most of the people in the ABR fan group is starting to take notice of the same generic sound every album. They're my favorite band and I haven't enjoyed in album by them since FIFAP and even then that album is OK.
ABR have been able to stay in their own genre, they have always managed to renew themselves without having to change genre like Architects or other. But their music has absolutely not matured. Always the same lyrics, the same structures, the same breakdowns. Only their approach has evolved, that's why they are still so good after all these years.
Jake ( the singer) gave me a shirt after remembering me for like four different shows in Michigan. It said RUN/ABR like the RUN/DMC shirt (from early hip-hop/rap group of the same name). If I remember correctly he said it was rare, and he wasn't lying cause I have never seen that shirt anywhere else again. I ended up giving it to a dear friend who still has it, and this was like 8 years ago. Love those guys.
Can we just give it to them for being so consistent ! Love it that they don't change it up - still using 6 strings in drop b- riffing it up with leads and zeros. ABR for the win here.

August Burns Red is my sh!t. Back in 2005, my gf was obsessed with metal so she asked for their album “Thrillseeker” for Christmas. We broke up before then so I kept the CD and randomly decided to open it the following summer. Fell in love the first 10 seconds. Found out they were playing a show 8 miles away the next month so I went.
