"So finally the destiny I chose for you has arrived" "You chose nothing. This was a gift". I STILL CRY EVERYTIME I WATCH THIS SCENE WHYYYY It's so powerful, yet devastating. What a great volume!
I was cringing so hard at how stupid winter was with this pitiful attempt to make ironwood Denethor. Because he literally did choose winter to be the winter maiden and boom!
@@wholesome_masochist4113 I was cringing at the fact she didn't run into the smoke real quick and take his head off to make sure he's dead. H's definitely going to cause problems later just like Taurus.
@@wholesome_masochist4113 You misinterpreted the plot. The status of maiden can only be passed down to someone directly exposed to the Maiden's power or personally passed down by a previous Maiden. Ironwood couldn't choose a damn thing, he just thought he did because he was a control freak who thought he had more control over things than he did. Winter becoming a Maiden was a final gift from Penny, not something he could choose in any way he wanted.
I am amazed at how almost criminally people under-reacted to Qrow trying to radio Ruby and Yang was at 4:49. Between the solo piano tones, and that you could literally see the panic on his face and could imagine hearing the same panic in his voice when there was no response, and then the climax of him witnessing the cascade of water crashing into the city, and the realization that his nieces were probably gone. As a dad, I felt every damn second of that.
Honestly, the entire scene of Atlas falling was just....so haunting. The slow descent, piano, grating impact, flooding and Qrow + Crew's reaction really hammered just how horrible it was.
Even though I have big issues with how they handled Penny this season I have to admit that the final scene between her and Winter was probably my favorite of the season. It was a really beautiful moment between two friends. Also I like how evrything came full circle when Winter ultimately got the Maiden powers in the end.
If a silver eyed person used their power on a recently silver eyed turned Grimm do you think the not Grimm parts could still survive? Cause I think we're meant to assume the hound had been Grimm for years. Or does the Grimm darkness kill the body host immediately? How did Salem only think to turn silver eyed people into Grimm now? She's had like millenia to figure that out.
They'll live. They aren't about to kill one of the main four characters, Neo could die but i find it unlikely considering the fact that RT understands how popular she is. I'd personally be absolutely ecstatic if Neo joined the good guys. All Ruby has to do to get that going is prove that she didn't kill Roman, and that a grimm did it.
@@zacharymabb4873 Penny was super popular and so was Pyrrha, but they had no care in the world when they killed them both off. I doubt they would mind killing off Neo.
I don't know if it counts as a fight though. After all, Neo didn't try to attack her, and she only got hit because she was protecting Ruby. ... although, in an actual fight there's a good chance she would still lose.
The best bit about it is that Cinder completely deserved it. She has been fucking up time and time again over the last few volumes. Even her greatest achievement (the fall of Beacon) was tainted as she got seriously fucked up by Ruby at the end. It was starting to annoy me that she had this arrogant entitled attitude despite her losses and Watts, believing he was about to die, decided to call out on her bullshit. It was my favourite moment of the volume for me.
Watts telling off Cinder was absolute gold. As much as I love her character, I'm glad he brought all her losses and greed to the surface. She deserved it.
I’m just gonna say it, Volume 8 was the best volume since Volume 4. I know not everyone will agree with me, but this was definitely my favorite volume yet and I cannot wait to see where this show goes from here
I agree completely. The plot, characters and fight scenes were all much more refined this season compared to the last few that we've had (though the lattermost still had their low moments, especially Penny's treatment). For the first time since season 4, I actually was excited for each of the new episodes.
I agree with that for the most part. The intro DID make a lot of events very predictable in this volume, but it really did feel like a long, well made RWBY movie
As much as I will miss Penny and hurt from how she was treated this Vol bc she’s my fav character. I say I think it kinda fits the tone of the Vol. this vol is really dark and many things the heroes plan didn’t go their way and really it shouldn’t. From Amity, the escape Atlas plan, losing the relics. Penny had so much to potential for the future from being human to have a semblance and feeling more about being human. But it was robbed from her, her future was robbed away and I personally feel it fits the Vol. things we expect and want don’t end up that way. That’s just what I think
I think that the Hound finding Oscar was probably my favorite part of the season. How we didn't get a clear image of the Hound at first and Oscar's pure desperation trying to fight it off. It was extremely scary.
As much as I liked the scene where Yang and Ruby talked about Summer, I thought they would also fully make up after the argument they had earlier in the season. Other than that, I still like this scene and it's another great video
The argument where Yang blamed Ruby for decisions she and Blake made without consulting anyone? Yang didn't wanna bring it up because she knew she was wrong >.>

Some of my favorite moments in volume 8 is actually all the scenes with Oscar. We didn’t see him a whole bunch last volume so him getting some development: trying to divide Salem’s forced while being physically tortured, succeeding with Hazel and Emerald, finally working together with Oz when he’s been at odds with him this entire time but finally realizing that Oz does care and only wants to help and even defends Oz to Jaune and Yang while _also_ blowing up Monstra and killing Salem for a few hours was some of the best scenes ever in the show. To me Oscar definitely carried this volume for me.
If we ever get another hound Grimm or something like it, Summer will no doubt be the host. Poor Ruby cannot handle anymore problems after this volume. Any bet she will say that in volume 9 when she wakes up in the new world?
I get why people have problems with Volume 8, and it isnt perfect with most moments, but I think it was a great volume. Had a lot of great moments, action, fights, and the ending feels more like a big set-up for Volume 9. Im sure most events people hate from Volume 8 will be resolved or understood in Volume 9.
You have a *lot* of optimism & faith in this fandom--rather misplaced, though. The dislike of Vol.3 lasted for 2-3 *years,* until dislike of Vol.5 replaced it. That hate is still going on, 3 years down the line--but Vol.8 dislike is rapidly catching up!

Watts verbally destroying Cinder reminds me of mike telling walter how he messed things up, but its 100x better and conder doesnt kill watt because she knows he's right
Very good list! I agree with all these choices! This is definitely one of the best Post-Volume 3 seasons and that’s coming from someone who loved Volume 7. Come to think of it, Volumes 7&8 are back to back my favorite seasons

While the fall of Atlas is quite melancholy, some part of me still feels hopeful whenever I see it. With Atlas's fall, a new dawn is possible, one without the oppressive hierarchies of the old kingdom.

I Hope We haven't seen the last of ironwood and that he gets some sort of redemption arc, he was always an interesting character that kinda came into his own over the last season, A pragmatic man that was willing to sacrifice it all for victory, eventually being brought down by his seeming lack of empathy on another note, ive often wondered about when the human inside the hound was saying "take the girl" was that him repeating his orders out loud? or was it him telling the girls to take the girl and run before the evil overtook him again?
Juane's crazy fun. and has gotten good. Yang trusted him to get to her. and he did. a bit clumsy but he got it done. Then... tthey're fallikng? He could have let Yang go and held his sword. nope. He chose to let go of the sword over Yang. Presumably thinking ahead like he does a lot now... and intending to glide/gravity hop to save her and take the entire fall himself with his aura. though between yang's aura power and his amount of aura. I think they could have tanked the fall

I record the scenes manually using OBS and on the RoosterTeeth website.
@@ImStrange_ Thanks, i can found this app un okay store?
@@Dian-lb6lk Can you repeat the question, but with less stroke?
@@crimsonxero5924 Sorry, my English is not very good
Volume 8 is actually okay as an ‘out of context cinematic experience’ even if it’s not exactly the Kingdom Heartsy Over the top trampoline factory battles that Monty would’ve done.
16. The first time we saw the Volume Opening
I really like Watt's Speech!!
The Invasion of Atlas gives me major chills
I can't choose just one..... This Volume was just THAT INCREDIBLE!!! LOL Thank you again, I'mStrange..... You keep posting content that moves the soul and entrance the mind! 😎👍🌹👏👏👏
My favorite volume
I thought Penny becoming a human was a great part of the volume.
i originally thought salem was rapunzel but now she reminds me of frankenstein
This volume is similar to Avenger:Infinity war, right?
SORRY BUT VINE DIED SO SOMEONE NAMED MUSICALLY IS GON DIE AND TOCK IS LONG DEAD AND THAT JUST LEAVES TIK. SO I WONDER IF THERES A NEW Character of RWBY NAMED TIK
They're made of people! _Soylent Grimm_ is made of people!
Has anyone every addressed the idea that actually getting two maiden powers might actually kill Cinder? Like can a human handle that much in one body.
I mean, Ozpin and Salem can. Then again, Ozpin was there when magic was normal, and Salem is an immortal being now. So idk...
I Hope We haven't seen the last of ironwood and that he gets some sort of redemption arc, he was always an interesting character that kinda came into his own over the last season, A pragmatic man that was willing to sacrifice it all for victory, eventually being brought down by his seeming lack of empathy
on another note, ive often wondered about when the human inside the hound was saying "take the girl" was that him repeating his orders out loud? or was it him telling the girls to take the girl and run before the evil overtook him again?
Juane's crazy fun. and has gotten good. Yang trusted him to get to her. and he did. a bit clumsy but he got it done.
Then... tthey're fallikng? He could have let Yang go and held his sword. nope. He chose to let go of the sword over Yang.
Presumably thinking ahead like he does a lot now... and intending to glide/gravity hop to save her and take the entire fall himself with his aura.
though between yang's aura power and his amount of aura. I think they could have tanked the fall
26:34 if ruby is talking on the broadcast the who the hell is sitting next to blake(on her left)?
It was pre-recorded.
@@ImStrange_ oh that actually makes sense! Thanks for clarifying that
