Keep Engine Bay Detailing Simple. Koch Chemie MP/ MotorPlast! Engine Bay Dressing And Protectant!!

  • Today, we put Koch Chemie MP/Motor Plast through the Apex Detail Review Process! Naturally shiny, water-displacing conserver for engines, housing parts, rubber hoses and power units of cars, commercial vehicles, etc., with pleasant fragrance. Treated parts regain their new appearance. The complete drying (no lubricating film) prevents dirt sticking. The power units are protected from corrosion and environmental factors by the permanently elastic protective film. Suitable for use on dry and wet surfaces. Temperature-resistant to 250°C. With Daimler approval.
    Use a spray bottle, or ideally the Cyclone, to apply an even thin film to the precleaned wet or dry surfaces and
    then leave to dry.

    By far the best engine bay dressing I've used to date. Looks great and I love the fact you don't have to worry about it causing issues when it hits electrical connectors. By the way ... it's rated up to 482 degrees (F) by Daimler ( per the bottle ). Applied it to the Jeep SRT a month ago. Checked it after a week straight of rain and it still looks spot on. Much better than the hyper dressing I had been using.
    Thanks again Brian!

    Looks like CarPro PERL. That's what I use and in exactly the same way. Diluted to the proper ratio, I use a bottle that highly atomizes the liquid. Covers evenly and it's water-based so its not greasy. I've helped people with car repairs in my garage and I hate when someone uses a greasy engine bay dressing. They've clearly never done any mechanical work.

    A big thanks Brian for this video.
    Right now I’m sat at home in the UK waiting for my delivery of Koch Chemie MP, so it’s been really good to see what kind of performance I can be expecting.
    I’ve been using Autoglym rubber and vinyl up till now but fancied a change. I want something with a bit more longevity.
    You’ve probably already tried this but I’ve always used my blower to blow the product in to all the nooks and crannies straight away after application, works an absolute treat.
    If not, give it a go, leaves a fantastic finish.

    It took awhile, but I finally received my Koch Chemie! I first experimented with it on my John Deere. Hmmm, not bad, not bad at all! Then on to my truck. Oh yeah, even better. Next will be on my Vettes. But now I need more product!🤦🏼‍♂️😊 With what little I have left, I'll continue my experimentation on my non-vehicle plastic and rubber items. I think the possibilities are endless. Thank you so much for showing/demonstrating this product to us.🙏 Save the Wave👋🏿

    I really like the idea of cleaning and letting the product do all the grunt work. Back in the 80s engines were rat motors or old clunkers. I used gumout engine block cleaner and carburetor cleaner to clean the heads and manifolds. Then you rinsed off and how she started. After running the engine you would wait 30 minutes and then spray armor all. People would wow and ask how did you get the engine so clean.

    Yes this stuff is pretty expensive but it's worth every penny. Don't know how they made it but it just works really well. Everything from Koche is top top tier. But this may be my favorite product from them. There is other good apc's, snow foams and compounds but there isn't any engine dressing touching this stuff right now.

    Looks like a nice product, but too expensive to ship to Maui vs a few other products. Interestingly the wash protocol is very similar to what I do, unless the engine bay is a lot more nasty. I like a tornador with different chemicals or cleaners as needed, then agitate as needed and wipe down is all.
    Sidebar: I’m finding that cyclone air blaster my “go to” to get sand out of “ impossible carpets”. Thinking of buying a new one with a vacuum attachment I like so much. Air mask a must😂.

    Just bought some for my Audis' engines. Damn that stuff is awesome!! Not sure how it holds up but 24 hours after cleaning and coating it looks brand new under there. WTF did I not hear about this stuff earlier.
    Question: I used it on the cover between the hood seal and engine (all under hood), would it work on the bezel at the base of the windshield around the wipers? I can't seem to find anything that makes it stay looking clean and black. Not sure if it's sun safe.

    I would like to see a comparison between this and Armor All. It appears to look and act exactly like it when applied. The major difference I can tell between the two is this product is more than twice as expensive. I wonder what the advantages this product has over other products.

    • @BigBear--
      @BigBear-- 2 роки тому +1

      The benefits are that its temperature stable up to like 490 F. Doesn't require to be wiped on or off. It's water based, and non-greasy. It self levels. It doesn't leave any residue, and isn't glossy like Armor All. It also depends which Armor All product we're talking about, some of them contain petroleum products, which could damage certain surfaces or materials.

    wow wait a minute, what's with the fancy room and furniture Brian, you can't just start a video somewhere new and not tell us about it :D. But I like the room!
    The pronunciation of Koch is hurting my ears though as a neighbor to the Germans, I'm sure German-speaking viewers as well haha, UK John does it too. but can't write how to pronounce it, since in English there is nothing similar to the sound of a g like in German. however, if you go to google translate, select German type Koch and press the small microphone button, you will hear how it's pronounced :D
    No biggie though, just a detail. But I thought I would share it for the people who wanna know or don't know the google translate button yet. Cheers

    Is the product parts sensitive? Another words, do you need to stay away from the engine belts? (Causing slippage). Do you need to stay away from the alternator? I like the fact that its self leveling. Good video.

    • @wayniac34
      @wayniac34 3 роки тому

      I would always recommend staying away from belts and the alternator. Typically you have to be somewhat cautious with belts, alternators, and electrical connection points . This actually protects those electrical connection points. Something I haven't seen on other engine bay dressings is a temp rating. Per Koch it's rated up to 482 f.
