- Another Baylef song, actually my favorite track of the album.
Stone Gossard "Bayleaf" solo album (2001). This work shows Stones´s grow up as a composer and musician
The hopeless immortal's beginning to fade
Wrestled down with anchors, impervious chains
The ocean's electric reduced to a buzz
The pills turn the popper, he probably would
The standoff mechanic of cognisance, sighs
Mulls brooding through the alleyway, a harbinger's night
He pulled the remains, and teeth from the tree
When he sat down in memphis, he bound it on a hill
How to take it all in stride, win your soul and mind the light
How to live around the storm, wind and pressures to befall
Here's a question you might need to ask
What's self destruction and how can we last?
"Anchors" can bring back the state of consciousness in the dream awakening .Melody of peace in the turmoil and anguish.Gardening and planting trees is a nurturing activity.Thank you Stone.
This is brilliant. Bayleaf is a very underrated album and this is one of the greatest songs of the album.
Thank you!

Pancho, I am so sorry that Chile has again been struck by an earthquake... are you & your loved ones ok? hugs from Amsterdam, Helena .. still enjoying Anchors.. shivers :-)
This album came out September 11 2001
thanks to you
Amazing song. Imagine Eddie singing it too.
Love this album, but it took a while to get used to it. On 1st listen I think the only song I really liked was Pigeon. I got it the day it came out, which you may remember was September 11th 2001. I woke up and went to the record store to pick it up without turning on the TV, it wasn't until I was checking out and the guy at the counter was watching it on TV that I found out what had happened. Needless to say I wasn't as excited to listen after that. Bad day to have your album drop.
This song is absolutely fantastic. I think it would have been a great pearl jam track also. Not this it is no where perfect by stone alone.
hey you.. how's life.. xxx
Hia Helena!! after many years, I came to youtube to listen to this song :) jejej how are you
Nice song, but who the hell names an album "Bayleaf??"
why not???
It takes introspection and careful study of songs to appreciate how the artist's creative process works.Thinking outside of the box and understanding botany will give the listener a clue.
