I got my first high end guitar and it came with a Floyd rose and I’m not too keen on guitar stuff. I don’t know shit about music theory; pentatonic scales and such. I just play basic power chords and any other weird chords I can make that sound good. I don’t know a single real “note” like F, G or C etc. and this whole thing really intimidated me but I did it and realized it was so easy, but tuning took a good half an hour from popping the back cover off, to putting it back on. Thanks for the tutorial. Very simple and straight to the point. I really don’t like those 20+ minute tutorials, and now my guitar sounds wayyy better. The strings were so close to the pickups bcuz the bridge was too low that it gave a ‘bass with active pickups’ clicky sound, and now it sounds the way a guitar should sound
Hell yeah man!! 🤘🏻
This is officially the way I'm doing it from now on thank you very much, I've had luthiers who charge too much for instability so I learned off others and your explanation has been the best so far, also I learned you can use the 3mm Allen tool to use as a fine tuner wedge underneath if you're trying to settle the fine tuners for a even height match.
That’s great! I’m glad it helped and thank you for watching
I just bought a Kramer on discount for some superficial damage, including a busted string. This is a lifesaver
Nice!!! I love my Kramer. My first guitar I got as a kid in 1988 was a Kramer and wish I’d never gotten rid of it. Let me know if you have any questions and thanks for watching!
Good point about the end balls.
Thanks! Ive been doing them that way for 30+ years! 🤘🏻🔥🎸
Awesome video! Wish I had this info sooner!!
Thank you!
For those new to Floyds, its so much easier to restring one at a time. Start with the low E, replace, tune, stretch, re-tune. Go on to the A. Repeat. That way, when you're finished, the Floyd is still sitting exactly like it was when you started. Cutting all the strings at once can result in the bridge needing spring adjustment, and if you're not intimately familiar with that adjustment technique, you could be phukt.
I disagree. I’ve been doing Floyd’s for 35 years and for the first 20 years I did it the way you mentioned, however with the Tremblock there’s no need to do one at a time. No spring adjustments are necessary.
Never change3d strings on one of these or even seen them SO, very helpful. Cheers from New Zealand
Nice! Let me know if you have any issues with it. Don't forget to subscribe for more videos on the topic! Thanks again.
Had a korean late 80s kramer given to me, and this is helpful. Thanks, man.
Nice! Thanks for watching
Dude, I like your videos, smashing likes all over the place. I found a san dimas Charvel on the cheap. The saddle screws were stripped on the floyd. I guess they didn't know you could replace them. The first string saddle screw was stripped completely🤘
Thanks bro! I’m just trying to create content that helps people with the issues nobody showed me when I was younger!
This is especially for floating Floyds.
Absolutely.
Great video! I don’t own a Floyd but I found this pretty entertaining and I feel like I learned something! I think you should do a video showing the whole tuning process 👍
Great idea! Don’t know why I didn’t think of that yet lol
I agree do a video of the tuning process because a question came to my mind, since im a beginner at guitar, does the opposite side of the string change anything like ive never seen that done in that way. Does it affect the sound at all ?
@christianorioltorres7251 Thank you for watching! Here’s a link for a more thorough look at the entire process. It doesn’t affect the tone at all but just makes it easier to restring it.

Thanks !!!!! Much obliged !
Anytime, let me know if you have any issues!
Great video on restringing. I bought a Kramer Striker today with the Floyd Rose special. Never strung one before - a totally new concept for me. Just wondering if you should tune the guitar before putting the nut locks back on.
Yes! Get it tuned up and then tighten down. Also make sure the fine tuners are about halfway up so you have adjustment range. 😎
I have a Shredneck Tremblock and made the error of tuning up whilst still having the Block under the bridge snd had to alter the trem claw etc so you do just put the strings on so it creates some tension near enough to pitch, remove the block then tune?
Yes, as soon as you get a little tension on the strings, remove it and then continue tuning. As long as you replace with the same string gauge then you shouldn’t have to adjust the claw.
Thanks for the tutorial! How tight do you need to make the nut clamps? My strings keep breaking between the nut clamp and the tuning peg.
Thank you for letting me know! You want them tight but not tight enough to strip the threads ( I’ve done it before).
As far as breaking the string between the nut and tuners, I have only seen that when you forget the locking nut is tightened down and you try tuning it. If it’s a Kramer they do have a very sharp angle from the nut to the tuners though so that might have something to do with it.
Are those emgs instead of the stock Seymour Duncan’s?
EMG’s
How much for a string winder?
I think I put a link in the description of the video for 1 and they’re typically no more than $5 for a basic one. 🤘🏻🎸
