It's so crazy that these can't be installed from the factory due to DOT regulations. These taillights look so much safer than the US spec ones due to the amber turn signal.
of course it is, just like matrix lights are not allowed, DOT are retarded
They could have installed them from the factory AND passed regulations if they just made the amber turn signal flash instead of sweep across. But, VAG clearly hates us Americans

ClanTKillers i do not kno why vw uses the red tailights in the usa and canada as where they are made in puebla mexico, they all use amber turn signals in the rear. Seems stupid to me to increase cost and complexity of build. Just give all vws amber lenses, Fare safer, too, esp in inclement weather
Doesn’t USA have some weird law about Xenon or LED lights as well?
TH3BOOT it's a state-by-state issue, and most states don't care. So VW dumbs down all their US cars to pander to whatever state has the most strict laws. So we all suffer. I even doubt the US will ever see the facelift LEDs on stock.

Interesting, in the US you want Orange indicators. In germany many want Red indicators, but its not allowed xD

I have a GOLF GTI mk7 with Factory-fitted LED tails. Do I still need the wiring harness just like the NA model or is the Dynamic LED tails (mk7.5) are going to be a plug n play for my car?
Who makes the dark cherry OEM? Mine has a marking AL 8124.
What about euro spec led tails light are they just plug and play with no coding??

I’ve seen a video of an LED tail with true sequential with amber lights. I’m not just talking inner, then outter. I’m talking sequential(like the facelift model of the 7.5). A friend said they don’t have that particular sequential way for the MK7 LED. Is there a way or coding that I can allow for it to do it like the 7.5, or do I need to source out from a vendor in Australia?
