Well, think about it. If a person actually wants help finding their lost dog, why would they go to a child for help? Why not call a friend or family? Even if they couldn’t, they still wouldn’t ask a kid for help, they would ask an adult to help find the dog. Why would they ask a child unless they had ulterior motives? Puppies are sweet, lovable, and almost universally loved by children everywhere, making them a good thing to use for manipulation. And most kids are told to not take candy from strangers, but this person isn’t giving them candy, they’re asking for help. Any kid under the age of eight or so wouldn’t be concerned about this. They would think they’re doing a good thing and fall right into the trap.
In conclusion, a person who ACTUALLY lost a dog would go to an adult. A creepy person trying to manipulate and trick a kid would ask a child.
