@mikesabin8568 plastic scratches easily, doesn't it? All panels in engine bay serve specific purposes and are also visually appealing, so you can enjoy the view when bonnet is opened. Do not be offended, just cover the car while working as per normal, common sense and professional practice. All the best.
I have the same sound but apparently it wasn’t the injector seal! It was the collector that connect the engine and the exhaust was cracked and leaking the air that go from the engine. Hope might help some one to find the problem.
@@kristenbekkevold1500 I think he means the pipe bends after both exhaust manifolds that connect to the turbocharger flange. I have the same kind of ticking sound and exhaust gas smell, new injectors and washers/seals so I might have cracked exhaust manifold pipes also.
Anyone know what that is? I have Audi A53.0tdi 2008 and ticking exactly same like on this video mechanic says it’s injectors but the car it’s pulls nice everything it’s good only the ticking and something come up on dash board dpf Singh can help someone
So it was the copper ring (the fire gasket) that seals the injector that was leaking? I have a similar sound from the right side of my 3.0 TDI (245 hp, from 2012) but I'm not sure if the ticking is from the injectors (as they're pretty noisy on this particular engine) or the gaskets. I had the injectors changed about 50.000 km ago they've run for approx. 2 years now, but they're definitely becoming more noisy as they age.
@@MovieKangzz the injectors are quite "ticky" on the 3.0 TDI, but that's normal as far as I've heard. I usually add a bell add additive to the diesel and always use Shell V-Power diesel, as it's giving me the best engine performance. I say usually as it's been 18 months or so since I stopped using additives and decided to go for a diesel injector + air intake cleaning at the shop where I rent a lift w. all the facilities to go over brakes and minor maintenance services like oil changes etc. which I do every 15.000 km. We hooked a Wurtz diesel cleaner to the system and left it running at approx 2.000 rpm for 45 minutes, then applied air intake cleaning .. followed by a fresh drive to thoroughly clean the system. Overall I have to say it made a difference to the responsiveness of the car, and the engine is running much more silent; however, there's still some faint ticking from the injectors - likely a result of the engine running more quiet. If your car has been going 250.000 km like mine, it's definitely time for a full diesel clean. Are you btw. experiencing a faint whine from the gearbox when it's warm and you're coasting approx 70 - 90 km and it automatically shifts down the gears? I'm getting this faint "iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" sound that shifts with the engine rpms (AUDI replaced the gearbox + flywheel and it helped for a while, but it's coming back). Car drives like new though, so it's perhaps a signature sound of the S-Tronic model they use on the 3.0 TDI.
No it's combustion pressure leaking out the escape ports in the side of the cylinder head. It's designed to let the pressure out the side of the head when the copper washers on the injector seat fail to prevent the combustion gases entering the rocker cover and contaminating the oil.
Love the way tools are left on the car to scratch everything around. Respect the car and put something on it, it's not so hard.
The tools were placed on plastic. Nothing to scratch, please think before you speak

It would be nice if you were to put before/after sound.

What collector that connect the engine and exhaust are we talking about? EGR?

A tapping sound is unlikely related to the manifold. Perhaps it was cracked as well, but they aren't related IMHO.
Had them changed on my q7 was the injector seal copper gasket
Did your rpm go up and down when u stop? Or did your car go into limp mode on highway?
hello, I'm having the same problem, what was the solution to stop hearing this whine at the injector? please tell me so I can solve it too
Changed them 3 times came back again then changed all of the rings problem solved
how much it cost?
Injector seals common as anything on these not the best job to do

I’ve got same car, engine and year and noise and car works fine too, what did it end up being on yours as I’m not sure what causing it ?
As video showing, you only do it on injector no 2. I'm wondering how you confirm it. Any tips can be share? Many thanks

The noise is the copper ring leaking combustion pressure.
@@FourRingsAuto I had the injectors replaced about two years ago. Could it really be that the copper rings are leaking already?
@@andersborum9267 yep. Either they reused the bolts, or the injector seats in the head are damaged.
Do you have the part number for the bolt please
Hallo,
Das gleiche Problem ist bei meinem Auto passiert. Ich habe es repariert und habe das Problem wieder gehabt. Weißt du was verursacht das?

Any side effect with bad washer like blue smoke on idle ?
Any part numbers? Think my a8’s need changing.

Hi, how do you remove the "grey" part? I don't know how to do it.
