That's awesome! It's great that they appear all over the world it seems. Seems to be a good selection around the tokyo area now that I am looking. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for doing a video on choice!! It’s HIGHLY underrated imo. The banner elk property in NC I stay at all the time for my ski trips to sugar mountain. I’d consider myself an intermediate travel hacker and I maximize choice the most! You do have to do a bit more research & read reviews/ratings because you have to watch where you stay as I have definitely stayed in some sketchy ones but as I’m learning more taking the extra 5 minutes of reading reviews/ratings and exploring the area around the hotel helps get you a cheap stay in a clean & safe area !!! Thank you again for posting & educating others on choice!!
Thank you for your kind words! They mean a lot and help me keep at it. That's a interesting coincidence, I have the Banner Elk property booked for a birthday trip in October actually. It looks amazing from the pictures and your comment has me excited to check it out. And yes, they can be hit or miss but doing the research to find the hidden gems is very rewarding 🙂 Also PS (you probably already know): The banner elk property is only 10-12k points per night after September 16th right now if you were looking to do another trip!
Banner elk is like my second home! Very quiet & great area!Especially in October, leaves are gorgeous during that time & the small town is very quaint. You’ll have to check out Sorrento’s Italian bistro if you like Italian!(on the pricey side but worth it!)
Nice counter-to-the-normal UA-cam travel advice. I’ve been thinking about trying the 1:4 Citi to Radisson transfer to see what you get. Good luck with your channel!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your feedback! The 1:4 transfer ratio is so valuable and I wish more talked about it. Hope to bring more unique content soon
Hey there! It is but it is limited. Hotels you can do this will have a * symbol on their redemption. But be careful because sometimes it doesn't make sense if the upfront cost is low. Example: I just looked at one near me and it is 54$ a night or "6,000 pts + $51" which makes zero sense. My rule of thumb is, if you see that the hotel upfront cost is
May i ask, the 30,000 pts anniversary, is it valid for only one year, or will they let you accumulate them? Cause the others free night expire in 12 anniversary months. Thanks for the counter valuable content
You got it right on actually, because it is points they do not expire after 12 months like the certificates. However, the points do expire if your account has no activity after 18 months. (no recorded stays / points earned) But you don't have to worry about that if you have the choice credit card active. :) hope that helps, and thanks for watching!!
Sorry I'm confused. How much are the 30, 000 anniversary points with the choice rewards credit card worth towards a Radisson hotel stay? My wife and I stay at the country inn & suite for anniversary and are looking for a credit card that will give us the highest value for one night stay equal to approximately 250-300 dollars a night . I thought the choice credit card with anniversary credits would be best Although would citi premier or Amex, or even the venture x by capital one be a better choice?
No worries on confusion! I'm new to this lol. So you can transfer choice points you would earn each year with choice select card (30,000 each year) to 60,000 Radisson points. Just google "transfer choice to radisson points" and it'll take you to choice's website where you can trade them. 60,000 radisson points could get you anywhere from 2-6 night stays at the country inn & suite. They vary from 10,000 to 30,000 points a night usually. You can see at 20:05 this Radisson in Rochester, NY is 10,000 points a night. And at this night it is about $250 a night stay. So, in theory you could get 6 nights here x $250 = $1,500 in value for the $99 annual fee choice card. (in addition to its other benefits like TSA and platinum status) Lastly, if you're primarily interested in staying at the country inn properties, I would definitely get the annual fee choice card or the citi premier card. The 75k points with the citi premier card would get you 150k choice points, which would then be 300k radisson points. 300k radisson points could get you 30 nights at the country inn if you look hard enough! Hope this helps! Thanks for your question
@@kylercreditno I think you explained well, I'm pretty new to hotel credit cards. I will definitely Google that with Radisson and see if I can figure out how to do that. And I will consider the city premiere. I'm having a problem finding the specific room we stay for our anniversary available on several travel portals, including choices booking portal, I was hoping that the 30,000 annual choice points would pay for the one night stay although I'm still unsure if I need to book through choice, or if I could use them directly with country inn & suites. Would you happen to have a UA-cam video explaining further? And thanks again for responding. Keep up the great content!
@@DB6904. It looks like Choice is completing its acquisition of Radisson by July 25th. The Radisson app and website is giving me issues and I think all radisson properties will have to be booked under Choice starting July 25th so that might be why you're having issues. Before you would have to book on Radisson website or app to get country inn & suites. Choice is just an intermediate step to transfer the points. But now it looks like you'll be able to just book directly on Choice. I'll make a video discussing the new changes and how to book radisson properties once this merger happens since you asked 🙂 stay tuned! If your anniversary is super close and you need help ASAP navigating, feel free to email me kylercredit@outlook.com otherwise I should have something up within the next week or two. Cheers!
A points chart? What exactly do you mean? If you mean the range of points a room might cost it’s 8,000-35,000 for Choice, and 10,000-67,500 for Radisson in my experience
Choice has a pretty large presence in Scandinavia as well. I'm in the process of booking a Stockholm, Sweden trip next year.
Good to know! I am looking to book a choice property in Italy here soon. Internationally the value is still very much there too.
This video was a great breakdown! Thanks so much for shwoing the value.
More Choice Hotels content please!
Choice hotel points in Japan has great value. 8000 points for hotels costing over $100 usd is normal

Thanks for sharing! Wanted to ask if cash+points is still an option for Choice these days. I have some points but not enough to make a redemption.

Noted lol, I think it may have been using my webcam mic at the time. I definitely have a good one though
