To be honest I've already watched a lot of movies, movies of all kinds, and yet, with my 18 years, I can honestly say that Spirit is the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. It's not just the way they portrayed the horses and made us understand them without making them talk (which always looks rather silly), but it's also the topics of freedom, love, sense of self and brotherhood and of course this wonderful, beautiful, groundbreaking music that makes me cry the second I hear it, that make this movie perfect. I've never seen a movie that did not have one useless scene or one scene that was not emotional and bringing tears in your eyes as this movie has. And I'm not even exaggerating. I already have to cry at the start of the movie when the eagle flies across the landscape. And the dialogue... don't even let me start on it, it's perfect as well. They manage to bring across a lot of different things by only a few single beautiful words. And this movie also has just the right amount of funny scenes - not too much to make it look less serious and ridiculous but not too less to take away the happiness. Really, there's nothing unnecessary in this movie and nothing ridiculous. When I say this movie is perfect I mean it by the exact definition of the word. This kind of movies and music will never die, I will always carry them in my heart and we definitely need more of it. Peace out.
tbh i haven't seen the movie in a while and i seriously thought the horses were able to talk..because i had the feeling they did. The movie really lets you undergo so many feelings and understand them by just watching, not hearing a "real " dialogue. I completely agree with your comment.
I watched this when I was in high school I was 12 years old I had depression and ptsd and really dark place but this film gave me so much strength I'm now 33 and this move still gives me strength it's a masterpiece
@@wise_soul8886could be true in the UK, I left school when I was 15 because my birthday is in the beginning of August. It isn't uncommon to be 12 and in high school in the UK.
I've never heard this song before. I was told this was a perfect song for Arthur Morgan and John Marston from Red Dead Redemption... and it's so true. It's such a bittersweet song. How can a song make me happy AND sad at the same time????
You won't hear it unless you watch the end credits, it's the VERY VERY VERY last song. I only heard it the last time I watched, since I forgot to turn the movie off at the end. Had never heard it before-- FOR YEARS
Same! This movie was my childhood and I still absolutely love it. It always had a special place in my heart. The story, the animation and the soundtrack is just so beautiful.
This will forever be my favorite movie i have ever seen. I cry every time I watch it from the incredible sadness, joy, celebration, dedication, courage, love, and so much more. Thank you who ever made this movie. It so deserves a sequel I just never want it to end. The music is perfect and so heartfelt I cry just listening to it apart from the movie. The animation is really great and I love how the horses don't talk to one another in English, but you can tell vaguely what they're saying. It's emotional communication, so humans can understand animals if we try. I feel like one of the points of the movie is to do exactly that. Try to understand them and remember that we took they're land and made it our own without consideration of them. One of the worst mistakes my race has ever made. You don't own anyone. No matter what species, color of skin, two legs, four, or eight. Trust is what bonds us. Owning draws us farther apart and holds us in captivity against our will... (Continued below)
Now that all these amazing wild and free animals have been tamed they don't know what it's like to be truly free. Then again, neither do we. I wish I could have lived without all these "comforts" of the modern world an just been free. Yes, it was dangerous and hard work, but worth it. No one was lazy when the animals were free. Way back, thy had to choose us. We were friends. The wolves, wild horses, and more became our friends. But as we grew in "power" we stopped having patience to gain their trust and started trying to take them by force. Biggest mistake we've ever made. I am forever sorry to the animals we have hurt and ripped away from their families. And I'm sorry for what we've become. We have advanced in so many ways, but has it really been worth losing the untouched land and free spirits inside as all? I've thought about this often. To me, this is more than a movie. I'm not sure what it is, but I know that it's special. Yah, special for sure. :)
I can't believe it's already been 18 years since this came out. God, I feel so old and I'm only going on 26. I was roughly 7 when my dad took me to see it. Obviously the movie is great. Best movie from my childhood, honestly. What really caught my attention though, was the music. Like HOLY. $h!+ that soundtrack/album is phenomenal, man. Without a doubt, my favorite one of all time.
Twenty years ago tomorrow is this movie's anniversary, and I still remember it and its music as if it were yesterday. Part of this is due to the strong emotional connection I have to it, and to horses, thanks to my mother, which I won't go into, but it's also a testament to the amazing animation, voice work, character, story, and especially music. The historical background and context, the environmental message, the themes of love, friendship, forgiveness, and brotherhood, it all comes through so well through direction and choreography (it's all animated but it still involves choices by the artists and director in that regard), emotion and expression, the few but well-chosen and placed bits of dialogue (Silence is Golden, indeed), and again...the songs. I still find it telling that, like "The Lion King" with "The Circle of Life", the initial trailers for Spirit were nothing but the opening scene and "Homeland", a song that has always gotten me choked up and always will. The leitmotif Zimmer came up with for it, based on "This is Where I Belong/I Will Always Return", strikes such an emotional depth it can't be described. But as amazing as all of the score and songs are (especially the incomparable "Sound the Bugle"), this one is something special. For one thing, it doesn't appear in the movie itself save for as isolated parts of the score for scenes with Little Creek and Spirit (particularly their parting), which I think is a shame. But that also meant I wasn't expecting it in the credits. After the strong but mostly feel-good performance of Mr. Adams' rendition of "Here I Am", followed by the sweet duet with Sarah McLachlan, "Don't Let Go", I did not expect the whammy "Brothers Under the Sun" laid on me. Obviously the thoughts and feelings expressed between Little Creek and Spirit in the lyrics are meaningful and poignant, but there's something about the very sparse and isolating instrumentation, and the yearning, pensive way Mr. Adams performs it that has always stood out to me. It's wistful but also sorrowful, it speaks of something beautiful you will always cherish but which may also be long gone, never to be experienced again--and even if so, it will never be like it once was. I can't place my finger on what it is about the piece...having looked over the sheet music many times, but only being an amateur at musical theory, I can't point out anything that stands out, beyond it being set in a minor key, but the chord structure is amazing, especially during the interlude just before the last verse (it's just eight dotted quarter notes, but the progression at this slow speed is marvelous), I love the gentle touch of the flute to give it that Native air, and I think it's my first exposure to "the triple", a repeated phrase at the end where the notes change just slightly each time. I can definitely say that, plus the chords, made this song one of the first in my memory that truly did give me chills and haunted me for a long time. So this long-winded comment is just to say thank you for the amazing music produced for this movie, for giving us these songs, and especially for touching me with this one.
The uniqueness and charm of classic animation is irreplaceable. The soundtrack is breathtaking. masterpiece!! This movie kicks me every time. It also marks the end of the age of classic 2D animated films that were a gold mine asset. thanks to Bryan Adams and Hans Zimmer for this gift. 2002
B. Adams sang for the french version of this song (and in all the movie actually), and, as a little girl, I was always deeply moved every time I heard it, I still am today This artist is a magician, one of the few able to drop tears from my eyes
Something addictive about this song...Though all the soundtrack to "Spirit" is excellent. Brian Adams of course SO talented. This song... Gives me goosebumps.
I have to admit i cried a couple of times watching this movie. Plus Bryan Adams delivers on the soundtrack. Such beautifully written songs. Can't get enough.
I've seen this film countless times but it always makes me so emotional.. It became my favorite film since the first time I saw it, when I was a little kid.

Spirit is a wonderful film that goes straight to the heart. The storyline and Bryan Adams storytelling through his gorgeous songs make it so very special. ❤

В нем нет ни капли пошлости. Фильм так глубоко передает такие человеческие чувства, как любовь, братство, и, самое главное, ни с чем не передаваемый дух свободы. Действительно самый лучший шедевр всех времён и народов.
When I was just three years old, my dad took me to see "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron," and it was a moment that changed me forever. I was captivated by the story of a wild horse and his journey towards freedom, and the film ignited a passion in me for storytelling and the beauty of nature. As I watched the film unfold, my dad's presence beside me made the experience even more meaningful. He explained the emotions and themes of the movie to me in a way that a three-year-old could understand, and I felt a deep connection with him as we shared in the wonder of the story together. Ever since that day, "Spirit" has held a special place in my heart. The movie taught me the power of perseverance and the importance of fighting for what you believe in, no matter the obstacles. It's a lesson that has guided me throughout my life and helped shape the person I am today. I'm grateful to my dad for taking me to see "Spirit" and for instilling in me a love for stories that inspire and connect us. That day at the movies was a turning point in my life, and I'll always cherish the memory of sharing it with my dad.❤️❤️❤️
Curiosamente, eu estava ouvindo a música "please Forgive-me" do Bryan Adams, e de repente eu percebi que a melodia me lembrava alguma coisa. Então caiu a ficha. No brasil, foi o paulo ricardo quem cantou as músicas do filme Spirit, e só agora percebi que as vozes deles são incrivelmente parecidas.
This is one of my all time favorite animated films, I remember being on vacation memorial day weekend, and taking a night out to see this, in the middle of the film the projector burnt out. Thankfully it got fixed, and and we went back into finish this amazing film, and I'm glad it did. Everything works the films narrative, how the team at dreamworks managed to tell a story without having the animals talk (and yet soooo much is said without them speaking), the animation, and best of all Bryan Adams and Hans zimmer at the music department. Those two are the glue that holds all these together, Hans Zimmer score is beautiful and Bryans singing really in no other words amazing. And I'm very glad that it seems like Bryan hasn't forgotten that he has worked on this movie, judging by the fact that I was very lucky to see him live perform "Here I AM" which I did upload and put on here, but I got a copyright strike. So if anybody wants to see it go to my rumble page and check it out. But thanks Bryan, for remembering this movie because without this movie and Robin hood I probably wouldn't have been introduced to you.
9 years ago this movie was created for the horse crazy young girls that filled the filled the veiwing deomgraphic, now that group of people has grown up and learned that this movie was more than horses running free and a happily ever after. It meant that you have to fight for what you want in life. It's never to come, and that true love can be real. That sometimes, life gets hard, and then sometimes life gets easy. That nothing is constant, life is always changing. Bryan Adams was a prefect pick
I still talk about this film today, my sister watched & loved it when we were kids & I grew up to appreciate it more as a teen & now an adult I couldn't recommend it more to people to watch. It's seriously underrated & overshadowed by other brands & this movie with Bryan Adams & Hans Zimmer is just phenomenal for kids.
I love this movie so much. And I absolutely adore this song - it made me sob once (a few times and kinda right now, too. lol). I just remember annoying the crap out of my little sister by rewinding the tape over and over again to listen to this song. "We are like birds of a feather. We are two hearts joined together. We will be forever as one. My brother, under the sun."
This is a beautiful song about two hearts that should be together. Follow your heart and your dreams, but always remember me. It describes a special friendship, one that time or distance cannot erase ❤
Drift True! As amazing as it would be to return to this movie's spectacular world, everything was wrapped up so meticulously well at the end of the film! Unfortunately, there's an excuse for a sequel in the TV series Spirit Riding Free which BUTCHERS the mythology, has subpar animation, and uninteresting characters! Hopefully, this train wreck of a show does poorly enough that it gets cancelled and the legacy of this wonderful film can be preserved!
The movie spirit has always been a big part of my childhood. every song hits me hard. the emotions in the movie can be felt with out even actually talking, just songs and thoughts. its amazingly beautiful. will always be my favorite movie, no matter how old i get. and i will always cry the same. no matter what.
This film is just.. perfection..
agreed.
I love it too but you gotta admit that the CGI bits REALLY aged fast.....
Agreed
I love just love it!
what CGI bits? I'm pretty sure this was all hand-drawn

Hello from 2023
Tekst piosenki:
I had a dream,
Of the wide open prairie.
I had a dream,
Of the pale morning sky.
I had a dream,
That we flew on golden wings
And we were the same.
Just the same.
You and I.
Follow your heart,
Little child of the west wind.
Follow the voice,
That's calling you home.
Follow your dreams,
But always, remember me.
I am your brother,
Under the sun.
We are like birds of a feather.
We are two hearts joined together.
We will be forever as one.
My brother under the sun.
Whenever you hear,
The wind in the canyon.
Whenever you see,
The buffalo run.
Wherever you go,
I'll be there beside you.
Cause you are my brother,
My brother under the sun.
We are like birds of a feather.
We are two hearts joined together.
We will be forever as one,
My brother under the sun.
Under the sun…
Under the sun…
My brother under the sun.
I just love the random ppl which spam the lyrics

THANK UUUU for this ( too ) YOU ARE SO MULTI-TALENTED, GENIUS ARTIST !!!!!
Thank you for everyone's memories of brilliant music performance!
Мультфільм ідеальний у всьому: мальовка, сюжет, повчальний зміст і музичний супровід)
Один з найкращих мультів наших часів♥️
this movie is awesome, and Bryan Adams music fits this film so good :o Love Bryan Adams!!
Favorite childhood memory...love this movie and hearing the music 14 years later makes me feel like crying
A real masterpiece. A great song.
Bryan and his band of brothers under the sun are touring Europe beginning this week. Have fun and take care. ❤
without exaggeration, this is one of the best songs ever composed. perfect for one of the best films ever made.
Que lindo e que voz maravilhosa. Qto sentimento.
My favorite movie since I was only 5.
This my favorite song from spirit.
Esse filme é ótimo Meu sobrinho ama. Eu gosto também principalmente pelas músicas de Bryan Adams...

This is a beautiful song about two hearts that should be together. Follow your heart and your dreams, but always remember me. It describes a special friendship, one that time or distance cannot erase ❤
It`s sad if 20 people do not hear and see the beauty of this music and movie!
@Jeaners1789 It's Dreamworks...not Disney.

So beatiful. It touches my soul so deep ✨💕✨
É extraordinária esta música mesmo
2 Mill. clicks ! Dreamworks where are you ?!? Create Spirit 2 ! There is such a big fanbase !
Drift
True!
They need a part two of this movie...foreal!!
