Will Smith in Tears With Trevor Noah About Chris Rock Slap

- In his first major TV interview, a tearful Will Smith reveals what led up to him slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Smith says the slap was due to bottled-up rage. Smith appeared on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" to promote his new film, "Emancipation." It's his first movie since the Oscars fiasco. Smith says he understands the movie may face an uphill battle at the box office because people may not want to see him. However, he hopes people will still watch the film.
I am actually glad that Trevor made it out of this interview without getting smacked.
He should be beat tho ya know?
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
👍true but I'm more impressed that Trevor kept straight face during the interview 🤣
not forgiving people is just as stupid and evil and slapping people
He was so sorry he partied straight after with all smiles and laughs
And didn't apologize to Chris Rock until forced to. Smith is Fake AF.
Who cares
Well, when you think you were doing what was right at the moment, you party. However, God has a way of letting us know that our actions were not right and makes us repent. Yes, you'll have to suffer the consequences of your actions and look crazy in society for a time while he humbles you, but then God tells you to get back into society again to show them that I am a forgiving God and I can restore you before those who write you off as a has-been because I AM is the Great I AM.

He didn't seem traumatized when he partied right after.
Okay. He can't be sad forever.
To be fair, he was probably still in his head then. Hearing that from his nephew (if true) probably was one of those things that bring you to reality.
You can party when you’re sad
However, this was not an oscar-worthy performance.
You have to wonder about the sincerity of an apology given by an Oscar winning actor...no one will ever know if it was real or not, no matter how many times they apologize.
I think he does feel remorse.. but only in the sense that he's tarnished his name.. he's been the "cool hip.. can do no wrong" Hollywood darling for decades and now because of assaulting someone for making a lame joke.. he no longer has that midas touch he once had.. it cannot be stressed enough.. he didn't make Chris more likable by hitting him.. he made himself LESS likable

Yea especially if it's decades ago... You would think that all his success since then sort of made up for it... it's not like he worked a regular type of job for a normal monthly income since then, which what most people have to do with far worse childhood experiences than the ones Will had.
And comparing a mild joke with domestic violence is quite farfetched anyway.

I feel bad that Chris Rock was bullied as a kid and he promised himself that as an adult, that would never happen again. Yet his friend Will Smith slaps him on TV! Shame on Will Smith. SMH.
@SaffireButterfly a plastic surgeon showed that her mark on her head is from a scar from a brow lift and not alopecia. I guess Will might have been just as angry with Chris as he is with Jada for infidelity. Instead of dealing with his wife for her poor behavior, he dealt with his friend for telling a joke. Talk about misplaced anger.
Chris was never his friend, friends don’t verbally attack your wife 🙄🥴
@@a200mas perhaps not. But I thought Chris over time has shown a dislike for Jada for the way Jada has treated Will - with disrespect and arrogance. That seemed like a friend. @Tomi Igo that's a good title for the movie!
Second Oscar for Will Slappy in Documentary Shorts.
I have no doubt Will Smith sincerely feels bad about this. He seems to be a decent enough guy, and he obviously knows he screwed up. What's really odd ... if you go back and watch the moment ... is that Chris Rock makes the joke, and we see Will Smith chuckling at it, and Jada is sort of rolling her eyes, but it's not like she looks furious or hurt. The camera goes back to Chris Rock, and the next thing we know Will Smith is storming onto the stage. I wish we could see the camera that was on Will and Jada to see how he went from chuckling to out of control in a matter of seconds. FWIW, that joke honestly was fairly tame for Oscar night, when it is expected that the hosts will poke fun at the celebrities in attendance. Earlier that night, one of the hosts (Amy Schumer? I forget who it was) made a joke about Leo DiCaprio's tendency to date women half his age and it actually drew a gasp from the crowd. And some laughs. But the it drew a bigger "did they really go there?" response than Chris Rock's G.I. Jane joke.
So he blames his father for him slapping another grown ass man for "jokes"? That gives you NO right what so ever to put your hands on someone else because they said words. What a goofball.
