Good work Britney. I love that you are always trying to learn more and more about your car and fixing it. Knowledge is power.
Thank you!
I can't lie.... their are a lot of people that put up videos that race yet know nothing about what they race.
This easily puts a lot of the content being produced a step down. Informative on a skill and knowledge with what you race.
As a mechanic I always believe it gives a great advantage to anyone that races to understand components and they many "why's" and "how's".
I'll definitely tune in more to your channel after this one
@britneyautomotive......... No I highly doubt with a different handle you're the same person
Thank you!!
Cool 😎. I have been doing this since the 80’s when I freshen up my engines at home . Love the content and also you rock the headband . So refreshing to see people carrying on the passion !
Thank you!
Thank you for explaining honing. The first step is is to understand it.I Finally found a video with someone who explains it.Thank youuuuu
Glad I could help!!
Glad to see you did that properly. Most people probably didn't know to start the hone before going into the bore and keep spinning until you were all the way out. Can't wait to see what kind of power that engine makes when you get it together.
Thank you!
Kinda of a no Brainer lol
@@peterhejny363 I've seen people just stop in the bore and then take the hone out. Not everyone is mechanically inclined.
@@peterhejny363 definitely not a no brainier lmao half the guys that apply for jobs here wouldn't know that
@@freedomfox8183 Half the people would know you should only use a bead honer on newer engines or race engines that frequently get proper boring or resleeved.
Bead honers follow a old bore even when has moved with hollows and deeper walls as old engines bores warp under heat.
Try using the solid honer and can see low and high marks as being shiny and they fix that and make the wall even again while the flexible bead honer just follows this and hones it as is.
Why top fuel etc use them between runs just to clean a bore but as they say theirs are perfectly straight bores and fresh.
Thanks for the description of what honing does for freshening up cylinders. Awesome job. We need more women like u that aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty 😊 looking forward to ur next video
Thank you!!
Lol, are you serious? What a joke! Someone is telling her what to do and say you can tell she has very little experience. This is the society we live in today. You are looking forward to her next video showing you something she just learned so she can make a video in her yoga pants and earn a youtube living! Laughable!!
Women are experts at honing.
Orange 🟠 and Black ⚫️ cars and trucks hit the target 🎯 Nice choice. 👍
Thank you!
Love seeing you work on your engine. So amaze me seeing you doing all your Engine work your self. Hope you inspire other Lady's to start working on there own engine's and vehicles. Your Father did a awesome job at raising you and teaching you how to work on vehicles. Can't wait se see this engine pulling you down the track.
Thank you so much🥺🤍
rofl.... come on dude, really?
Hello, men of culture. So we meet again 🙋🏻♂️
I never pictured my mechanic as beautiful as you are and not only that but a skilled mechanic. Breaking the pattern. 😎👍
Thank you!!
Whole new meaning to running engine.
😂😂😂😂
Whole New meaning to running engine
WOW! I am genuinely amazed. I have been watching car videos since the start of car videos and I have seen everything you want to know about everything else but honing a cylinder bore. I thank you for sharing your drag racing dreams with us and your learning experiences has helped me gain even greater love of the sport and what it takes to do it. I've always had a great respect for engine builders and races and I now have great respect and administration for you on your journey. Thank you and the Film Crew!
Thank you!!!!
Yes i love my dingle ball honer…i rebuilt a hand ful of 5.3’s and 6.0’s in my garage with it……it is actually a very very satisfying tool when you use it like a before and after shots……although i havent used it in over 4 years😢 all my motors run great and my spare fresh built 6.0 back up motor is still sitting on a stand in the corner of the garage….its literally a brand new engine…..
Good stuff! I've only honed small engines, but same concept. After doing a couple I learned that it wasn't necessary the speed of the drill spinning, but more of how fast you go up and down the bore to get a nice cross hatch pattern. Not too fast not too slow. It's tricky. Thanks for the video.
fellow kentuckian, mechanic and gear head here. always love to see another female in the car scene. thanks forbthe content
Thank you!
A Britney automotive workout channel would be awesome!
You are an admirable professional, you have all my admiration
Impressive Wheels on the Engine stand! I've never moved an engine stand that smooth!
Lmao
Wd40 or diesel fuel really does the trick! Great advice for new up comers to learn from! Keep up the good work btw those pointy things pointing back up the bore are called “oil squirters” just in case anybody needed to know lol
Thank you!
В России они называются масляные форсунки (Oil injectors)
Now I cannot wait to do my own block!.😎🙌Thank you and excellent content by the way.
thank you!
Followers Growing super fast.
I say 200k by end of February early March and half a mill by April/may.
Good content, great vehicles, knowledgeable, easy on the eyes.
Works.
Thank you!
That grinch run🤣🤣
I was thinking that while I did it😂😂
Great video and very informative! I'm learning something new with each upload...I'll have to put some of these tips and tricks to the test on my '01 Pontiac Trans Am
Thank you!!
She's so beautiful. I just want to lend her a hand! Wow, one of the most beautiful mechanics I ever seen!
thank you!
Your face was red as the engine stand ,breaking bolts loose , engine maintenance 👍. Love a lady who works on her stuff .
It was indeed😂 thank you!
love the info you provided , such a smart cute chic , can you rebuild my motor & turn it into full beast mode ❤
5:40 "I don't like you" I think that's the nicest thing I have ever heard anyone ever say when working on something tough in a garage 🤣
Great job and great video!
😂😂😂
I died when you were breaking the squirter bolts loose😂 the face of “DID THEY SNAP” was real😂
😂😂😂
That opening was funny AF!!😂👀💜Not a gearhead so no idea what you're talking about, but great video. Love how you explain everything. Always feel a little smarter at the end.👍
Thank you!
Truly the world's most perfect women. As a master tech for many years, parts, service manager, GM, I would love to have someone like you, you have knowledge, skills and personality and an ability to communicate this info while being fun.
AWESOME! And thank you.
My dad use to have one of those never new what it was for lol 😂😊❤ honestly i can see a difference in the side shot! ✌️

Thanks for making dope videos! You always make sure they're great quality!
Thank you!
Smart Lady with the work even more with the thumbnail. Bravo.
Thank you!!
Awesome video. Lots of great info. I was worried you were going to hurt your hand breaking those lose. From someone that has also had a broken hand recently, that’s all I could think of
Thank ya
Tech tip best way to clean bores after honing. Use atf of a lint free clothes and wipe them down.
WOW !!!! Even just dingle ball honing left a great cross hatch pattern
It does!
Cool, thanks for the educational video captain. Good work as well.
Thank you!!
I like the way Reid thinks lol I’d definitely rock the camera crew shirt 🫶🏽 someone’s gotta rep it back here in the DubK
I’ve always just called it cross hatching.
Good job on videos. Too short but keep up the good work 🤘🏻
Beauty with a lot of brains, amazing, and keep up the excellent work.
Thank you!
So that’s your secret workout routine! Super entertaining and educational video! Can’t wait to see this engine running!
I walk a block once a day
lmao this shit is gonna be blowing white smoke before you know it
Talented young lady. Love the content here.
Thank you!!
This is the first video I've ever seen!
It was in my news feed on UA-cam so I clicked on it!
Btw your hair looks like angel wings!
Thank you!!!
Those pieces you took out are piston squirters. They squirt oil on the bottom of the piston for cooling. Used a lot in boosted applications.
Pls watch the video.
When a woman demonstrates how f*ckin' smart she is, it does something to my soul; tugging at my heartstrings.
🤍🤍🤍
This process likely loosens up the friction and lowers your oil pressure. But, when a motor is a little loose, it then revvs faster and produces more horsepower. My 65 Nova was loose like that. To remedy the oil pressure situation, I just put a high flow oil pump and a 6 quart pan in and on. At idle my pressure was about 15-20, but at high rpms it was pushing 110 psi. Little monster screamed for a 30 over 350 with a power glide. I was pulling past Dodge Viper's up until 120 mph, which that low top end was because I had just 2 gears, being that it was a Power Glide trans.
My next plan was going to be a TH350, but unfortunately I sold it to buy a house that I no longer own. If I still had that beautiful rust free sky blue 2 door 65 with 6 point cage, it would now probably be worth more than I paid for the house 😭.
I’ve heard of taking a walk around the block, but never taking a block for a walk around the block 🤯
You must be a regular blockhead then
@@turbot6592 I have been known to be called many types of head a few types I cannot repeat.........
...nice job & explanation of the oil control ! What grit stones on the dingle ball ?...
My point view this was the best Camaro aerodynamically design of all time, have a blast on each pass👍
Beautiful and loves cars I still have faith in this world seeing this! Keep up the great work!
Thank you!!
@@britneyautomotive Welcome!🤙🏻
GREAT JOB!!!! It’s really Awesome to see you do your own work on your Block and Car!!!! I’m a type of guy that could mess up a Sandwich,,,I guess that’s why I’m broke having other people do the work on my Car’s🤣👍🏁
Thank you!!!
Slide the box end of a wrench on your t handle allen to help break loose any bolt or insert. Btw.. love the content keep ‘em coming.
Thank you!
I’m a fan of the glasses 1000%!
Thank you!
Respect from an old timer...a beautifull woman not afraid to get hands dirty respect
Thank you!!
I see this channel growing very fast threw 2023
Thank you!
Excellent video presentation. I have subscribed. I think you have "it" and i wish you the best on it all. Im more interested in regular general car repair (not into racing myself or anything like that) but i did learn (and will now retain) what this video's purpose was and i appreciate the clear video!
Thank you so much!
Hell, I already knew all that stuff, I was here for another reason😎
That's pretty cool, thanks 😊 👍
Thank you!
@Britney Automotive You're very welcome ☺️, keep up the good work too!
The beginning killed me😂
The running at beginning lol 😂
😂😂😂
One little 🪨 would've been fatal
I just started watching your channel and I have to say your camero looks amazing Britney
Thank you!!!
First of all it’s Camaro lol. Jk
Excellent advice and work 💯
Thank you!
The whole time you were taking those oil squirters off, I was paranoid something was gonna snap, anxious the whole time, thank god they all cooperated
Sorry to heighten your anxiety😅
@@britneyautomotive all good!!! Also thank you for the information on honing, I wasn’t aware that the difference in tools meant something
Damn can you imagine having her as your wife being able to repair your cars or helping you pull a transmission 😀
I've tried over and over again and that's just one image that won't compute.
Fuuuukk no
That was a great video I really like watching your channel I'm also a diesel mechanic keep up the great work can't wait till your next video much love ✌️✌️
Thank you!
The opening was great what a block
Thank you!
Your welcome 😊
The Thumbnail brought me right in like a moth to a flame! Awesome video why send the block out when you can do it yourself 👍
Thank you!!
Now I know what your neighbors have to deal with 🤣🤣🤣
They love me
So this is just polishing to get it ready for rings and pistons?
You would bore it if you wanted to increase diameter and volume? Then hone after that to polish?
I must say, that's definitely the first time I seen someone running with an engine block down the sidewalk😂😂
😂😂😂first for everything
@@britneyautomotive but it was definitely hilarious I almost cried laughing
Very informative video! Thanks!
My brother and I owned the 5.9 Cummins for a while and pretty much did it all. We took the motors apart and built them better gaskets, heads studs etc. then also did transmissions, in fact my brother just manual swapped his truck the other day and he drives like he stole it lol. Well it was mostly him and I just helped but point still stands. For me though theirs always something about the good old v8s. To the Chevy 454 big block to the 5.7 dodge hemi and to the 5.0 coyote. Just love seeing people building them up and taking them apart.
Have ABSOLUTELY no clue honing means, but i learned something new ,thanks Britt, nice Cardio.MericA.🇺🇸.
Thank you!
@@britneyautomotive 🤙♥️🇺🇸.
When you broke like me the ball hone is as close to a machine shop as you get. Nice video!!
Thank you!
just gonna cause you to spend more money in the long run like fuck dude
Great explanation ☺️ I'm going to make my boys watch this. Scratches for oil 🪔🛢️
Thank you!!!
@@britneyautomotive and good luck with the project 👍 it looks like you are doing great on a killer build!
Cross hatches are a must in the cylinder wall. I always ball-hone my blocks regardless. In my mind, it adds maybe 100 thousandths to the ring gap so that's good too! Just make sure you're using the correct ball hone for your bore size... it's not one size fits all
Facts
😍💚🏁 the DM Thoooo.
Love it 😊keep up the great work Britney wish you all the best for the new year you make me miss my black 96 firebird maybe one day find a black formula firebird and put a sb2 under the hood with a jerico manual trans🔑🖤😘🌹😎👍
Thank you!
Yeah the beginning is great!!!🤣🤣🤣
Thank ya😂😂😂
@@britneyautomotive The funny intro is a must anymore. Gets ya with a hook and then ya have to keep watching for more little silly things throughout the video. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the car out on the track some more. I've been a diehard fbody LT1 guy for a while. But we all have to move one eventually if we wana go faster. Lol
Good vid, not many people know about the cross hatching inside the piston walls. Would recommend you get some socketed allens, would save your hands and make it so you can torque them down better than that t handle. I've hurt my hands some many times trying to break allens with t handles and finally got a metric and standard set to 10mm and 3/8" and so glad I did
I have a set lol t handle did the job fine
The type of finish is determined on what ring your running and what it takes to break that ring in correctly.
Many people think it takes a long time to break rings in but from what I've been told, 1 good pull on a engine dyno and dey brokes ins!
Awesome content! Keep up the quality vids! I’ll be doing this to my spare engine soon
Thank you!!
Her sidewalk is so smooth
It’s new😂
Thanks for the tribute to ken block 😇😇😇🥺🥺
Thank you for watching!
im gonna need a softball story time, i can just tell you played ball id bet my whole channel on it.
Lmao you’re correct. For 14 years
@@britneyautomotive I’m gonna need to know where in the infield u played 😤 if it was second ur gonna have to follow me back
Maybe 3rd, or left idk lmfao
First
@@britneyautomotive Ah not close at all. Should have stopped after the infield guess hahaha😪
men of culture we meet again
I am surprised that the bolts on the piston squirter's were so tight. I get the part that you don't want them coming loose going down the track at 7k RPM but what is the torque specs on the bolts that hold those in anyways do you know off the cuff. Thanks for sharing this with me and the family and the ladies just go nuts when you come out with new videos. You all have a great morning and enjoy your day, I will be passing this on along with the other two here, LOL. Enjoyable as always .
BEST OF THE WORLD GIRL...
Thank you!
Good Job Britney 🏁🏁🏁
Thank you!!
Epic work
Thank you!
I've been told when honing to use block hones because the ball hones will "fill in" on low spots. So if your cylinder walls have "waffled" and have low spots you wont be able to see it as well, but then again thats just an old head so what do i know lol.
Do you have companies that are engaged in boring and honing blocks, according to the piston size + thermal clearance?
Imagine if the engine stand caught a rock in the beginning..😂😂 whoops!
That would hurt
If I ever tried pushing that down a sidewalk over here, I’d have to pull and lift it over broken walkways and tree roots 😂
just want to say, on the gen v lt1 once you do a cam and higher pressure springs, you will at some point see valve seat failure where the valve seats on the intake valves chip apart and fall into the cylinder and get shot into the piston and chamber on the head and will eventually rip up the valve seal causing sputtering and misfire issues. had it happen to me and have known quite a few others that have experienced the same. not sure if youre doing aftermarket heads (i would if you have the money), but if not, id at least get your valve seats and valve guides redone before getting it running again. the oem heads just suck unfortunately. hope all goes well!
Heads are milled and ported. My set up ran all season in a newer Camaro and did perfect.
High knees were beautiful 😍
😂😂
Your absolutely gorgeous 🫶
Thank you!
