- Finally go the chance to upgrade my boat to have all the electronics be linked up and talk to each other. Its now super smart, but will it help me catch fish and survive on an island😅... Plus a delicious catch and cook of a new fish that could become one of my favourites

Watching this at breakfast time here in Thailand and as you started cooking the fish my neighbour started frying fish . So it was like smellavision !

I just added a 32LB Motor on my Nexgen MK2 kayak and i bought a gopro. Tempted to start making some content around botany bay and pittwater area! Have you got any quick one sentence tips for someone who's interested to make a youtube fishing channel?
Hi RoKKiT, just have a question how do you rig your rods like do you use mainline to leader knots or just swivels and if so what knots do you use for leader knots and lure/hook/weight knots?
Yes main line to leader, no swivels. I use a double uni if not casting much or thin line. FG if I’m casting or line is thick and needs to run smoothly through the guides👍

Have you thought about attaching a camera to the trolling motor? Toss a BIG mem card in it and external battery cable and just let it record from time to time. A beer and the fast forward button might find some really good B roll shots.

in the Med red mullet are a prized fish and everyone eats them. Some of the best tasting fish in the ocean. I think people over the decades have changed taste buds regarding what fish taste good and what doesn't. I feel the less fishy they taste the more people like it. On islands around the world thats not the case. Where im from we deep fry them with a coating of flour, we just scale and gut thats it

there's no way you just did that without dark magic
I hope you turn off the sonar transmission when you turn your unit on when it is out of the water. If you do not you can burn up your transducer. It can easily be turned off, different manufacturers have different procedures for doing so.

I have been following you for some time, even if not very assiduously, but I preferred when you went out with the kajack, all this technology makes no sense, you might as well go around with gigantic nets and bring home tons of fish with echo sounders now yes they see even the smallest fish, you throw the hook and catch the fish. I'm sorry, but I prefer more "equal" fishing.
My last two videos were in the kayak by the way😂 like most people, I do, and enjoy more then one thing… I prefer to keep looking for more then one type of adventure, be it boat, kayak, SUP or just my legs of the rocks😅
And yes the goaties are much better eating than the mackies imo
Question that occurred to me: isn't the red light supposed to go to port (left)? Because it looks from here like you've go them flip-flopped...
The light I use has red on one side and green on the other. I just forgot to put back the mount that’s goes on the very front center of the boat so you can only see the port side light😅
Hey mate just wondering if you leave your sounder on the ram mount whilst towing any great distance? I've fitted one to my boat and just wondering how it goes? Forked out way to much cash on my second screen for it to fall off 😂
Hey mate, yes I leave it on. Sounder is nice and secure on the big swing mount. I did take it off in the beginning as I didn’t like the way the plugs and back of the unit copped all the wind and rain. But now I have the covers on them I am confident just leveling it on👍

Haha, the Discovery has been awesome in every way so far, super capable, super comfortable, it rules in every way over a Toyota, especially in second had price. Plus I like the old box styling… BUT being a Land Rover, and Owing another discovery already.. I know this can all change any second 😅 watch this space😂

Ok, Rod. Stupid question from an inland fresh water fisherman. What is on your rig to catch livies? I’m sure you’ve answered this too many times, but educate my landlubber self, please.
When U broke and need bait you go buy a pack of crisps, eat it to stme the hunger a bit and then cut the foil packet into thin strips and tie them to a tiny size 1 long shank hook like a skirt..
5 hooks on a trace and U’re good to go..
It’s a Sabiki jig, little pieces of fish skin made into tiny lures on a single mainline. These ones are little pink shrimp made by Owner👍

I love your videos, and I get that we all like eating the fish, I also love it, BUT we need to have respect for the fish, respect for these beautiful animals that give us so much fun and nutrients. I'm not any sort of activist or anything, but it drives me crazy when this kind of stuff happens. Give 1 minute of your patience to release the fish, please. Keep it up with the videos; I love all of them; looking forward to seeing more videos of you fishing with the inflatable boat.

Nice upgrade to the trolling motor. In addition to iki and bleeding, I've taken to scaling and gutting most of my fish as soon as I catch them. Made up a little stringer system much like American anglers use to stop myself loosing a fish.
