6:52 TLDR if the yaku is greyed out or question marks, it ain’t fully contributing to your score. This took me like, so many games to notice and understand, so I wanted to explain it in case you haven’t seen it! When you score a hand, all the yaku are stated up top, however some of these are greyed out with a question mark, and some are just displayed as a question mark. The greyed out and question mark ones give you no or reduced fan. These are hands that you succeeded at making but haven’t actually unlocked on this run! So here despite having a hand that was: - All chows - Base - Lower three (purple questions) - Outside hand (greyed out) - One voided suit (greyed out) Only the first two contributes to your score netting you 90 points instead of more. The unexplained mechanic here is that, if you start building your hand around something, after I think 6 times playing the hand successfully, you will automatically get a lvl 1 version of it unlocked!! This actually creates an interesting choice when you’ve already won a round, because sure, skipping will give you money, but playing another set might allow you to unlock some hand getting some extra fan from yakus earlier! ALL OF THIS TO SAY: greyed out and question mark yakus don’t contribute fully to score. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk! Really enjoy the content. Hope this was helpful
