This is one of the best songs I've ever heard in my life. I literally cried the first time I heard it. This song can change lives.
Heard them do this live last week and I had the same reaction
When I attended Camp Flog Gnaw, he played this live and the urge to cry was very intense.
You must be twelve.
I cried too
Beautiful
Here we are in 2020 Covid 19 Lockdown. This is a perfect song for coloring bookmarks with my grandson.....be well and stay safe everyone.
Thanks for posting this S Walker, I just lost my grandfather.
Regards from 2024 (rainy autumn)
This dude just made me, a Grown Man cry. I Never met him, and stumbled across him. Had to run for tissue.
This song makes me feel like I can...
get an erection?
Josh Gartland THAT'S THE SPIRIT!
This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard in my life. Listened through this album first time yesterday. This track hit me like a ton of bricks. Words cannot suffice. What a beautiful piece of art
Amen
Our minds, our bodies, our feelings
They change, they alter, they leave us
Somehow, no matter what happens
I'm here
The time, the season, the weather
The song, the music, the rhythm
It seems, no matter what happens
I'm here
Daylight seems bright because of night
It's shade we need
So we can see
Our love, our beauty, our genius
Our work, our triumph, our glory
Won't worry what happened before me
I'm here
Nuestras mentes, nuestros cuerpos, nuestros sentimientos
Nuestro amor, nuestra belleza, nuestra genialidad, nuestro trabajo, nuestros triunfos, nuestra gloria
No te preocupes de lo que paso antes de mi
Estoy aquí....
❤
Ignaxorm They certainly are amazing lyrics in any language.

Nothing like taking a break from listening to war metal to listen to some great jazz
I feel ya man! As much as I love death metal, Kamasi Washington always impress me, he's so good!
Kamasi's music has so much substance to it

This song (and album for that matter) show in full what music can do for human beings. This music appeals to the human spirit and soul in a way that can’t be put into words. I can’t thank Kamasi Washington enough for this, and am blessed to be alive during his stunning career.
Everyone needs to be heard around the world, especially now.
Masterpiece. Enough said.
Kamasi’s on another planet.
Saw Kamasi and the Next Step play at the Boulder Theater last night... all I can say is wow! This band had a chemistry unlike any other I've ever seen. So wholesome and inspiring. Not to mention that Kamasi's father came out and took a few solos on the alto sax. Super awesome show! Recommended highly.
I think this would be my first wedding song dance for sure!
Such a positive and beautiful message in this song. I can't get enough.
The song laid roots deep in my soul the first time I heard it, and these days it's been the source of strength for my family who almost lost one of its young members due to substance abuse and lack of direction in life. I strongly believe this song has the power to change lives.
This guy is brilliant.
We need more choirs like this in more songs
3:36 that solo always punches my soul in the best way possible. Unbelievable talent.

Dope
It has such a openness to it and yet it is complex and mature in its story, but all the while keeping the inviting , soulful nature present at every point. It's talent × hard work + life.
Very well said.

Any recommendations of any performers similar to Kamasi Washington?
icarus212001 I don't know anyone else who can play in quite this style, but if your new to jazz, Dave Brubeck has always been one of my favourites
There are no performers like him. I think he is he second coming in Jazz.
