If anyone is interested in hearing something similar, Sun Ra released an album called Lanquidity in 1978 that has some similarities. Two tracks in specific that carry the same vibe are "Where Pathways Meet" and "That's How I Feel"

I love how the drummer just subtlety starts going crazy toward the end. And he hits you with those doubled bass notes. 👌
This song is always like a beautiful sunset. You can't just catch it at its peak and call it a day. It's how it progresses and develops from start to finish that shows all its true beauty.
I keep watching this and I don't know why... It's very relaxing like he knows something about the universe that I've yet to discover. I must learn more about Kamasi Washington.

It's 10:14 here in Berlin, I woke up all covered in sweat after a terrible night of sleep. My flatmate got covid on Sunday, and probably so do I now.
Well, one of the songs playing on repeat inside my head while sleeping was this masterpiece, the funny part is that I only listened to this thing once, around 1 month ago.

Just been on an incredibly fruitful music spree on UA-cam. Opened a bunch of tabs from the recommended lists and after about two hours of listening to great music, I found this song in the last tab... the perfect finale. Feels like I should've paid for this experience.

Bro what I dig in the most is that the roles in this MV are actually important figures in the Street Fighter Community, Gootecks was/is the most known entertainer in the SF Scene and Combofiend as well is a renowned player in the Fighting Game Community. In general, they're both solid players, however Combofiend is still more skilled , which is well depicted in the video, great work!

Without the fast pickup of the beats it sounds like a late 80s early 90s urban movie score ala "Hoop Dreams" or something like. Monotone jazz. 70 s as well.
Somehow manages to make such a simple music video into something magical. The music definitely had something to do with it. And so did Kamasi's smooth as fuck style.

Because I can't help but feel like this is a weigh station on the way to the afterlife, like a type of purgatory, and Kamasi's still there because he's too driven to be the master of his realm...
