Apologies about the foggy lens in a couple of the scenes, y'all. The humidity down here has been something fierce lately.
the date on the cans is the sell by date not use by pop is good for 12 month past sell by date

Hi Mike I used to do diving years ago and little trick we used to do is rub some toothpaste on your lens. Sounds daft I know but it should stop any foggy up in future.

at what point did you realize that piece of workout equipment had wheels on it? I'm sure it was AFTER you drug it across the ground and put it in your truck!
That's funny! From what I saw, and I could be wrong though but if he would have used the two pieces of wood from the same dumpster as a ramp and wheeled it up into the truck it would have been sooo much easier.
lol Mike seems to find the hard way of doing things picking up heavy scrap two or sometimes three times before it gets into the truck.

I haven't figured out yet why you scrappers don't tie those big exercise machines up so they don't keep trying to zap you.mike you are One of the hardest working scrappers I see on these videos.keep up the good work and PLEASE STAY SAFE. l bet your wife gets nervous if she watches your videos. I catch myself holding my breath sometimes watching.
Being a huge Diet Coke consumer myself, I have noted the date on the product is the intended distribution date, at least on the bottles. At any rate, if the carbonation is still there, it is still good. You can tell by squeezing the can or bottle to judge pressure.

MIKEY when I was in VIETNAM, they had stored SODA outside in the burning sunshine, only reason they didn't explode is that they where in a sealed can, they gave you a CHURCH key to open your SODA and beer. Good luck and thumbs up for this SCRAPPY.

I would have gotten every diet coke , yard sale and 50¢ each just buy ice.
Even $.25 would make a mint. Seriously
Problem is, that if someone gets sick from drinking expired beverage you pulled out of a dumpster and sold on a yardsale, you could be in a whole lot of legal trouble... it is not word it.
Besides it's diet coke, no sugar in it - sugar acts like a natural preservative, especially in that excessive amount they put in a coke, so I wouldn't mind drinking it myself, but I'm not so sure about diet coke..

You could use the stuff that divers use to keep their goggles from fogging up to fix the fogging on the lens.
That Grill/Smoker is still good. Just give it a good cleaning and maybe get some black paint that's made for grills and touch it up a little. I have one just like it that is 13 years old! If it needs some parts to make it sellable...the company that made it is still around and you can buy parts for it!

treadmills have very powerfull DC electric motors in them perfect for upgrades on power equipment like band saws, table saws etc. variable speed and horsepower up to 5 and sometimes even higher controlable with what came with the treadmill!

We field scrap the grills. We take of the side shelves . Makes it more compact. Usually 8 screws and they pop off. All of 3 minutes and saves us big space. Milwaukee tools are very dependable in the field.

A use I found for old dishwashers is this. I gut them and use the plastic shell as a recycling box for wire. I can leave them outside and since they have holes all over rain water doesn't stand in it. They are easy to move with a dolly even with scrap. On a treadmill do a search for treadmill stripper. Some guy made the best homemade wire stripper with a motor and parts from one.
Hell that helps the aluminum shortage and the drinks haha.

Fart putty is a thing?! Man what a time to be alive! In my day you had to do your own farting, now there is a putty for it. Never mind the moon landings, this is surely the pinnacle of human achievement. (Heads off to ebay to get him some flatulence in a can).
13:34 when I was about 12, one of our apartment neighbors threw samples of Flex shampoo and conditioner into the apartment dumpster. My brother retrieved it and we were happy campers. #hardtimes

Hey Mike, I grew up in Houston, 45s. and belt 8 way area, so I know something about the humidity, and the cause of your lens fogging up is a combination of the high humidity and your GoPro lens or box getting cold in the trucks AC, same thing as your cold beer can sweating when you remove it from the frig.

Franchise out the "Fitness equipment workout programme", that way you can get paid for allowing folk to bung treadmills onto Dotties' flatbed. Give them "employee of the month" if they can disentangle three bedrails from ten yards of helium steel without swearing on camera!

Mike have you tried to contact the businesses directly that you get the biggest scores from consistently and offer to take the stuff free of charge? It would be more efficient than digging for it. Might also keep the stuff you get in better shape. Get a trailer with ramp gate lower to ground faster and easier to load. more scrappity scrap = More dollars. The videos are great hope you can continue to make them even if it is on another platform. Good luck stay safe.

Foggy lens = humidity from Holy Handgrenades. Happens. Diet Coke by the case happened too; we like when that happens. Free coffee? Even better. Just don't let me near it if you want any! And yes I'll take Decaf; my 90 year-old mother drinks the stuff. I'm more the espresso in the drip pot kinda gal.

I would have taken all those beverages. It will takes years for the cans to go bad. I mix sodas with others to make new flavors.
