Great video... boys don't be scared of eating raccoons. They are delicious. I just filmed a raccoon catch & cook yesterday. It'll be up sometime this coming week.
i just started trapping in january. i caught 48 raccoons and 25 opossums between january 14 and march 31. having caught all those guys from this one 40 acre property we live on has caused the coyote numbers to drop, lowered the bob cat numbers also (I didnt catch either of those personally), and not only have a ton of turkeys come back but so have deer. it had been five years since we saw either a deer or turkey. after trapping from january to march we started seeing them again, then I put out two feeders and we have huge numbers of deer and turkey. cant walk in the woods without jumping one now. been sticking a few hogs with my bow too. the massive number of preditors had run everything off. we just want to run off the things that run off the birds and deer. that means tasty dinners like raccoon gumbo, fried opossum, pork tender loin...
I live out side of city limits n north Florida. We have an acre with a ranch home. Most properties are 1-5 acres. Every year since spring of 2018 I’ve live trapped 6-7 raccoons, 3-4 possums which I relocate. They dig holes in the lawns looking for insects and worms guess. I have also caught 3 neighborhood cats every year and just let them go. They run fast when ad and don’t come around for months. Cat kibble, lucky charms and capt’n crunch is my bait of choice. I also see an armadillo at night sometimes but I’ve never caught one. When they run thru bushes they sound like a wild hog.

Guys, I raise chickens in North Mississippi. Great video! I trap all around my chicken coop and catch coons, possums and skunks all year. I use live traps and DPT's...... Good video, keep them coming....
I understand the need to take care of predatory animals. When I was young, I would help my dad skin the pnes that he shot. It supplemented our diet and none of us girls were bothered by it. Keep up the good work.
I remember reading that raccoons are one of a few animals whose population has not dropped like other animals, because they can live on man's garbage. I also remember talking with people who grew up on farms during the Depression and when things were tough they would eat raccoons.
Morning David from Port Macquarie Australia, first love your videos and your devotion to eradicating wild pigs, I wish we had the same devotion for getting rid of our 250m wild rabbits, 30m wild cats & dogs, 3m wild camels and I don’t know how many wild pigs we have destroying our farms and landscape, most attempts of eradication here is left up to the farmers or recreational shooters. Therefore we need you here for a year, love you videos, keep the coming.
G'morning David from Ga. I've noticed you have a reverent moment just after the knocking heads and I surely understand. Keep it up and missing the inclusion of your beautiful wife in the videos. Give her our best as rest of family and crew! Thumbs up, amigo!
Raccoons are cute BUT they are destructive too. Here in Indiana, baby raccoons are born in March and April. The most I've seen are 4 babies at a time. We have 7 female raccoons here and if they all spit out 4 babies, you are talking 28 babies. Sometimes they are here just until they have their babies and then we don't see them again. We do feed the animals b/c otherwise they will destroy my bird feeders. We do not make them pets. I appreciate what you do. I have no problem with it and it does help ppl and it helps the food train too. Keep up the good work and GOD BLESS.
Also if you are relocating (which I don't believe in because your making that problem someone else's problem) check your local laws many states and counties have laws against relocating. Blassings and prayers David.

Yawt Yawt: Thank you for the video. Is that the Marlin Model 60 again? Raccoons are amazing animals, but they cause so much destruction on my little farm so I work on discouraging them by trapping them. I watched you set that raccoon trap with both hands and I was jealous. I have never been that strong. A couple of years ago I saw a UA-camr explaining how to set the DP raccoon trap and he had a bar he used for a helper. Instead of buying the bar I just use a big Craftsman screwdriver. It gives this weak handed trapper the leverage help he needs. Several years ago I attended a seminar about pest control. One of the presenters worked for the US Wildlife Services. He told us that it is illegal to transport live predators like raccoons and skunks without a special permit from the US Wildlife Services. He said if they are caught live they must be euthanized at the catch location. I didn’t ever find out if that applies to all states or just here where I live. One of my brothers lives several hours away and he said he has a neighbor that will take any raccoon he traps. The neighbor takes the skins and has them tanned and is in the process of making my brother a raccoon skin cap. I am anxious to see the final result. Your work is amazing. Keep up the good work and God bless you and yours.

Great video enjoyed the ride and info on trapping I caught two opossums recently by my chicken pen turned them loose away from the pen but after listening to you David think I'll dispatch them next time tks.
Enjoy your videos. You talking about maybe cleaning and cooking a raccoon, have you ever cleaned a raccoon before to eat? I use to clean and cook them when I was young. Some good eating. They're not like a rabbit or squirrel,if you don't get all those glands out, they will be way too strong to eat. My favorite, is bbq raccoon.

Trapping is necessary since man has developed so much area. The predators aren't around the way they should be. So man has to replace the predators. God bless
My brothers friend caught 69, got tired of catching them. Then my brother caught about 100 maybe. He got his traps stolen. This is on a nine acre farm. Development pushes them in , this property is surrounded. I can see 23 in one tree right now. Still no shortage.
I use Body Armor bottles to put molasses in from the big jug. They are sturdy and the lids stay tight, plus the wide mouth is less messy😉. That way I can top the corn or whatever without having to tote the big jug through the brush.
I grew up in southeast Ohio in the 50's and 60's. My dad worked in coalmine in W.V., back then there was not a lot food to go around. The coon hunters, who only hunted for the hides would bring the whole skinned coons and hang them on the porch as hunting season was in the winter. I could not tell you how many times we had them for Thanksgiving or Christmas. My mom would parboil them first, and roast in the oven. As, I remember they were pretty good and free. I used to hunt groundhogs in the summer and sell them for a dollar, that is how I made the money to buy my first .22.
I grew up on a farm and we grew our own beef and pork. My city friends could not understand how I could eat my pets. I lot of people will never understand animals were put here for mankind to use for food and other products.
There are too many “nay-sayers” making negative comments about what you do! But I like watching everything. I wish you could show the critters being shot. But I know UA-cam has its limits. I’ve got a cage trap myself, and one time a caught a kitty cat with collar and tags! So “any which-a-way” keep up the good work!
As a child, I remember eating raccoon, possum, groundhog, squirrel, rabbit, turtle. We didn't know anything else as a rule. We ate frog legs when we had enough trapped to cook. That was some good eating!
Yep, you mentioned something some of the people do not think about... that is these animals are in territories and when released somewhere different.... they will become the hunted in most cases. They will not know their way around, where to find shelter or food and the group that already live there will fight to keep their space. I am for putting them down because it is better than maybe getting mangled and dieing in pain for a week.
Nice work! I nuisance trap woodchucks, possums and skunks on my small 1/4 acre property. I mainly use 160 conibears and occasionally a live trap or 2. I can't shoot where I live so I put the live caught ones down with a CO2 box.

I watch your videos every night before bed so keepem coming COME ON
Interesting! Learned a lot.
God bless all here.
Keep on keeping on I’m enjoying the show
Great post...keep them coming...BTW What is wool hole in a possum?
It’s like a worm that lives under the skin. Raccoons get them
@@DavidEllisYawtYawt Thanks Brother!
I use Body Armor bottles to put molasses in from the big jug. They are sturdy and the lids stay tight, plus the wide mouth is less messy😉. That way I can top the corn or whatever without having to tote the big jug through the brush.
If you started catch and cooking you’d be the the Mississippi version of FLAIR lol😂
😂 😂. It might work. 😂
You are a very busy man! So many animals to be trapped.
Interesting video!❤
As a child, I remember eating raccoon, possum, groundhog, squirrel, rabbit, turtle. We didn't know anything else as a rule. We ate frog legs when we had enough trapped to cook. That was some good eating!
Have you ever encountered critters with rabies etc? Are they edible with the disease?
Awesome buddy. Keep the videos coming.
According to Google, raccoon usually has 5 to 7 rings on thier tail. According to Yawt, "they ain't ready".
I think you forgot that back leg on the creek jump! Lol.. another great video
😂 😂 😂
I love you Yawt yawt!!!❤❤❤
