This song is from her fantastic album Songs of the 49th Parallel, in which she covers Canadian singer/songwriters. Some of those songs are quite famous, like Hallelujah, Helpless and A Case of You; others, like this one, not as much. Jane Siberry was quite a quirky musician, even for the time (esp the 80's). This is quite a beautiful song, both the way it was written, and of course, sung by kd. While kd is known internationally, I didn't realize how much Australia loved her till a few years ago, when I saw this and also an interview with Dame Edna. That last one is absolutely hilarious, as only she is (Edna, not kd lol).
