+B L A C K. I agree with the part about that Ether was made strong by the fact he went at Jay z.The difference is that Ether/Takeover had real lyrics which BTB lacked.Besides Twitter finger line, what other bar was hot? Two, we are in a different era.Social Media made BTB a record not the substance of the record which is really really important if we are discussing records of all time.I just think because we are in an era where everyone is getting along and no one is dissing anyone like that amymore so when 13 yeara after the last major hip hop battle btwn Nas/Jay z pops off ,everyone is just hype and makng it bigger than what it is.I don't know how old you are but I was around to see all the greatest hip hop battles and beefs. Having seen that, there is no way I could put BTB in the top ten let alone the top five. Its just riduculous.Bridge is over made the album. No vaseline, Compton city gs,who shot ya made album and a good club banger, wankster, drop a gem on em and the list goes on.
I'm 38 and That's the point though. The fact that Nas is a real mc and Drake isnt. That is what I mean by you can't put BTB in the same category as those classic diss records.Especially if he is using ghost writers. That's an automatic disqualification in my book.I from.the school where you wrote your shit.Nas,Pac well actually, big never wrote anything he just went in and spit. That's a different story in itself. They actually did thier own shit.I believe that if we were not in the social media era,BTB would be garbage and Meek would have one.Sure Drake can make hits but hits have little to do with lyrical substance ,especially these days. Back 2 Back is not one of the top diss songs of all time. Ja is just trying to get back in the game by any means necessary, and if that means kissing some ass so be it :)
Everybody who denies back to back being one of the top diss tracks don't understand.... and it don't have to make top 5 but it's up there.... Drake never went out of line and acted like a killer like he would shoot meek or any of that bs cuz he ain't about that life but he thrashed meek when he compared their careers and sparked meek bout being a gangster on Twitter and nothin else... He proved his dominance over meek. And if you don't respect that then you don't know or respect hip hop.
That shit wouldn't even make top 50. back to back was some weak pussy shit. Drake does rap and act with a certain edge if not ''gangster''. Talking about catching bodies, sampling gunshots, and he gun totes all the time. Look at gis lame corny Energy video. His ''goons'' in the back and they're all with lean cups and Drake making gun signs...Foh. 😄
1.) Avalanche The Architect - Got your self a gun 2.) Canibus - Second round knock out 3.) 50 Cent - Wangster 4.)Nas - Your self a gun 5.)Tim dog - Fuck ComptonAnd yes I said Avalanche - Got your self a gun! he did it first
10 years from now... People won't be talking about Back 2 Back like Ether, Hit Em Up and countless other diss tracks. The jabs on Back 2 Back don't even cut as harshly as most of the other diss tracks Ja named. People only mention B2B because it is the first major on wax beef record that we have heard in a while... That's IT!
7 years later the biggest burn on the track is "I don't wanna hear about this ever again, not even when she tell him that they better as friends" because that prediction worked out.
1. Loose change 2. Dre day 3. Long kiss goodnight 4. The sauce 5. Takeover + Ether (can't decide. Ether is aggressive but Takeover is clever too, and underrated).
"Second Round K.O." was a Top 40 hit diss record that put LL's credibility in question until he came back with "Rip The Jacker". Canibus fell from grace and was destroyed by Dizaster BUT from '96 to 2000-ish he was one of the most respected lyricists in the game from underground to mainstream. Anyone who was around back then knows that.
Back to back is a nerdy type diss song, a real diss song is a gangsta hardcore type dissing, Drake is like the nerd at school dat finally got the guts and confidence and beated up on the bully
Even Charlamagne, the Drake HATER for the centuries, says its top 5 diss records of all time. Back to Back is a fire record dissing someone who was once considered a heavyweight in the game! He went off, its in heavy rotation, shit is classic. Rap dont always haveto be so "gangster" Drake made a crazy diss record.
Jeffrey, please. So you just gon act like 50's disses weren't spinnin' out of control? Is _Back to Back_ really dope or do you have a rapport to maintain? I thought it was corny. It pales in comparison to _Ether_ and them. I have one that nobody ever thinks about- _Big Mama_ by Roxanne Shanté.
In my opinion, for a record to be a good diss record, it also has to be a fuckin hit record that everyone has heard, IN MY OPINION. So hit em up, back to back, ether, are all records that a majority of rap fans have heard. There are amazing diss records out there, where one dude destroys the other dude, but if a lot of people don't hear it, then it can't be judged on a big scale. Meek and drake was perfect, jay and nas was perfect, 50 cent and rick ross was perfect even though neither of them made a "hit em up" type song, in terms of the views, but those type of beefs are golden, 50 and ja was kind of to be honest, behind closed doors for the most part. For instance, a dude that is beefing with another dude in the hood, and one dude bodies the other dude, it isn't really that great because it's not on a huge scale right? Even though one dude may have straight killed the other dude bar for bar, the overall impact and scale of the record really matters to me and must be brought into consideration, because overall there are tons of dudes who killed their competition on a diss record, but they're not famous enough for it to matter right? Clearly based on everyone's top 5's that seems to be the case, so judge the beefs on the star power of the artists within the beef instead of judging the best 5 diss records, if you understand what I mean.
Viper If thats the case why arent some hood beefs where someone killed the other dude bar wise put into a top 5? The top 5 is always famous people right? ALWAYS.
ramp622 that's because people know about the famous ones. I agree that it needs to be a beef that people know, but that being said, just coz people know a certain beef doesn't make it the best. Especially since top 5s are all opinion. The dude who watched the rap battle in the hood might have that in his top 5 where as I might have a famous rap diss in my top 5 coz it's about what the person has seen. How popular the rap is is irrelevant it's about how good it is

Hail Mary (Eminem)

Jarule: What is your top 5?
Me: All 50 cent disses against you
Everybody who denies back to back being one of the top diss tracks don't understand.... and it don't have to make top 5 but it's up there.... Drake never went out of line and acted like a killer like he would shoot meek or any of that bs cuz he ain't about that life but he thrashed meek when he compared their careers and sparked meek bout being a gangster on Twitter and nothin else... He proved his dominance over meek. And if you don't respect that then you don't know or respect hip hop.
word.
drake aint HipHop he's a bitch
Drake ain't hip hop
+Connor Riley thank you!
1.) Avalanche The Architect - Got your self a gun 2.) Canibus - Second round knock out 3.) 50 Cent - Wangster 4.)Nas - Your self a gun 5.)Tim dog - Fuck ComptonAnd yes I said Avalanche - Got your self a gun! he did it first
"charlamagne got a name drop in it so he was happy" i lol at that for some reason
That's IT!
How you didn’t get a like for this comment for 6 years is beyond me. This is FACTS
7 years later the biggest burn on the track is "I don't wanna hear about this ever again, not even when she tell him that they better as friends" because that prediction worked out.
Life's on the line is literally one the best of all time
All these beef songs and nobody says Dj Quik's Dollaz and Sense.. That's one of my favorites..
Hey uh Ja? Remember that song called Back Down? By Mr 50 Cent??
MC RHYMES what about hailies revenge
Paulos Kidane hey remember when i asked for your opinion? cuz I don't.
eminem still gets the chills over that "loose change"
“No Vaseline” was the biggest dis track ever…
Lol my man forgot all eminems and 50 cents diss tracks to him 😂😂😂
1. Loose change
2. Dre day
3. Long kiss goodnight
4. The sauce
5. Takeover + Ether (can't decide. Ether is aggressive but Takeover is clever too, and underrated).
1-hit em up
2- real muthapphunking g's
3-No Vaseline
4-ether
5-watch ya mouth
Rap Fatos no certain order
anytime i see someone asking Ja Rule on his opinion, I laugh and remember Dave Chappelle and his skit about 9/11 and TRL asking for Ja's opinion LMFAO
jadakiss top 3 wit battle songs yall buggin dont nobody want work wit son!
Checkmate is in my top 5, it was a cold murder of 50.
Jada records was dope and probably better then some other ones but didn't have the impact as others.
Ja rule has some of the best records ever . I like 50 too . But I never stop liking Ja cause 50 came out dissin. Ja is a legend
i feel what he saying about Who shot ya cuz the timing was perfect
I'm from the East Coast and I'd still put DJ Quik's "Dollar N Sense" over "Takeover" and "Back to Back"
Drizzy the face of hip-hop in the 2010's
1. Ether
2. No vaseline
3. Hit em up
4. The bridge is over
5. Hailies Revenge
.10000 back to back
"Second Round K.O." was a Top 40 hit diss record that put LL's credibility in question until he came back with "Rip The Jacker".
Canibus fell from grace and was destroyed by Dizaster BUT from '96 to 2000-ish he was one of the most respected lyricists in the game from underground to mainstream.
Anyone who was around back then knows that.
He was going at Wyclef
In my opinion the best diss record is No Vaseline. I remember when No Vaseline came out everybody was talking about that. It had so much hype.
Back to back is a nerdy type diss song, a real diss song is a gangsta hardcore type dissing, Drake is like the nerd at school dat finally got the guts and confidence and beated up on the bully
kdentonjm
Still a diss track and still killed meek mill
L lol you tried too hard
dave chappelle: somebody plzzzz....get ja on the phone..i need to make scene of all this...help me ja rulee 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
back to back gets played at my favorite bar the whole place raps it...
jon ericson Okay so?
That dope G
Even Charlamagne, the Drake HATER for the centuries, says its top 5 diss records of all time. Back to Back is a fire record dissing someone who was once considered a heavyweight in the game! He went off, its in heavy rotation, shit is classic. Rap dont always haveto be so "gangster" Drake made a crazy diss record.
Jon AGE Kunstadt Charlamagne punk ass know he only saying that because Drake gave him a name drop
Y'all saying b2b was whack but y'all gotta remember that b2b was one of the best diss track in that era 👏👏
Charlemagne woulda said "back down" and "I smell pussy" just because jarule was right there, Vlad caught amnesia for a minute...
300 Bars
"Come get me, if you motherfuckers want Shady. If Pac was still here now, he would never ride with Ja. Na, na, na, na, na, na"
There's something off about Ja. Like he's just not believable.
1. Hit em up - 2pac
2. Ether - Nas
3. Real muthafucking Gs - Eazy E
4. No Vaseline - Ice cube
5. Life's on the line - 50 cent.
I like ja but he didn't want to mention back down and wanksta lol even though I'd personally say they are defo top 10
thanks for showing love to KRS ONE.
Insert any eminem diss here
Jeffrey, please.
This solidifies his top stop as biggest cornball in hip hop history.
Dre Day got HEAVY rotation and VIDEO play...
Clearly based on everyone's top 5's that seems to be the case, so judge the beefs on the star power of the artists within the beef instead of judging the best 5 diss records, if you understand what I mean.
ramp622 just no.
Diss records aren't determined by how popular they are, they are determined by how good the bars are.
How popular the rap is is irrelevant it's about how good it is
Viper Shut yo girl scout cookie buyin ass up
ramp622 lol you realised you were wrong and just said a random insult while trying to act black
1. Hit em up 2.
Ether 3. Kill shot 4. Wanksta 5. 2nd round tko 6. Dre day 7. The take over 8.hailes revenge 9. Bomb first 10. God bless the dead 11. All out 12. Back down
Greatest Diss Record of All Time ( Canibus - Second Round K.O. )
No Vaseline by ice cube 😩👏 "Got damn, I'm glad Yall set it off.. "
Can't respect a rapper who actually thinks back to back was good
Viper you're opinion is very relevant viper, sike bitch no one cares the track was fire drake got bars when it comes to disses
real nigga gods ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha you lost all credibility when you said "sike" like you were a 9 year old
Suppose I shouldn't expect much more from a drake fan
Nas had said he liked Back to Back. So has Busta Rhymes. So has Scarface. All dope emcees. So youre basically saying u don't respect them because they liked Drake's record. Your hip hop card has now been revoked.
