Discus is my favorite throwing event. Love that feeling of getting long and ripping through the front of the ring. Hoping I win this discus for my senior year!
It was still a fresh experience.When i am in 11th grade i qualified for the state level championship in my last throw.It was the best moment in my athletics life.I am in the second position still the last throw.I lost some hope, but at last the final throw clicked and i got gold.Also i won an event in 1cm gap from my competitor.These are unforgetable moments.

When I threw I wasn’t particularly good at discus. But now have figured out I’m a pretty good coach of the discus.

I’ve been throwing discus for 7 years now and am in my last year of high school. I do not have a coach as I am in a remote area instead I watch videos such as yours to help me. I have made it to the all schools national athletics which I will be attending on the 7-9 December. This discus will help me greatly if I was to win it. It was great technical video which will help me to correct my technique. Taking right foot off and shifting the body weight to the left foot is very important and hard part of throwing. I am throwing discus from 3.5 years and now My best is 42.38 , I know this is not enough but I am doing without coach. So these UA-cam video just like a coach for me . Keep doing sir . I followed your instructions and now i am imporving in Discus . In only 12 - 15 days i am throwing 40 or 40+ . 12-15 days back , i was throwing about 29 only . Thankyou sir for these great informations 😊😊😊💪💪💪

My favourite event is the Discus Throw because I love the feeling when the discus is released off the fingers and you can already sense a very good throw!!!!!!!

My favorite event is the JAV but I threw disc for points in college, got up to 145' and even had the fortune to work a bit with Mac Wilkins. I got the front part of the throw dialed in nicely but never learned the back, videos like this are helping me to get on the right track. We didn't have UA-cam when I was competitive, everything was a mystery.
Just bought my first real pair of Saucony disc shoes and am jumping into my 2nd meet in 25 years, I jumped into a masters meet on a whim and tossed a 34M from a stand 2 weeks ago and it felt great. I really want to get a spin together and this helps.

Great break down of the steps in the wind!! As a 68 year old I have found my balance is different than when in high school so I am having to learn to do what my body allows. I can't seem to get my twist of the body as much so I am working on stretches to help that. My speed isn't like in high school so I have lost 20lbs and doing exercises to speed up, No matter what I am enjoying the journey to be my best at my age!!! Thanks again for the video!!
I appreciate The simplicity of explanations so I can translate it to my kids. This area has been their most difficult to master.

John, It is great seeing someone older, like I am , working hard to still make it happen. I hope you can have a big PR. I am glad to communicate a few ideas I have for you to help you as well if you are interested. I worked as a graduate assistant Throws Coach in grad school and grew up with out all of these fantastic resources that kids coming up today have. I would be donating the discus to the HS kids I am working with as a volunteer coach at my boys HS. THANKS for all you are doing to advance the sport and help others. Good Luck! The discus throw is the hardest throwing event with so many little things that can go wrong each can take meters off of a throw. When you get it all right in the same throw it’s the best feeling in the world, that’s why discus is my favorite event!
Nice video I am just starting to rotate also doing the same in the shot starting with the South African move now,will be 67 years old in 18 days and love all the throwing events also still enjoy lifting heavy. Keep up the good videos coming Thanks Ed
My favorite throw by far is the discus. Disc and hammer are my main. I hated disc in high school, but that was because it was more technical than the glide for shot put. I love the fluidity of the throw. Makes me feel light.
I like the set up there. I may make a circle and net like this in the garden so time travel to track is avoided and more time to practice. Thanks for all your tips 👍👍👍😎

In 2005 world championship held at helsinki. Alekna was behind the kanter till the last throw. Alekna had a huge throw at his sixth throw and it was more than 70metres. It was an unforgetable event.So the lesson learnt is that don't loose your scope and we had a chance till the sixth throw got over.

I have watched/studied a number of Geist's HS videos and he locks that right leg straight in the back of the circle (emphisizing it) but did not feel or understand the importantance/thought behind it (everyone has aspects that are slightly different). This makes alot of sense, gonna try it with my boys (maybe after Finals, so not to mess them up now before States). Thanks!

How would you say you could fix the issue of the left foot not turning enough out of the back? I always feel like I drill that part of my throw but never really see a consistent change from throw to throw, sometimes I get around all the way, others I find myself not getting around nearly enough
