Bought this bass today on Black Friday for $449. This bass has amazing build quality and the sound to match. We did a shoot out against a fender jazz bass at $1000 and it was an easy call to pick the Gloxy 4. Saved a lot of money. Plus, it looks stunning.
    Wow!

I was checking some basses online and got into this beauty. It looks and sounds phenomenal however seems to be quite neck heavy. Is it so? The headstock also looks the same with Vintage basses - maker of low cost quality fender copy instruments - I wonder if they are somehow related...

I own both a Fender, a VIntage and this one, the Headstock does in fact look similar to a Vintage but is it not by any means the same or made by the same company or factory, those MarkBass are extremely well made and could go against any Fender with Vintage specs like a Vintera for example.
In therms of being Headheavy I would say the tuners are bit heavier than the regular fender player or any MIA fender, they are the regular fender style, meaning you can replace them by any after market brand (I am thinking about replacing them with some Gotoh tuners). I would say it is a bit heavy but not to the point of neck diving like a Gibson EB-3 or something like that.
It is a great machine, an absolute underrated bass in the market, get one and you wont regret at all, this one plays better than my MIA active J bass by Fender.
Hope it helped, any question just ask.
