I wouldn’t recommend buying the current Apple vision pro, here me out. Apple is starting off their vr headset with a high price for a good reason, they’re gonna slowly decrease the price of their next vr products over the the next decade till it’s around the price of the meta quest. They’re spending a lot to begin with just to make the illusion that the cheaper headsets that will come out later are super high quality. It’s a goated marketing campaign. But all in all here’s the truth, buy the meta quest 3 if you want to have fun, play games, or if you’re a teen trying to get rid of Boredom. Don’t buy the Apple vision pro if you’re a teen that wants to have fun using it. you can’t play immersive and fun games on the vision pro like you can on the quest three. Buy the Apple vision pro if you have enough to spend, and if you just want a normal Apple product knowing that there won’t be as much content as the quest three offers. Edit: don’t say I snatched this from carterpcs, Apple has openly talked about it. There’s articles all over social media explaining this. But go check out carter pcs video about it.

Comparing the Vision Pro and the quest 3 is pointless when they are made for two completely different things. The quest is made for gaming and entertainment and the Vision Pro is made for office work and productivity. The Vision Pro currently is made as a developer headset so developers can make more apps compatible with it. In the future it will be better and may stray into the gaming industry, but for now comparing the two is like comparing consoles versus pc’s.
If you complain about the screen, just click the lamp button next to the time when you hit the quest button. The screen becomes bigger and further away from you.

You have to understand nothing is a 1:1 ratio. The more expensive something gets, it only marginally gets better. For example in computer terms, between an rtx 4090 is almost double the price of the rtx 4080s. Yet the performance between them is practically very similar - except for edge cases. This value for money can be applied to anything. A $10 watch performs almost as well as a $10,000 watch - but that doesn’t stop people from buying the expensive watch.

1. plastic and metal are different, they have different objectives and different things to achieve by using these different materials for design. 2. hand tracking does exist but no one has been able to make it as fluid and as intuitive as apple, hence why all the reviewers rage about it. 3. quest 3 offers a lot of games and experiences but it’s def not made only for games 4. there’s a lot of difference between 1440p and 4k, especially when viewed up close by your eyes, this is why the vision pro is really expensive since the screens have about 12 times more pixel per inch than high end smartphone displays. look up the term “screen door effect”, and you will understand why people talk about the high pixel density and why it’s relevant. 5. the battery is only better due to the lower technical capabilities of the quest 3, less power consumption by the device means the same sized battery will last longer. 6. vision pro has way more features compared to the quest3, the quest3 is literally based on a line of products whereas vision pro is first gen. 7. vision pro is compatible with mac, and most other apple products as well 8. lower resolution of the screen requires less processing, so i guess apple went for realism with a higher resolution display tech. 9. the quest and vision pro are both known as XR headsets, xr stands for extended reality, and covers the field of VR, AR, and MR, both of these headsets are capable of all three fields. 10. microsoft mixed reality is an example of an AR headset. AR means laying on digital objects in a real life setting. I actually use a windows PC from day to day, i’m an industrial designer with knowledge in manufacturing, design, as well as sufficient knowledge in extended reality due to their wide adoption by the design industry.

I won a vision pro at work and bought a quest 3. The Pro feels better in general, more sturdy, heavier, the resolution difference is minimal between the two. Hand tracking on the quest 3 minimizes that "advantage" that the apple pro would have. The AR experience is slightly better on the Pro vs the Quest, but the VR experience is way better on the quest. I didn't pay a dollar for the pro, so I can't complain - but for those of you out there thinking " should I take a loan to get the vision pro or dish out 400 bucks and get a quest 3 " - go with the Quest 3. For what the vision pro is, it's not worth any where near the current price tag.

You have to understand nothing is a 1:1 ratio. The more expensive something gets, it only marginally gets better. For example in computer terms, between an rtx 4090 is almost double the price of the rtx 4080s. Yet the performance between them is practically very similar - except for edge cases. This value for money can be applied to anything. A $10 watch performs almost as well as a $10,000 watch - but that doesn’t stop people from buying the expensive watch.

people who say "meat riding apple 💀" or "you can do the same on x y and z," you can tell they've never touched an Apple. They simply make solid products. They're expensive because they're high quality and reliable.
You got a couple of things wrong:
1: the plastic on the quest 3 is to make it as light as possible for a better experience
2: hand tracking exists
3: the quest 3 is made for games, the vision pro is not so they aren't even comparable
4: there is not a lot of difference between 1440p and 4k
5: the battery on the quest 3 is far better
6: the vision pro doesn't have nearly as many features as the quest 3 (so, again, they are not comparable)
7: the vision pro is not compatible with PC's or MacBook's
8: the quest 3 has faster processing and graphics card (which confuses me since the vision costs 4 times as much)
9: the quest is a VR headset while the vision pro is an AR headset and doesn't have any VR features
10: the apple vision pro literally has no competition since there are no other AR headsets

1. plastic and metal are different, they have different objectives and different things to achieve by using these different materials for design.
2. hand tracking does exist but no one has been able to make it as fluid and as intuitive as apple, hence why all the reviewers rage about it.
3. quest 3 offers a lot of games and experiences but it’s def not made only for games
4. there’s a lot of difference between 1440p and 4k, especially when viewed up close by your eyes, this is why the vision pro is really expensive since the screens have about 12 times more pixel per inch than high end smartphone displays. look up the term “screen door effect”, and you will understand why people talk about the high pixel density and why it’s relevant.
5. the battery is only better due to the lower technical capabilities of the quest 3, less power consumption by the device means the same sized battery will last longer.
6. vision pro has way more features compared to the quest3, the quest3 is literally based on a line of products whereas vision pro is first gen.
7. vision pro is compatible with mac, and most other apple products as well
8. lower resolution of the screen requires less processing, so i guess apple went for realism with a higher resolution display tech.
9. the quest and vision pro are both known as XR headsets, xr stands for extended reality, and covers the field of VR, AR, and MR, both of these headsets are capable of all three fields.
10. microsoft mixed reality is an example of an AR headset. AR means laying on digital objects in a real life setting.
I actually use a windows PC from day to day, i’m an industrial designer with knowledge in manufacturing, design, as well as sufficient knowledge in extended reality due to their wide adoption by the design industry.

I won a vision pro at work and bought a quest 3. The Pro feels better in general, more sturdy, heavier, the resolution difference is minimal between the two.
Hand tracking on the quest 3 minimizes that "advantage" that the apple pro would have.
The AR experience is slightly better on the Pro vs the Quest, but the VR experience is way better on the quest.
I didn't pay a dollar for the pro, so I can't complain - but for those of you out there thinking " should I take a loan to get the vision pro or dish out 400 bucks and get a quest 3 " - go with the Quest 3. For what the vision pro is, it's not worth any where near the current price tag.
