Brother Scrapper, you are all over it. I'm a novice at this... more a hobby for me. Glad I found yourself channel. Oh, and keep the language. Makes your channel genuinely authentic!
Welcome to my channel. Check out some of my other videos You can learn a lot .And I have a lot of people with small kids that watch my channel. So I try to keep it Somewhat clean.
I did farms for 12 years all over Eastern Iowa...back when we were getting just shy of $300/ton. First year I had a setup like yours, just a pickup and a trailer. Loaded by hand or with comealongs or if they'd load me was a bonus. I made enough that 1st year to buy my first skidloader, a gooseneck flatbed and a dump trailer plus a second truck. Paid for. By year 5 I had 4 trucks n trailers and a nice S300 Bobcat with solid tires. By the end i had a track Bobcat and several guys hauling so i could just stay on the farms and get materials dug out to load the next guy. Bought a grapple for the skidloader and just went to town on these big farm cleanups. Century farms were the best ones...nothing thrown away for 100 years or more. Kids didnt want nothing to do with the farm so guys like me get called in to clean up before the farms went for sale. I miss doing those for sure.
I would never let someone load onto my equipment without me being there. An agreement for them to pay for damages would be something to consider doing in the future.
It did, but it was buried in there and I couldn't get it out.. One of the reasons why I hate having other people load my trailer, because I would have saved that it was the least 50 bucks right there.
And the thing is, is I told the guy that I didn't want it to go down this way before it happened. I knew that it was going to be nothing but a shit show.. But he did agree to pay for the damages
Usually not. This bad, but when you're dealing with people who are complete morons they just make everything miserable.. And they act like they're doing you a favor by breaking all your shit
@@Adventureswithmike1 why is that? I’ve been trying to figure out why ours is so low. I’m in eastern Maine and our nearest shredder is just outside of Boston so maybe just the cost for the scrap companies to truck it so far? Not sure.
It was bolted in the factory location, but it looks like there's still some license plate around the bolt holes. It ripped right through the plate. I have no goddamn clue how he did that
One of the things that i've wanted to do in getting a hook lift truck and have dumpsters.. For all the metal and house clean outs I do.. I'm working on it
Dont think your mic was on mike. Nonetheless, scrap does get labor intensive. Its definitely is fun though. I think thats what most people who scrap dont realize. How labor intensive it get but how fun it is.
Because there's a decent amount of money there and if the guy would have did it correctly and not break my shit.. All I would have had to do was drive it to the scrapyard for easy money.. But i've already pulled two more loads out of there without an issue.. And the trailers loaded for Monday morning, so I should make almost 1500 bucks.
@@Adventureswithmike1 gotcha I know I've got mine on the fender but ain't got a light and I'm in Arkansas but the area I'm in the cops don't even stop ppl without trailer lights so wasn't sure
I'm a full time scrapper, and i've been doing it for 25 years.. Even though this clean out has turned into a Circle jerk I end of the week at Making over $8000.

Oh trust me he's paying for it.. I had a discussion with him not too long ago on the phone..
That definitely looked like an adventure! Keep smiling brother!
Yeah a shitty adventure with stupid people. Lol
Great video man your friend Shawn dragon from Staley nc
Thank you how's everything been
Looks like that car on the bottom of the front of the trailer had a copper radiator
It did, but it was buried in there and I couldn't get it out.. One of the reasons why I hate having other people load my trailer, because I would have saved that it was the least 50 bucks right there.
Behind your trailer is grill inserts for a Studebaker worth a thousand or two that sucks all in days work 👍
The gentleman who won the property kept all the cool stuff like that
A lesson well learned for you and all of us watching. That job sucked.
.

Man $220/ton for tin is absolutely incredible. I’m @$100/ton.
There's some places in some even more than i'm getting.

I am not sure. I think it has a lot to do with greedy scrapyards.
Never let someone use your equipment unsupervised.
There be real world class morons out there.
Bolt the license plate to the metal fender. Wont lose it ever again
It was bolted in the factory location, but it looks like there's still some license plate around the bolt holes. It ripped right through the plate. I have no goddamn clue how he did that
@@Adventureswithmike1 damn 😅. I mount my plates vertical on the fender and use bolts to make sure it dont go anywhere
Yeah, in Pennsylvania. You can't mount them vertically.. And it has to have a light on it. I know cause i've gotten a ticket before
@@Adventureswithmike1 damn
how a bout a dumpster and a trailer ...be great for gigs like this ..... scarp it up

You might have to reload the video.. It's because i'm editing and changing things as I go
Reloaded and audio is spot on🤟🏻@@Adventureswithmike1
Yeah my home computer is not working
I'm having technical difficulties at the moment
If you're doing this job for the scrap. Then why don't you just walk away?

Can you bolt ur license plate to the fender?
Only if it has the light.. I got a ticket for that once before
@@Adventureswithmike1 gotcha I know I've got mine on the fender but ain't got a light and I'm in Arkansas but the area I'm in the cops don't even stop ppl without trailer lights so wasn't sure
I guess every state is different. And it depends on if a cop wants to be picky or not
If only metal paid more the harder you worked for it lol! Ya win some ya lose some. Are you employed outside of scrapping?

GET YOU A METAL DUMP TRAILER .
I had one and I absolutely hated it..
Save something for the baby to do and stop crying
You're the one crying and complaining.. Thanks for watching
