I hope not. There are no real consequences in this show anymore. Ruby literally committed suicide in front of Yang and Yang hardly had a reaction and continued to be relatively calm in the ep after that. This shows done done. Nothing hits

I’m hoping that Jaune returns to normal age but retains his maturity and maybe the forger will fixed his sword with adding Penny’s swords as a sign of carrying her spirit just like Pyrrha with his shield 🤔that would be awesome 🤩
Yeah I hoping for him to throw his shield at his opponents like Pyrrha and also if Jaune age back does that mean he experience a longer life more than his average lifespan?

Did anyone else think that the blacksmith might be Alex? It would match with her desire to fix all that she caused.
I think Jaune will meet ruby and say the same thing weiss said to him but also apologize for his words and let's her make her own choice and says "pick what you want and I be there to help you like you did before ".
I think ruby will return but in a new form, I’m betting it’s gonna take form with ruby’s silver eyes at the center of it, and taking on an appearance similar to the mother who by the looks of it from the weapon was based off the lumberjack that says red riding hood or ruby will take a shape with the silver eyes and a different fairy tail creature giving her character design inspiration
I doubt the blacksmith (or the tree, I forgot what they're called) would make Ruby forget her main goal. Like the paper pleasers she'll retain that same goal but perhaps help relieve Ruby of her strife on being the main source of solutions, maybe even figurtively maturing her to the same level as her friends. Because remember she was only a child when she joined beacon, with her "special" status it was difficult for her to just be "Ruby" she suddenly had to become "Ruby the hero of remnant".
Personally I also believe Little is going to return as a Stoat, they're commonly associated with courage and being protectors. They're also capable of taking down animals 10x their size, say for example cats. Personally this volume isn't one of my favorites, but I can't deny that they're really reaching the limit before bringing up an even larger climax/obstacle.
I feel like this is the most likely case. Ruby retains her memories but mature to the same age as her teammates. May even evolve her semblance to a higher level and/or master her silver eyes better. I highly doubt she "become" her mother, as that would be character death, and you don't do that to the main protagonist of a show.
So in short she might come back as a "normal girl with normal knees" 😉

Maybe it's like a Gandalf situation. He went from grey to white, so Ruby goes from Ruby to Silver. Maybe not name wise because branding, but appearance wise.
She didn't decide that she was ready to ascend in the last episode, she gave up... otherwise she wouldn't be in a void, getting help from the Tree about what to do next. Ruby doesn't want to be the hero anymore, because she keeps losing and getting blamed. And the weight of leadership and responsibility, and always being the last to fall and first to stand, is finally crushing her. Being the fairytale hero was her whole identity, so now she's having inner conflict, like when Zuko became a good guy in the Last Airbender...
And Lucifer never wanted to help... he was jealous of humanity and tried to rule us while playing God. How is that anything like Jaune, who was using a fragile and suicidal race to give his life meaning?
I'd personally interested to see if we get a scene of Ruby and Jaune working on upgrading their weapons with the Blacksmith's help.
Listening to this now, i truly hope Neo ascends, but on an emtional level. Retaining her memories like Ruby as she finds something to care for. Even if its just "i have to right my wrongs"

Ascension has more in common with evolution than reincarnation, based on how the Paper Pleasers became the Genial Gems.
i love the idea of ascension conceptually but this feels like an easy way out for the writers to change a character without writing a compelling let alone convincing narrative to show how they achieved such enlightenment towards an aspect of their life. Every rwby character has a 1-note character trauma and they admitted to that in this season by still referencing old character arcs that shouldn't be relevant at this point as if a character can only have one trauma to get over then thats it.
Ruby has had a depression arc since the 4th season but its not been very compelling or interesting cause they dont know how to write a character in depth. There is a lack of direction for characters inter-personal relationships, development, and their path in life. Its not interesting when yang and blake are together cause now they mainly and only interact with one another aside from quips exchanged every so often amongst others, its literally just been blake and yang getting closure on adam then becoming a couple while barely having a relationship with the other characters. Just think what kind of relationship dynamic does blake and weiss have? Barely one aside from exchanging supportive pleasantries.
Miles and kerry clearly dont know what theyre doing and its embarrassing that theyre still the leads of crwby despite clearly lacking vision in so many essential story aspects.
Tbh I believe she will look roughly the same but inherit more of her mother Summer's personality as she saw Summer as the hero she desperately looked up to taking her brave yet kind spirit which is why Summer's Axe was there to show not a physical transformation but a mental one where she can be the carefree hero Summer was though if she inherits her own memories we don't know as far as we know you have the option to as the Blacksmith gave Ruby the choice to become who she wanted to be probably including the memories as well.

I hope nothing. I hope she realizes that she need to be herself and she Is good enough regardless of all her mistakes.
This would be a great lesson for kids who are thinking of transitioning that they don't have to Change magically or surgically to be complete. They are enough just the way they are and they are beautiful. Just keep trying your beat and be your best self.
I appreciate your intention ehich is wanting kids to be themselves, but I think you misunderstood how transitioning works.
The way you worded it your understanding seems to be that transitioning "changes the internal gender so it matches what society sees them as."
However transitioning is the opposite. Changing what people on the outside see so it more closely matches the inside.
Sometimes non-medical stuff is all that's needed. But for others who do need it, medication and surgery can be helpful tools in helping a trans person be seen for who they are.
It's like the paper pleasers. They wanted to help out, and be seen as helpers, but they had to accend into the gems in order to do that more easily, and be taken more seriously. They're still the same characters that want to help but they now have the ability to be seen as that, rather than " paper star servant babies."

@CandiCraveingCloude you sound confused. You are the way you're born. If you're born a boy you're a boy. If you're born a girl you're a girl. The paper pleasers better themselves. They became stronger and better versions of themselves. They didn't change to become better. Changing genders doesn't help anyone and It makes people realize they are who they are no matter how many surgeries and changes they make.

While I agree for like all of this, I do think Ruby will come out a bit changed in appearance. Becoming Summer like many have theorized? No. But I do think it may be a cross/fusion of Ruby and her mom. But I don't think she will BECOME her. But I do think she will meet her mom as part of her ascension and maybe have a heart to heart with her. Realizing what she needs to be and what to let go of. I think she will emerge much stronger mentally , with a new sense of purpose, resolve and a better head on her shoulders, smarter. Maybe even an evolved semblance, like Neo had. I also think she will be wielding a weapon similar to Summer's, not hers exactly, but like it.
Im personally treating ascension as Doctor Who regeneration when a human/faunus does it.

There's so much I don't agree with in this video. Ruby didn't drink the tea because she wanted to ascend. She drank it because she wanted to stop existing altogether. She didn't want to be herself or even be anymore. Even when she's in the tree, she's not ready to ascend nor does she even know how to. She feels everything is too much weight on her shoulders. She's not actively trying to ascend. Why else would Roman/Neo tell her "wouldn't the world be better off without you?"
The biblical references are a reach from nowhere. Juane being Adam? Alyx and Lewis being Cain and Abel? This volume is Alice in Wonderland themed, not Alice in Wonderland ft Jesus. Juane is the white rabbit, full stop. Alyx and Lewis are 2 for 1 Alice, period. I'm surprised you didnt compare the cat to the serpeant in the garden of eden and say something dumb like "the cat seemed helpful, but was actually deceiving ruby and co the whole time, much like the serpeant did to Eve".

The problem is now the series has been green lit for only one more season after this and hits been heavily hinted she will turn into her mother and leaked images say the same thing. But that’s the issue we have at most 1-3 episodes to learn about this new Ruby and best guess most of the next episode will be fighting so we wont get any plot info properly about this new Ruby and only one more season to learn about her, gather the maidens, find the last relic & defeat Salem honestly the show feels as if it has given up and unless it goes Ruby coming out with just a new outfit and weapon but she is herself the show will tank badly they have to much to do in best guess 16 more episodes

I don't like the idea of Jaune reverting to his younger body while keeping his memories; either he goes back without memories, or he accept his current self and his experiences and moves forward.
favorite volume? for me its been the worst. Or is it that people like conflict and despair so much that creates good storylines? Yeah, that may be true. But for me this volume has been heavy, and hope has never really been strong this volume. the final episode of volume 9 better have SOME hope
