the original JBC also had a hard plastic on the handle, it became quite hot on the first JBC stations. I guess they changed it to that rubber to isolate the temperature from the fingers. The heating modules are also different depending on the solder tip.
@@daitedve1984 they changed it to the soft grip and the problem is solved. The JBC is doing a very good job I would buy it again any time. It doesn't cost 1000$ but like 350$
Hi! There are a problem to see the chinese forum about tips teardown. No way to register. Can you create a screenshots from there or save content as web archive? Thanks!
Hi thx from soul for that good videoo i love that information which i was search, my question is before i buy that, getring the iron tip of the downside heavy hotness or is the hotness only on the upside where the tip are or on the middle of the tip ?
thanks voltlog! great video really good to find out these important details. handle and issues in the handle is very important. for example my previous chinese t12 handle shorted out in similar fashion, and the short created a small fire, on the main switching mosfet on the ksger controller pcb. and it burned damaged all the FR4 around it. hehe anyhow what is interesting here is because these days we still are buying clone handles for the new aixun t3a and t3b. this includes a nase /nano type t115 clone handle too. (not genuine) which is even much smaller size. and more delicate. so it iss great to know we can in fact take them apart to examine it. and check the situation for ourselves. very big helps thank you my friend 👍
Thanks for the teardown video. There are so many different soldering stations available. It's hard to choose. There always seems to be new improved stations and various clones coming out. I now have an old Weller, Hakko FX888D, Pace ADS200 new in box. I recently bought a couple of used Metcal MX-500P-11 power supplies and I think I'm going to try them for a while. Well...unless something else catches my eye.
Yes fun to watch great video interesting My. Ksger soldering station been using for four years is now coming up with error messages maybe same problem as. you have i have tried a new tip bit better, but waiting complete replacement as i use it all the time in my workshop with electric bikes. I do. have a couple of butane irons for backup
Szia én is ezt használom hibátlan gyors és pontos használtam már JBC annak jobb volt a szoftvere számítógépről szabályozható, és ennyi! Én és sok kollegám ezt használja senkinek nem volt panasza!
AIXUN T245 may be better than this one. The handle doesnt saying T245 but it says 2245. If the brand from your old handle is "BEST" then all i have to say, this is garbage mate.
You could wrap a Capton tape around the area that is prone to touch both contacts and it should fix the problem.

And this trouble we have in $1000 station?!?! What a shame! 👎

Maybe add some Kapton tape to make isolation area larger on the heating elements.
do you know how thermocouple cold junction compensation is done in soldering station like this? I don't see any thermal sensor inside the handle
Great video, I just want to know the handle compatibility between JBC and the clone one.

Original JBC handle ist ok for this station ?
Thanks for the teardown. Those tolerances do look wrong and perhaps the variability in the generic tips makes the issue worse.
Hello , i have an Aixun T3A and i hear a buzzing from the handle . What do you thing ? The problem it is the handle or the station ?
& How teardown the tip, if the problem in heater element
Jbc handle probably cost more than the whole station
Anybody know why handle replacement dosnt work with jbc soldering iron (no tool error ) Anyfoby hsve idea why .
Thx
How about buying the clone handle and using genuine cateridges from JBC?

Just stick with mx500, its all you need.
how does this station compare to the Aixun T3A? could you use real JBC handle in both the Aixun T3A and also the Best T245?
Can you check nt115 and t210 clone handles?

This chinese knock-off costs 287,95€: are you mental? For the same price you have Hakko 951, or save some more bucks and get a JBC.
thank you for not showing how to fix it, guess everyone needs to buy genuine JBC handle for a fotune, you should change title of your video then.
