- In Part Two of "Painting Splinter Camouflages" Dave covers the painting of the actual pattern, and demonstrates his technique in achieving this difficult camouflage scheme.
Uncle Dave Amazing work!
Thanks!!
Thanks for this. Do you thin with just water?
Phil Ray - just water!
Actually found you on Andreas facebook page as they posted my videos on painting one of they're figures as well.
Incredible !!! what are the references of the green and brown that it used for the camouflages ?
I'm using the Andrea Miniatures Splinter Camo Paint set!
Just subbed to the channel. Great videos and content. I do similar things on my channel and I feel your pain trying to video things of this detail well. If you have a few moments I'd appreciate your feedback on my content as well. Your work is excellent!
Thanks - I'll check out your channel this weekend!!!
It's obviously easier to do on the 16th scale - now, how to replicate it on the bunch of Dragon figures in the 35th? :)
Same technique for the blotches - you may want to use a colored pencil for the rain marks!
at 7.37, what kind of wash do you use? Is it an oil (burnt umber) wash or?
It was the acrylic Shadow color heavily thinned out from the Andrea Splinter Camo paint set! It is a very dark brown.
Cool ❤ muy bueno !
Super useful video! Just subscribed. Cheers.
Thank you!
Dave, your a fantastic modeler and real down to earth, (as always professionals make it look easy), but with your explanations, it’s a lot easier, and one thing I adore about your videos is when you paint you say ”there”, and that is just the best, it gives that reassurance that you can mess up, but you can touch it up and make it ok anyway. Keep up the great videos, your one of the best in the business.( working right now on a fallshcrimjager on some of your tips)
Giorgio, Thank you very much - you made my day!! More videos finally coming this Spring. Dave
Thanks for all your videos Dave, is there anyway I can send you a pic of one of my models and you can probably just tell me where I went wrong or what you would have done different? Just to know if I’m on the right track to one day be as good as you🤭

Dave I have found using a very sharp tooth pick instead of brush works really well for splintering.
