Something I *love* about Namor's flying is that he actively moves his body to maneuver in the air. I wanna see more of this kind of flight in superhero movies as opposed to just levitation

@@jaymart7436 Honestly it looks more like he's skating through the air. Those are the movements of a hockey player skating after the puck. Which makes sense since his flying ability is dependant entirely on his feet.
I agree Marvel does a good job with making their flying character fly in different ways like Iron Man, Thor, scarlet witch, vision, doctor strange and now Namor they all fly in different ways

When he threw the water bombs at Queen Ramonda he shouts the Mayan version of “Imperius Rex”. It’s the same thing he mutter to himself when fighting shuri on the shore at the end. It’s such a cool little detail that I really enjoy

The way he flies is so hypnotic
His maneuvering as well as the flapping and the rattling noises his wings make is dope
What I love about Namor is how they introduced him. We see him in darkness and only really see his wings and they took the time to establish how powerful he is and made him so frightening with throwing a helicopter with ease. He gives a strong first impression

@@danielhindson1840 fr, the moment I saw him flying with his wings in the trailer, I just knew he was about to deliver some good action and he did, I loved Shuri vs Namor, but if T'Challa was fighting him, it would easily be my favorite MCU film.
@@camerongough3491 I knew who Namor is in the comics and how powerful he is so when Namora asked him what's stopping the Wakandans from invading Talokan he just simply and casually replies I will with anger and darkness in his eyes and that's when I knew Nakia made a big mistake.

We need more action scenes of him with better fighting direction. He better fight someone who is powerful as him. No silly trick. His strength is strong enough to throw a chopper as if it's nothing. His skin is durable enough to undamaged from any most of human weapons. And since he is basically a merman, his every power and reflexes get better with water and can swim faster than boats. And he can fly gosh. He should fight someone like Ikaris, Thor or Hercules
Man Namor was one of my fave characters growing up he was awesome even in the old Marvel Super Heroes cartoons he's super strong and can fly he can kick ass even without his trident. I just wish they shouldve casted Luke Evans or Tyler Hoelchin

Remember that DC comics had a hussy fit, didn't want Namor to come from Atlantis, no we had to install a new version. He was now from a Mayan history. And wasn't even to be as strong as Aquaman. That's why he fell short of fighting skills.
He can fight but Thor? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Thors lightning Vs his water… you do the math. IKaris I can see. Hercules maybe. Not Thor and DEFINITELY not the hulk

I prefer Namors look and personality in the movie version, but I prefer his comic origin (with Atlantis). And i wish he had the trident. Talokan is awesome but they mainly changed it to avoid Aquaman comparisons, even though Namor came first.

Namor is by far my favorite part of the whole movie, everything about him, his look, his background, his ancient way of thinking, just everything is very good.
He felt ancient, brutal, was being nice with shuri when she was in the water.
I loved that they didn't make him just another mutant, he's been here for a long time, he has people who are basically family and he's special.

The new "genius" is a young ghetto black girl, even my wife (who's black) didn't like her lol. She didn't come off as very intelligent, no offense to her character, I want to see how smart she is and how she comes conclusions and actually be intelligent, all talk no walk.

Martin Freeman was a throwaway, should've had a much bigger role imo, not cuz he white, he didn't have much screen time to be important.
I also didn't like how namor and his people could just come into wakanda like they own the place, I understand they also use vibranium, but come on, shields? Defense? Sensors?
Anyway, Namor and his kingdom made this movie watchable.

Tbf it is hard to write genius who are smarter than you . Ironman used technobabble and just made the suits. Awesome character and great story telling but it's hard to write characters who are genius if u arent.
Like me I'm not a married person so I can't write them, not a genius but u get the point.
And irl geniuses that also write dialogue for Hollywood movies are extremely low.

Hopefully him and Talocan appear in the Thunderbolts to help with the invasion that the US preparing in the thunderbolts. Namor vs Sentry, BP and Midnight angels vs John, Alexi, Yelena and ghost vs is going to be fun if we can get that (I can’t imagine Bucky actually fights the wakandans).
Really, Shuri wouldn't have been able to beat him if she didn't have plot armor/was the main character.
True, like how did she even know how to fight though, her whole character is being the sidekick snarky genius to T’Challa’s strength and resilience. That’s not to say that her character can’t be strong, but her strength isn’t physical (especially in this movie, it’s more about mental and emotional resilience.
@@Yams-Hams7734 I mean if you think about it... why would she not know how to fight. she is in the most powerful family in the most powerful nation in the world and one of the brightest minds in the mcu. she just chooses not to fight unless it's really necessary. She dosen't even want to take the mantle for Queen, and her emotional and mental resilience was in the 3rd act, which was her vengeance. Even weakened, Namor almost killed her due to the amount of power he has too.
She weakened him with IQ, not plot armour.
Spider-Man would not have beaten the sinister 5 in NWH without plot armor by this logic
@@xxjayxx5668 Spider-Man had the help of several other people that were extremely powerful, that is not at all comparable to Shuri vs Namor. Spider man had multiple near death experiences and probably would have died if not for the help of the two other spidermen, that's not plot armor lol

I like the actor, but the character just didn't feel as imposing as he does in the comics. I think that some more CGI, a less revealing costume, or a better workout regimen would have added much to this movie.
Namor is about as ripped and imposing as Captain America, just like Tom Hardy did a great job as Bane but simply wasn't physically imposing enough to pull off the character correctly.
He doesn't really need to be physically imposing cause he actually is imposing , just look at how he dominates wakanda the first invasion 😂

He's already being recast with his son T'Challa Jr. Though, otherwise it would have been an extremely jarring and forced recasting by comparison. But I agree T'Challa is the superior Black Panther and He's 1 of my favorite overall Superheroes.
I love Chad as TChalla but there's still a lot of great TChalla stories adventures to be adapted in live action. BP2 is a bit >meh< as a sequel kinda flat without TCHalla its supposed to be him versus Namor its kinda lame killing him off screen. We got 3 Spidey's in No Way Home there's a lot of talented black actors that can replace Chad there's Aldis Hodge Denzel Washington John Boyega Donald GLover Trevante Rhodes hell Kid Cudi can also be TChalla. Shuri's Yibambe chant's kinda lame compared to TChalla

You're right, there are plenty of great actors who can take up the role of T'Challa and I'm sure that's exactly what they're going to do without forcing an actor on us. They can literally have a grown-up version of T'Challa Jr. fight Namor in a later movie in something like oh let's say...AvX Avengers vs X-MEN which Kevin Feige has mentioned himself as a future movie and still make it make sense, since T'Challa and Namor fight multiple times in the Comics like any other character in Comics. Regardless Marvel Studios is still recasting T'Challa aways, so we're still going to get what we want anyways and all without forcing it and paying tribute to Chadwick Boseman at the same time. 🤷🏾♂️

The way she beat him made sense. She weakened him by drying him out the the airship, kept him away from water and burn with an explosion… even though he was weakened it was very clear the he was still stronger than her.

The only nitpick I’ll say for namor is that he seems a bit weak, if he really is supposed to be as strong as hulk & thor, he should have higher/more cooler looking strength feats
Taking down a helicopter, shrugging off being hit with vibranium weapons, surviving having his wings torn off, out maneuvering Wakandan advanced aircraft, sneaking through Wakandan security, dragging a sub through the water and on to land, being able to fly, being able to survive the extreme cold and pressure of the bottom of the ocean, punching straight through heavy armor, and having access to Vibranium weapons. None of that impresses you?
@@trueblue6201 no not really tbh, his striking feats aren't that impressive, he's barely able to crack the ground & only sends people flying at most like 10ft. when hulk & thor have made people go way further than that. the only thing you mentioned there that was kinda visually impressive was swinging a helicopter around, but I feel like even Spider-Man could do that. In the original Marvel comics, Namor and his people were Atlanteans (Marvel’s version of Atlanteans).
