The Alison Brown Quartet performing "Sally Ann" at Bok Tower Gardens, Lake Wales Florida April 27, 2103. Bok Tower Gardens: boktowergardens... Alison Brown: compassrecords....
And what people who don’t play the banjo don’t know is that the instrument is really quite heavy. Kudos to Alison Brown for handling that beast so well! 👍
Don't know if I appreciate the hollow sound of the keyboard against the raw energy and craft of Alison's talent - nevertheless a fantastic piece - love it !
Wow! So Allison doesn't anchor her ring finger on the banjo head. I don't feel like such a freak, now. X-) Good "progressive" take on an old trad tune. Loved it.
Many of us do not anchor our ring finger on the head. Anchoring the ring finger is not mandatory to playing effectively, and does not effect speed when needed.
I think it was taught to do so, at least to me, for reasons of accuracy, not speed -- less flailing about of the other fingers, or some such. I know I used to, then noticed a few years ago I wasn't doing it. Tried to get in the habit again, but every time it would break free. I worried about it for awhile, then reasoned my picking was no better or worse either way, so I quit worrying. Seeing Brown, and your comment, gives much reassurance. Thanks.

Very nicely done! You make my name proud 👍🤩
Wow she's utterly amazing! And I love the keyboard added in. The whole ensemble is fantastic!
Liked the video of The Alison Brown Quartet performing in 2013.
Wow!!..................................just wow! You just picked up my month Ms, Alison.
That was amazing!!!!!
How do I get to the future to see Ms. Brown? And gosh, I hope I look that good in a hundred years.
I love the modern approach of bluegrass format with progressive banjo plus keyboard, gives some spicy unusual atmosphere..
Met Ms. Brown down in Boston in the mid 80's. Very nice lady! Great banjo player. I was with the Northern NY Band "Mardi Gras Bluegrass Band."
This is amazing and I’m new on the banjo I had to subscribe 🎶❤️
"April 27, 2103." Wow, a vid from the future... will she still be this pretty and killing the banjo then like she's done so far?
Very nice 🌷👍 sharing
Класс! Элис, улыбайся, тебе очень идёт улыбка! Ребята, молодцы!!!

Tinny sound.
Isn't this "Sail Away Ladies?" I don't believe Earl put the minor in.
Loose the keyboard and drop tone on base. Add fiddle.
How loose should it be?
Disappointed because I just bought Homeward Bound by Alison and every UA-cam video shows no vocals what so ever !
Would slow it down and clean it up
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Okay little different, don’t think I like, sorry 😐
Not Sally Ann. Not close
