FEMA has an underground station at Mount Weather. USAF has a station in the Cheyenne Mountain facility and I’ve also heard of a DOD firehouse at Raven Rock, PA. Some underground stations I have seen were in Door County, WI and Lexington, KY.
Lexington's most unusual fire station is called The Cave. Built in 1983, Fire Station 16 appears to be built into a hillside but is actually a concrete dome that was later covered with dirt to create a natural looking hill. The design was chosen because it incorporates many energy-efficient features and remains at a constant temperature year 'round, even if the power were to go out.
