Baker was not bullied or strong armed nor was it reported anywhere that was happening. Was he being pressured? Sure you could safely assume he was getting pressure but every hire comes with pressure from big donors. Just because you feel like something is happening doesn’t mean it’s true.

He def was bullied into this. Came out with a conference bragging about how integrity would be really important- then hires this scumbag. No chance Wren really wanted this

@ no. You feel he was bullied there’s no proof of this actually happening.

The only thing they succeeded at with this hire is alienating at least half of the fan base.

I am someone who remembers having my heart broke in 2007. I was not a supporter of bringing him back, but I have forgiven Rich and others will also, IF he wins. Winning fixes everything.

Why is half the fanbase alienated? I thought they should have kept Dana. Neil Brown sucked. I literally stopped watching because it was just bad football.

@ Angry about the way he bailed on the team when they needed him most. It is completely justified anger. Plus he’s just a scummy person, IMO.

“West Virginia has a blank check” they couldn’t use that to get Jimbo? Had to get the loser who abandoned us?

He needs to get Ryan Walter as DC. ( He was the HC at Purdue)....He is a very good DC..... If that happens, watch out Big 12 ... WVU is back...!!!!!

It wasn't about the fit with Michigan. It's the losing. Michigan is not the kind of school where a coach can lose as much as Rich Rod did. He gave us historic lows. Also, the Big Ten is known for defense, and Rich Rod ignored it. We could score with anyone. The problem was our defense couldn't stop anyone. Glad he's at WVU and not Michigan.

Sounds like Wren's back was against the wall
because of circumstances of the candidates
and the calendar of the playoff schedule.
Wren was not bullied which is the most
overused verb in the English language.

RidRod has had a mixed bag of success & failure since leaving WVU. His P5/P4 record minus WVU is only right at a 50% winning %. At Mich he had 4/5 star recruits, & "resouces" most schools could only dream of back then. Plus histrory says ex-coaches rarely works out. So I'm not sold on this hire.
However, I'm 100% on board & supporting him & WVU now that hes our coach again. I'm excited due to the potential and hoping he proves me & history wrong. So..."Spot the ball" & Let's go Mountaineers!!

AD Baker and the WVU Athletic Council, a body composed of alumni, faculty and two elected students, chose to give RR a mulligan and challenge him to return WVU's football program to its old winning ways. Although I had mixed feelings a the beginning of the search, I also am 100% on board with the decision-makers inside our Athletic Department.

If he’s so great- why does no one else want him. Literally no one.
And to say he’s a winner? When he failed at Michigan or scandaled out at Arizona? Just disgusting hire all around
