- Many people think that Drakes First loss in Hip Hop was To Pusha-T but the beef that's over looked is his feud with Common! I decided to breakdown the beef in detail in this one.

Drake throws rocks and hides his hand. He had plenty of things to say subliminally and on stage but when he was called out for it and it was time to ACTUALLY get down for real, he completely ducked Common. It’s an undeniable loss.
You're undeniably not smart or pretending to be dumb for engagement lmao Drake smoked him with a classic verse and went on about his career 😂 You think the biggest rapper at this time was gonna go on a 60 part rap battle with a semi old-school rapper on some 8 mile sh!t ? Then common even admitted he was in his feelings cuz Drake smashed serena. Claming this is a Drake L is dumb. Get your views up with drake, it's ok, the content is not bad, but don' be dumb, we got enough dumb youtubers.
For context, imagine Jay-Z going track for track with KRS-One in 2001 if KRS dissed him 😂 You'll see how dumb your point is.
Drake hater!
@@SpectaSaySoyou sound dumb asf it’s rap not fighting. Everything he said is facts. If that’s the case y tf did drake respond at his show and subliminally in stay scheming?! Exactly!!
alright im about to drop a diss track on you and mention your name and if you don't respond back, I win and im the better rapper. Moron.
Asserting that nobody looked at Common as a "tough guy" because he didn't portray himself as a gangster or make music about being so is kind of wild. Masculinity isn't defined by criminality. There's plenty of "soft" guys in prison.
I’m not saying that it’s about criminality. But when it comes down to his music (which was 40’s argument) he wasn’t the best person to be calling anyone “soft” or “sweet”. Are you familiar with his catalogue?
Unless you’re from Chicago and of a certain age you know common and where he’s from. I’m from the crib and in my mid 40’s common was a 4CH (4 Corner Hustler) from the crib. He’s of the old school pedigree of rappers before NWA came on the scene. It’s like he don’t need to promote the thug in his music real G’s didn’t rap about the life . If you know you know. Look up Chicago 4 corner hustlers.
@@whatsthedirt check out the old Combat Jack (R.I.P.) podcast with common speaking on his affiliation with the 4
@@whatsthedirt Oooh ok I get it. How could Common call Drake “sweet” for his singing material when your biggest hit is “The Light”? However, you did put A LOT of emphasis on acting “hard” & criminology being essential “masculine” traits to be respected in Hip Hop, which is an uncultured take & to the original commenter’s point, just wrong.
@DevZeppalin Where was he singing in "The Light"? If you're talking about the chorus, that's literally a sample of Bobby Caldwell's "Open your eyes".
Bro, Common took on all of the West Coast, shat on Ice Cube and NWA…. Y’all are missing out on the fact that Common CHOSE to be kind
FRFR ON GOD!!! YOU WOULD NEVER!!!!! SEE OR HEAR AUBREY TALKING SHIT ABOUT CUBE, OR EAZY, OR DRE, OR DUB C, MACK 10 , SNOOP ETC ETC HE WOULD NEVER HAVE THE BALLS TO SAY ANYTHING LIKE COMMON!! IF DRAKE WENT AT NWA CALLIN ONE OF THEIR MOMS A BITCH, WE'D NEVER HEAR FROM HIM AGAIN!!!

Common is super confident and comfortable in his lane. Him and Chicago rappers apparently dont need to appear like gangsters. I've never ever felt that Common lacks masculinity.
Speaking of Chicago my alltime favorite rapper is Twista.
I hate how outsiders to the culture get this so twisted. Seeing Common as somehow soft is a mistake we don't make in these very neighborhoods Drake wish he was from. And idk who this youtuber is, but Common .... and Drake.... are nowhere near the same galaxies of cultural respect, or hip hop respect. Drake just richer.

@@kasalwemusonda6325 he literally said common isn’t exactly the picture of masculinity. I think he shoulda chose better words. Common grew up in the streets and has the experience to prove it but he doesn’t have to rap about that anymore because he’s grown and made a way out.

I think, when it comes to Common, this Canadian youtuber just doesn't know what he's talking about.
"You ain't wettin' nobody, you Canada Dry." Common ended "aubrey" with that line alone.
Common was never considered soft. He's just a conscious rapper. Conscious rappers aren't soft. They just don't fake being thugs for the industry. You got that twisted. No one considers Black Thought, KRS ONE, or Chuck D soft.
Real G’s move in silence. Common ain’t never tried to be a thug, but hey never carried himself as non-masculine. And he rolled with real life hustlers from the Chi, but don’t overplay it.
He never backed down from a conflict, he always said names when he wanted to/ challenged and returned volleys lyrically.
He waxed Westside Connection by HIMSELF and made folks respect his pen. He ATE Cube. One of most feared MCs at the time. With ease.

I love that Drake constantly wants people to say things to his face even though he never does!
Common gotta be the softest rapper since Bow Wow.
@@BlackFaithProduction😂Common in is not softer than Drake😂😂
Eminem said “You mention me? Millions of views attention in news. I mention you, lose-lose for me,win-win for you billions of views”
Like your breakdowns but masculinity and being a thug are two different things. There are plenty of positive masculine men who are far from thugs and thug behavior. Common makes good music that pushes positive vibes and love. Ain’t nothing feminine about that!
I think it takes way bigger balls to own your masculinity NOT coming across as a G inside of this realm.
@blammela and to do it in Chicago with full confidence, it is not soft sweet or feminine or fake... it's just a man being himself.
Why are all these people from other countries and rural or suburban areas so determined to quantify the AA city community experience? I grew up on the eastside of Detroit. While I had a great childhood overall, I don't suggest anyone sign up for the experiences we went through there.
Why.... is evryone so obsessed with our culture and experiences to the point they feel they can tell US about US?!
Common performed "Bitch in Yoo" in LA at the House of Blues at a time where things really did happed to rappers. I looked at Common with more reverence than gangster rappers bc he was low key but also willing to jump when rappers got froggish.
Yeah. See this is why not just anybody can report on rap...Common is from the west side of Chi. & Nobody EVER questioned if he was hip hop...........EVER. .
Facts. I was wondering what he was talking about myself lol. Apparently, he didn't hear the Ice Cube diss either. We built a little different in Chicago. Built off of that mob mentality. There's strength in silence.

Thank you for emphasizing rapping during beefs. People wanna brag about the numbers and it's okay if you don't bother anything or claim you're the best at rapping, because once you do that then you have to show by rapping why you're at the top. Otherwise, it's for other things and not for outrapping the competition.

I like how u put this material out. First, by analysis, since this is more or less doubling as a hip hop channel and a podcast channel on UA-cam referencing what’s really going on in hip hop today, I’d say to not let your guard down on drake. People are buying his albums. Talking about him. Streaming his records. Relating to it more than they relate to others. He’s the talk of the year and even the decade. And in each record he drops, he always disses rappers. Before u released the video on the drake v Kendrick beef, he typically dissed Kendrick again. And again. The next record, he will keep dissing. He is like a ho that had too many niggas bang him wrong. So he puts out his frustrations on record and many relate to it quickly. Plus common is right about one thing - Drake releases ho music. And Common is just one of the few rappers that will call Drake out by name. Drake only hides behind subliminals and it is really good when u gave a crash course on how rap beef works. No one can force Kendrick or Common to release new albums. We are all hoping that those two bring out something good very soon. And that’s because I, for an example, am very tired of listening to one rapper dominating the charts with pillow rap music. One minute, a good dope rapper drops material that should be talked about and the streams comes short. The next minute, drake releases predictable music and everyone be like drake did this and drake did that.
It’s tiring.
