It could be true. I think maybe it has to do with how the 3rd game convoluted the story too much with unnecessary sci fi elements. A remake could fix that. It only needed 2 games really for the kinda story it was.
@bernardorodrigues7048 that doesn't make sense. Dino crisis actually had an original idea on how time travel worked in that universe and would be appealing to many nerds who never played it to learn about later in the game.

The build up to Cooper's joke is top-notch comedy😂 Dino Crisis 1 and 2 really were the stepping stones for modernising survival horror. Great games. I like how you point out that this game has characters of different race and gender, yet no attention is drawn to it. They are just people. I wish more modern writers learned this trick when going for "diversity" or "inclusivity". There are actually 2 corpses you can use to access the lab. It is tricky. You have to use the phone in the room where you rewrite the card to page the researcher with a number written on that phone. Then you need to find the corpse with a beeping pager. It is the one near the elevators. I only figured it out a year ago))
Top marks on this video. I also recently did a playthrough of DC using the Rebirth patch five months ago, and replaying the game was such a treat! I've even tried my hand at texture modding and using a free cam hack, which allowed me to make some sexy variants of Regina's costume and also record what happens to her in the Pteranodon and Therizino Danger cutscenes. (They're in my channel, shameless plug). I would have done a Barney T. rex, but using Texmod for DC Rebirth is pretty iffy, with textures sometimes being applied on the wrong dinosaurs which is why I gave up. And also believe that DC1 doesn't need a remake. As gatekeep-y this might sound, I think that the demand for an RE Engine Dino Crisis is just because players want a third person shooter with less puzzles. But still I would gladly support a remake if Capcom decides to make one, as long as they don't butcher Regina who has been my favorite video game girl of all time. My first Skeb commissioned request was for an artwork of Regina! And "horny" is kind of a subjective term, especially for me was a young teenager back then. Let's just say the room transition scenes in the game and having to look at Regina's big butt have rewired my brain towards the female posterior. And the butt was even mentioned in Jim Mazurek's strategy guide in PSM and Expert Gamer. Furthermore, a lot of Regina fan art emphasizes her butt, and I've even seen some comments from Japanese gamers saying they also grew up ogling Regina's butt.😂Call me Coomer, but I'm a professional. I can handle myself. But anyway, good job again on this video and congrats on reach 5K subs. Love the Cooper jokes. Jurassic Park 3 is awesome. And good job on the Dr. Kirk impersonation as well. What's interesting to me, having not played Dino Crisis but being an Ace Attorney fan, is the concept of the Ace Attorney Borginia and the Dino Crisis Borginia being the same place. In one of the Ace Attorney cases that most involves Borginia, there's a thing called a Borginian Cocoon, which is said to be able to cure an otherwise incurable disease but can also be used as a potent poison. They're incredibly illegal to smuggle, carrying the death penalty. Presumably they are implied to be from a natural creature, but if we take the Dino Crisis lore into account, I think it'd be interesting if they were some sort of deliberately developed weapon. There's never an animal mentioned that they come from, so I could definitely integrate that into my belief system. For fun. On a different note, WOW your videos are so good. I've just started watching your channel recently but they hit the exact niche I enjoy right on the head. I appreciate the effort that's very clearly on display in every vid I've seen. I hope you get some more traction soon, you deserve it!
So I’ve played the game many times and watched multiple videos about it. I feel like this is the most insightful essay on the game. I never realized the men that died in the elevator were the ones in the documents you read for example.

If they do a remake like in the style of the 2002 Resident Evil one remake i think it would be good but, if they do the remake in the style of the Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 then it's going to suck because those remakes took so much content out of them

Yeah, I was left disappointed by the remakes of 2 and 4 too. They're still excellent games but they're not good remakes. The remake of 3 I didn't mind because it wasn't even really trying to be a remake of the original, it just went off and did its own thing.
You definitely have to wonder if One of the Writers for Jurassic Park 3 was a big Fan of both Dino Crisis games! I mean, it makes a lot of logically sense when you factor the years and factor the references and in-Jokes between both!
Jurassic Park 3 went through so many rewrites it wouldn't surprise me if one of the writers managed to slip in a Dino Crisis reference, but no one's ever come out and said it unfortunately.
Imagining a Dino Crisis movie. Big blockbuster for sure. I hope they remake the first two games for current consoles. After that just skip or forget about Dino Crisis 3 and instead focus on making a sequel (Dino Crisis 4) for next-generation consoles in 2030.

I disagree; raptors are shown smashing through fences and obstacles all through the game, and they're pretty resilient to the sorts of small weapons the guards were using.
I'm open minded to it's remake, because the GameCube resident evil was really good I thought. I bought dino crisis on dream cast years ago and thought the updated dinosaur models looked pretty good.
Japanese in general have a way of unnaming countries and cities. Even in franchises like Sailor Moon things like A-City or B-town are used. Another odd cultural thing that's not really worth looking into further.
It happens a lot in the Godzilla movies too. I just find it odd here given I believe the English script uses different terms than the original Japanese script on other things. For example I'm pretty sure Third Energy is called something like Kinetic Energy in the Japanese version.
Awesome review! I know understand why you made such a big deal about the game being stuck on the PlayStation store, as the more you talked about the game, the more interested I became. It's tricky to find fast paced horror games that don't just become straight up action games (Even if those can still be fun. Resident Evil 4 is one of my favorite games of all time and I'm not in the minority there). I'm also impressed by the quality of the voice acting and direction. This was still the era were video game voice acting was all over the place, so I was pleasantly surprised to see how consistent and believable the acting and direction was in Dino Crisis. Perhaps not the best at the time (it's hard to top Metal Gear Solid and Legacy of Kain there), but a lot better than I was expecting to the point it deserves more credit.

Great video, I remember playing this at a friends house and crapping my pants when the first Raptor showed up. I bought it from Video Games Heaven (if you're from Melbourne you might know) underage but the guy let me buy it anyway. Such a cool game, holy.
Dino Crisis, had it come out a year sooner, would have been better received, but the problem is, by 1999, survival horror was suffering from franchise fatigue. Capcom tried to keep it going somewhat with code veronica being less fixed angles, but the reality is, cheap jumpscares, backtracking, and fetch quests had overstayed their welcome.
I definitely agree that dino crisis has aged extremely well compared to other games from the 90s. I think most of us just want dino crisis to come back because we feel robbed. Dino crisis should have been a huge franchise growing alongside RE. I mean the first one sold almost the same amount of copies as RE1 so it's not like it's some kind of niche franchise that didn't do well and the fans are just being needy. It's more of the notion that all these other games are getting remakes and dino crisis is getting the cold shoulder. It's just sad honestly. A staple of so many people's childhood lost to one bad title that really wasn't even the producers fault (thanks 9/11). While a remake isn't needed, I think that's the easiest avenue to show Capcom the franchise isn't dead. Do the super easy remake, let it out-sell every other remake they've done and then maybe we'll finally get a proper sequel to DC2...

I have a similar Haunting Ground story. I bought it and held on to it until I could play it with a friend. We got about 2 hours in, and the game kept freezing on the same load screen. Too late return it. Just a $100 paperweight
@monotonallizard Oh me too! Many happy hours playing it as a teen in the late 90s, its great to finally have a copy that doesnt require emulation or me dragging out and hooking up my ps1. But man, the controls are rough and real hard to go back to. I only played for a few hours before getting annoyed at feeling like I was meandering drunkenly about and wrote that comment very shortly after. What I desperately want though, more than anything is a PC remaster of parasite eve. I loved that game so much. Not a remake or anything. Just wanna play it on pc.

Many dinosaurs had fur like feathered patches or were completely covered. Just the way it is. Also, velociraptors are about the size of a chicken to a turkey and heavily feathered with a literal upturned snout. But Jurassic Park thought the name sounded cooler than Deinonychus so an entire generation of kids thought velociraptors were these human sized scary lizard things. They arent. They are covered in feathers, their arms looked like wings (so were all of the related species) and a human could punt one across a room.

Interesting fact is dinosaurs were called giant lizards up to the 1900s. Recordings in China, Rome, Greece and other places in different time periods that encountered different kinds didn't distinguish them apart from any other reptile. Marco Polo had writings about the ones he encountered traveling to and from China and Herodotus (if the right name for the guy that started museums) even wrote of one in a friend's garden (smaller kind).
It is narrative by Capcom. They are never consistent nor masters of it. The closest they've come to weaving a story together well was Breath of Fire series, because it required it and only in later entries. I don't think Regina is a girl-boss and let's her team mates hash it out. Otherwise if realism, the team leader is always listened to no matter what on a mission. It avoids confusion and maintains consistency.

Man I just want it to be playable in the PlayStation store least, or steam, even though I don't have a PC I know a lot of people do. I remember it was on PS3 a long time ago but I doubt it's still on there.
Yeah. Maybe if the OG Resident Evil trilogy does well on GOG they'll finally give Dino Crisis a proper go around.
As someone who has tried to like this game but couldn't get into it because of the controls and fixed camera, I disagree; Dino Crisis needs a remake.

I have a similar Haunting Ground story. I bought it and held on to it until I could play it with a friend. We got about 2 hours in, and the game kept freezing on the same load screen. Too late return it. Just a $100 paperweight
Gails did survive. but he did only have a 9mm mpl smg. Its not that big of a gun
It needs a better control scheme. Just bought it on gog. And no, cant handle tank controls.

Oh me too! Many happy hours playing it as a teen in the late 90s, its great to finally have a copy that doesnt require emulation or me dragging out and hooking up my ps1. But man, the controls are rough and real hard to go back to. I only played for a few hours before getting annoyed at feeling like I was meandering drunkenly about and wrote that comment very shortly after.
What I desperately want though, more than anything is a PC remaster of parasite eve. I loved that game so much. Not a remake or anything. Just wanna play it on pc.

It dosnt? Sure let it die with time. OF COURSE IT NEEDS A REMAKE! Been playing since 1999 most of you kids wasn't even born. I had to rent a PlayStation at blockbuster and rent the game at the time.
This Game don't need a remake, only a remastered.
It doesn't because they are going to fuck up the dinosaur designs making everything feathered.
Many dinosaurs had fur like feathered patches or were completely covered. Just the way it is.
Also, velociraptors are about the size of a chicken to a turkey and heavily feathered with a literal upturned snout. But Jurassic Park thought the name sounded cooler than Deinonychus so an entire generation of kids thought velociraptors were these human sized scary lizard things.
They arent. They are covered in feathers, their arms looked like wings (so were all of the related species) and a human could punt one across a room.
I would love Dino Crises on PS5 or PC. Not a remake or remaster. :)

Interesting fact is dinosaurs were called giant lizards up to the 1900s. Recordings in China, Rome, Greece and other places in different time periods that encountered different kinds didn't distinguish them apart from any other reptile. Marco Polo had writings about the ones he encountered traveling to and from China and Herodotus (if the right name for the guy that started museums) even wrote of one in a friend's garden (smaller kind).
It is narrative by Capcom. They are never consistent nor masters of it. The closest they've come to weaving a story together well was Breath of Fire series, because it required it and only in later entries. I don't think Regina is a girl-boss and let's her team mates hash it out. Otherwise if realism, the team leader is always listened to no matter what on a mission. It avoids confusion and maintains consistency.
