I was not pushing the tip far enough into the handle. it was very hard to push and I was afraid not to damage something. Now that i understand what is going on inside the handle, I inserted it properly. This video is exactly what You Tube was made for.
What are causes of all these board failures in the OSS Team soldering stations? Is it that the boards are not designed to work on both 110 volts and 220 volts? It seems to be the same power supply board used in all their soldering stations.
